Booked the Marriot for a work trip and didn't realize I was staying in a college town! It was late when we arrived, so we meandered to Lou & Harry's. Being a week night, it wasn't too crowded but it was still too busy for the one person who was working. He was absolutely FANTASTIC but I felt for him; he was bartender, server, busser...everything. The drink specials were awesome but the food was the highlight for us (which is really the only reason we were there!). The best way to describe Lou & Harry's is calling it a "Greek Bar". We ordered the Greek Fries which were absolutely delicious - the dressing really put it over the top. I had a gyro, which was fantastic as well. Next time I'm in the area for work, I can't imagine not stopping by here again! read more

The picture I submitted may look happy, but this place is kinda obnoxious. There isn't really a lot of room, but they only play trap hits. I think half of the population here is in Greek life, so if that's your scene, you might like this. I'm not in a fraternity though. It's got its niche, but it doesn't make up for the weak ass drinks. An hour & a half ago, I ordered a gyro, a burger with Swiss & no veggies, & some mozzarella sticks. We were delivered a gyro & a burger with cheddar & lettuce, tomatoes, & onion. I called 4 times, once reaching a voicemail that was full. The fourth time, a flustered guy answered the phone, trying to say he'd look into it & hang up. I asked didn't he want my name, address, order, anything to know what was incorrect. He took down the order again, promising he'd have a burger & mozzarella sticks right away. That was another 45 minute ago. I got off work 2 hours ago & don't have time to get something else to eat. And I tried calling them again, but of course, no answer. Edit: they showed up right after I posted this with an amazing burger & a double order of mozzarella sticks for the trouble. The guy on the phone was very apologetic & the delivery driver was nice. Their customer service brings them back up for sure. Edit again: we ordered again & they got both items we ordered wrong. I'm not going to even bother trying to call them again. Ordered delivery because Grubhub had 35% off and I figured, why not? Delivery was very quick, which is where they earned their stars. Food left a lot to be desired: Chipotle Southwest wrap: has "grilled Cajun chicken, jalapeño, chipotle southwest ranch, lettuce, tomato, and pepper jack cheese." Supposedly. Mine had no jalapeño or cheese and the lightest drizzle of ranch on part of it. Chicken was nicely flavored but there was literally five quarter sized pieces. It wasn't wrapped well (insanely loose, probably due to the fact that it was so empty...) and the tortilla wrap was hard. Ugh. I also ordered a couple of fried items (chicken tenders for my daughter and Mac and cheese bites). The oil tasted old and gross. I worked in restaurants for over 10 years and can tell when the oil hasn't been changed in awhile and theirs definitely hasn't. I hate when people say this in their yelp review, but my stomach is honestly hurting just a couple of hours after eating... It was my first and definitely last experience with Lou & Harry's. I enjoyed the burger, which had good flavor but was not super juicy or anything . The fries on the other hand were a little leathery. Also I was informed a drink would be part of my meal by a worker so I ordered one and then had to pay for it on my bill. When I questioned it they didn't take it off they more looked at me like I should've known better. Not a big deal but the small things are what set apart the better places. Stopped in here today for lunch, great decision! The gyro was one of the best I've had in a while. The pita bread was perfectly grilled and the meat was perfection (not too chewy or over cooked like some), topped with fresh lettuce, red onion, and tomato. This is a must try! Wow, I was really floored by this place. I wasn't expecting it. While traveling for work I stopped in for a quick bite and immediately realized that this was not just another college bar. First, it is SO CLEAN! The entires visit the staff was cleaning already clean surfaces. That really created confidence. Some serious effort goes into maintaining this place it appears. I figured those kinds of standards might carry over to the food. I wasn't disappointed. The salad was one of the crispest and freshest I have had recently and my entree was really surprising: real quality and full of flavor. The beer was perfect temperature and pour. Sorry but this good place has really, really slipped. We went for take out on October 8, 2020. Menu is confusing, lots of extra charges ($5 for a Greek side salad). Skimping on the sauce of my Gyro which was really dry and extra chewy, wife's Greek Salad was mostly lettuce (she added more tomatoes at home), very few olives, skimping on the dressing too. The extra we paid for chicken was a joke -- a dozen small pieces. Top it off, only 1 other customer before us and it took nearly 30 minutes for the order to be ready. Staff was nonchalant. They also ask for a tip on Apple Pay -- the minimum being 18% which I paid not realizing I'd still be there 25 minutes later. Scenery is uncivilized improper manner. Employees focus only their friend circle and you can tell management only hires those that are physically attractive. The table next to us (group of 5) continually kept getting free rounds of shots while we waited for our drinks for 10 minutes. Every song played is "hood" as they described it and I continually asked for the music to be changed to something more appropriate for a 1 pm setting. The DJ was an off clock employee that completely ignored me when I told her exactly what songs I wanted to hear, while a guy was grabbing her butt and taking shots with her and the table next to me that I previously mentioned. After a long week of classes my friends and I would go to Lou and Harry's for the taco bar and margaritas on Fridays. But, rectently after meeting the new staff and most importantly the OWNER I will never step foot in this establishment again. Staff is very rude. I am usually greeted by a waitress upon entering but now I have to travel to the bar for a drink and food. The food is absolutely terrible and tasteless. While making my taco the manager rudely told me that I had to order a drink in order to eat a taco opposed to asking me if I would like anything to drink. This really rubbed me the wrong way because not only did I plan on ordering a drink he did not say anything to another group who did not order anything. Lastly, the OWNER made his way around the restaurant greeting all customers except me and my friends. He even picked up trash from our table without even asking us how we were doing. Not to mention that my frozen margarita was all frozen ice and barely any margarita. In conclusion, Lou and Harry's has lost a customer. I will no longer support a business where I am not treated with the same respect and care as other customers. read more
