Absolutely adore this place. I come down to HB a few times a year, and every time I make sure to stop by Bober Tea. The lady that works here is very sweet (even gave some tips on how to keep the donuts fresh!). The drinks are delicious, especially because the fruit teas usually come with pieced of the fruit in them. The matcha cloud Vietnamese coffee was perfect-- not too sweet. The donuts are perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, and the frosting is delicious. The inside is well decorated and cute. Overall, love it. read more

I ordered a brown sugar milk tea while my friend got the milk tea. The staff who helped was very patient when we were making our choices and let us know there were no more surprise cups, so we were slightly disappointed. After waiting for a bit, our drinks came out and we left. The shop was empty when we came in and empty when we left - the surprise cups seemed to have been a big draw for customers as it was packed the last time we were there. Both teas were good. I opted to not have boba pearls this time as it wasn't very good the last time I had it from this location. I was tempted by the mochi donuts, but decided I was too full from dinner. Cute + Tasty + Instagrammable Japanese Donuts. This little shop is in the same plaza as BCD Tofu House. It's a small chain that specializes in Japanese mochi donuts and milk tea/coffee drinks. The donuts are really good, and the pink gift box packaging is super pretty, perfect for gifting! The inside is also cute, with a full wall of fake flowers and grass, plus a pink carousel that makes it great for photos. A no bo-brainer. Garden Grove is stacked with some of the best bubble tea shops in CA, so it's pretty much impossible for me to visit this city without grabbing boba. Typically I avoid boba shops with gimmicks, so this trendy little spot didn't intentionally catch my eye. I'm so glad Bober proved me wrong! You can order through the kiosk or at the counter. They have a large selection of mochi donuts as well. What a gem in Garden Grove. I love the great taste of their milk tea plus the crystal boba was delicious with perfect texture. Came here for the surprise plush cups and they were sooo cute!! We couldn't buy the plush cups by themselves so we had to order a drink with it. All the drinks are pretty pricey ($5 to up to ~$10), and we just opted for the Black Tea and Mango Green Tea, which were decent and nothing special. The surprise plush cups were an extra $5.50 and the plush comes out of the bottom portion of the cup. It was exciting opening the cups like a blind box, and we were happy with what we got - a keychain plush of Kuromi and Pochacco in cute bunny suits! The inside decor is very girly and cutesy, and there's lots of seating to hangout or study. They have ordering kiosks as well as online ordering if you want to order ahead of time, but the drinks came out quick when we ordered there. 3.6 stars I had to come here after seeing a Tiktok of someone unwrapping their "mystery" Hello Kitty keychain. As a kid at heart, I couldn't resist. So, I made the trek into OC just for these and I actually got to pick the keychain lol. I know it's suppose to be a surprise, but apparently, they let you switch the keychain with another character if you want. The super huge cup isn't necessary, there is an additional charge if you opt for drink + keychain. Anyways, this boba spot is basically Mochinut serving boba drinks. The interior is incredibly frilly and Barbie-esque. The drinks were ok. I got Roasted Oolong Milk Tea (75% sweet) & Mung Bean Pandan Latte (50% sweet). My favorite is the Mung Bean drink! I do think the drinks are way too sweet and likely would order 25% sweet for all my drinks in the future. I didn't order donuts this time, but maybe next time. Overall experience was good. The interior is super cute and has a good amount of insta worthy picture spots. They sell mochi donuts here but I did not try them. Checked this place out with friends due to the boba drinks and of the cute surprises you could get! This shop did a great job with drawing customers in. From the decor to product presentation to cute surprises with your drink, everything in this place is so appealing. Our cashier was so kind and funny! I don't remember her name but she had such a fun energy to be around and she made our experience that much more enjoyable. She also gave us the option to choose which surprise we wanted which I thought was cool. I know it's not technically a surprise anymore but whatever! If you get a surprise it costs extra because you're paying for the little toy, you get the regular sized drink. The cup that the drink and surprise come in is hilariously large but once you get the surprise out and tear the cup it's a normal size. We all enjoyed our drinks! I got the chizu strawberry green tea and it tasted kind of watered down despite it being freshly made. I think I'm just used to getting super sweet drinks and was expecting something of the sort. But when I took breaks from the drink, it actually was pretty good. I enjoyed the green tea flavor along with the slight sourness and sweetness of the chizu and strawberry. Overall, coming here was a very positive experience! Customer service, vibes, and uniqueness were all there. My drink was good but nothing too special. This place is super cute for photo oops and the staff are nice. It's popular for there cups with plushies but I personally don't think it's worth the $6 up price. I actually adjusted the sweetness for all 4 of my drinks and for the signature I also got less brown sugar but it was still WAY TO sweet. Heard about this place and since I was in the neighborhood, I thought I'd stop by to try their drinks! Interior is super instagrammable and so cute. When you enter, there is a kiosk to your left kind of hidden in the wall decor. That's where you order. The employees are super nice and helpful but I noticed a lot of people got really confused on where to go order because they also have a counter at the back by the restroom where you would assume you order. Some signage to show the kiosk would be nice. Also I noticed that this was a popular place for parents to bring their kids. By the time I was leaving, there were 5 or 6 kids running around screaming lol. I ordered the mung bean pandan latte and added pink honey boba and the surprise plush. I also got the 10 yen coin waffle. The drink took a while to make but I think it was worth it because it was sooooo good. I enjoyed the chewy boba as well. The surprise plush was pretty cute but I was bummed that while the cup looked so large, I think only half the cup had actual drink in it lol. Bummer because the latte was really good. Next time I'll definitely