A (coffee?) stained curtain. Cafe employees watching Netflix after they serve you. I'm genuinely convinced this is intentional, It reminds me of a simpler time like going over to a friend's place and hanging out in their living room. I had a matcha affogato and my partner had an immortality tea. Both delicious and served with a genuine smile. Walked in after a late dinner and definitely wasn't expecting an eclectic collection of furniture and fish tanks with a bunch of people working on laptops and watching a movie on a couch together. Definitely an interesting sight to see. Almost reminded me of visiting an uncle's house after school in the 90s or something. There was one person taking care of everything so service was a little slow (granted it was getting close to closing), but they were very nice and explained the different menu options to us. Anyway, we got a genmaicha milk tea with half sweetness and agar boba. Still felt like it was on the sweeter end but the tea had a nice toastiness to it but I wish I tasted more tea flavor. I heard great things about this place and went because I saw several videos online calling it some of the best matcha in OC. But upon my arrival I was left in absolute shock and unfortunately not in a good way:( Immediately when you walk inside you can't help but notice how dirty and disheveled the shop looks. I'm like 99% sure the owners are living in there, and this is by no means me judging them it's just a genuine health concern. There is a stagnant black algae covered fish tank, there are multiple couches covered in dirty sheets, trash and random items scattered everywhere, and just an overall unpleasant smell. It tasted like strawberry juice with some chunks of the fruit. Super cute place. I like how casual it is. There are plenty of chargers for studying and cozy couches to lounge around are. The general atmosphere is like staying over at your rich aunts crash pad. They have so many games, poker, mandala, chess, poker, etc etc. I believe they also have a gaming station and a TV. The place is kind of hard to find because it's not facing the parking lot you have to walk around the building and the entrance is facing the street. Then the order station is further in the cafe so don't turn around! It's just around the corner. Barista was super nice as well, the drinks are actually pretty strong because it kept me up. This was a chill spot. We went here late one night while on vacation in socal. It did feel more like someone's home/hangout spot than a boba shop. It was still chill. The drinks were okay. Very homey feeling! There's a bunch of couches and even a couple of aquarium tanks. At 10pm on a Sunday night, the register was down and had to pay via venmo. It's great that they offer 5% for bringing your own bottle, it's a good incentive to help reduce plastic waste. It took maybe 10-15 minutes for the drinks, but there was a party behind me and there was only one gal working, so it's understandable. Got an Immortality Lychee at $4.75 (filled a little more than half my 0.75L camelbak) and TnT (matcha jasmine, most caffeine in the menu) at $5.5. Immortality Lychee Tea had so much flavor without being too sweet! It was refreshing also. The TnT was floral of course, and I probably would get both again.