pass on the plush and just get a drink. Came here on a Saturday at 6ish. Was able to find parking easily for 3 cars, 13 of us in our group. It's pretty busy inside. It's a small shop but had a few tables and was decorated with cutesy flowers. Most of the other customers used their kiosk to order, we ordered with the cashier. We had 2 different cashiers and both were super nice, friendly and helpful. Selection of drinks were great, all the kids loved their drinks, bear shaped jug and absolutely cute hello kitty surprise toys. Mixed review in actual drinks though. Teas were a hit. They were very accommodating I. Customizing flavors/drinks. Coffee was ok. Dad liked his, but the others thought it wasn't that great (Da Viên was preferred). Salted cheese topping was not good. It was very very runny vs the thick rich foam that we enjoy at other shops. Mochi donuts were delicious! We got a dozen and devoured it! Flavors were good and texture was spot on soft, chewy with the right amount of sweetness. The crew was amazing though, super friendly, and we got our drinks very quickly. They were on their a game. I was in town from AZ visiting and this was all I wanted to try after seeing the viral hello kitty cups on social media. I drove there on purpose to get there early when they opened at 11am. When I tried to order I was told that they didn't have any HK cups. Dude at the counter had no clue about HK cups and had to ask someone in the back. This was my first time at Bober Tea's Garden Grove location and it's honestly one of the cutest shops ever. You can order your drinks either at the counter or at the self serve kiosk. They have a pretty wide array of drinks, including a few non dairy options, so there's definitely something for everyone. I ordered the Chizu Strawberry Green Tea and I thought it was refreshing and tasty. You can also ask for your drinks to be less sweet as well depending on what it is you order. The service is also great at this location, too. The person who made my drink also delivered it to my table. Obviously if it's super busy, it may not always be that way, but it was very nice of them at that time. As I mentioned, I think it is one of the cutest tea spots. The shop is adorned with cute decorations and Instagram worthy photo features as well. There are also a few tables inside, so it's a great hangout spot for small groups! I always thought Bob was short for Robert, but now I understand that Bob is actually short for Bober Tea & Coffee. The cafe is on the smaller end, but don't let the size fool you, because I always tell myself big things come in small packages . In this case, randomly selected plushies came with the small packages that are boba drinks, which is why my wife wanted to come. Who knew EA games now sells boba with loot boxes/microtransactions? She ended up getting a Hello Kitty plushie which is what she wanted, so that was cool. Service was 5/5. The staff member at the front patiently walked us through the different options and even served us our food instead of us going up there to pick it up. The drinks were decent, but wow was there a lot of ice in drink. You'd think my drink sank the Titanic itself. The cotton candy mochi donut was good, though on the pricier side. My sister basically begged for my family to come in here because she saw tons of people walking out with the trending surprise drinks so we went in! The place itself surprised me. It was really bright, clean, and super pretty. The place was nicely decorated, and it was empty when I walked in. The employees are nice and very helpful. There was an employee that told me and my sister that we could order on their self checkout kiosk. In order to get a surprise toy in your drink, you would have to order it under the drink size option. The kiosk only takes card, but you can pay cash at their register. I wish the employees mentioned that, but their register was hidden. Also, there's only one self checkout kiosk, and with people not knowing about the register, they just let people create big lines at the kiosk. I got the Chizu Matcha Green Tea, and it tasted great. The employee advised me to mix up the cream with the drink. My sister got the Roasted Oolong Milk Tea with Pink Boba in the surprise cup. I didn't think the surprise drink was worth it because it's about $3.50 for a small, unlicensed toy. Though, it does seem like it would be fun for kids! The Pink Boba however, it was chewy and tasted great. I didn't see it so I'm unsure whether or not it's actually pink. The mochi donuts are soft, pretty, and they are really well decorated. I'm not a fan of mochi donuts, but these were okay! This place is definitely fun to look at, and it's a place to get those surprise toy drinks if you want one. I didn't get inside to order until about 5:36pm (so about an hour wait...) and then you wait AGAIN for your drink which is about another 30-40mins. I think it was just honestly the time I went! It's supposed to be a surprise, but you can actually pick your plushie. The drink itself was just okay, and after removing the plush, the cup is kinda small. I finally got to try this place out with my cousins. The staff were very friendly and the store was super clean! I'm honestly glad they had a kiosk so we could take our order because we took a while. I'll only be reviewing the drink I got since I wasn't able to get my cousin's opinion on their drinks. Drink: + Chizu Strawberry Green Tea ($6.90) with add-ons: pink boba ($ ) and make it a surprise cup ($ ): The drink itself is delicious! I truly enjoyed the strawberry green tea and the house-made chizu tied it together. The drink is very small, it only looks like you're getting a lot because the cup it comes with when you get the surprise cup is huge. Keep in mind, it's huge bc they have to put the surprise at the bottom. The surprise cup is honestly very fun and the anticipation of not knowing what you'll get is going to keep wanting to go back for more. This place seemed busy when I went saturday afternoon. The hello kitty mini plush keychain was cute. I decided to try their jasmine with honey green tea and add the surprise cup. The service was quick and the servers were friendly. The atmosphere is relaxing and there were groups of people just hanging out at their tables. You could come here to work a bit but I recommend some headphones if you need to concentrate cause it does get kinda loud from all the different people talking. Their decorations around the cafe are beautiful and vibrant. I like the theme. I definitely want to come back again and try their milk tea series. The mini plush was so cute I think I might get it again next time. I think since it's summer right now it's hello kitty summer themed plushies.
