a woman working behind the counter

I came here about 2 weeks ago to try their soup, I'd been trying to get here for a while but it's difficult because they close at 3:30pm. I made it just in time. I decided to get the half sandwich and small soup special. (Chicken orzo) The sandwich I got was the dill turkey, they forgot to put my soup in the bag even though I paid for it. Lame!! I should have checked the bag but come on, it's a soup place!! My mom got a grilled cheese with bacon. My choc chip cookie was nothing special. Only take out, no tables to eat in. This place is a little pricy for what it is but my sandwich was pretty good. I never made it back during a time they were open to get the soup they owe me, probably now it's too late but I think about it every time I drive by!

Chicken Caesar salad

Went to Bobette's in their new location because I wanted to do a soup and salad for lunch. Decided on their Caesar salad with chicken and the chicken orzo soup. I will say the soup is pretty solid. Full of ingredients, lots of body, and definitely has the homemade taste. Crackers were 100x better than anything in the store. The salad was just ok. The lettuce was fresh, there was some parmesan cheese on top, the dressing was just not good. Much too runny and had that vinegar flavor. If you're going to only make one dressing in house, it's got to be Caesar. It just needs that homemade taste. There wasn't much chicken either. It just didn't feel like an $9 salad. Overall it was ok, service was friendly, everyone was social distanced and wearing masks like you'd expect. I'll go back there for soups and probably give a sandwich a try.

I used to come here quite frequently when I was in the area on a frequent basic. They are small and are really a take out place. I used to get lunch from here. Positive..the food. I don't know what spices they use but they still remain the best place in my mind to get a chicken sandwich. Their chicken has such a distinctive taste, one that has never been replicated at least for me. Suffice to say the food is a 10. I have not been there in awhile but the thing that bothered me when I did go is that people did not wear gloves to prepare the food. Normally that would be a deal breaker for me but their food is so good I went anyway. But that was a biggie and it bothered me. It's been awhile so maybe that's changed. If you've never been and are looking for something to try, really do consider getting one of their chicken sandwiches.

I'll start with the positives: service is always fast and friendly, location is convenient, soups are homemade (they always have at least 5 different types available) and prices are fair. I've been getting lunch here for the past few years, but its certainly not my top pick. Everything I've had is just okay, nothing has really wowed me. My recent visit the lobster bisque was much too thick. The grilled cheese was also just average. All their breads are store bought as I have seen the bags on their counter. The corned beef soup on St. Patty's day is one thing I look forward to, just wish I didn't have to wait all year for it. Their parking is also a bit annoying. They are located on a corner lot and there are no designated spaces, just an open unmarked area. Often I park in a straight line but when get back to my car to find it surrounded by other cars parked in all different directions. Lastly, their ordering/paying system is a bit unorganized and chaotic. Once you order everyone awkwardly just stands around. There's not enough room for a line to be formed so walking in when its busy is like a guessing game of who's ahead of you. Maybe a number system would be the way to go.

I really like the new location. The online ordering and pick up window is convenient. The soups are great. I enjoy the chicken orzo and the gazpacho. The sandwiches look good. Lots of regulars come here, and they have been in business a long time.

Truly one of the best! But definitely the friendliest! :)

Great down home soups and sandwiches-can't beat this place-takeout -no seating. Which is not an issue.

The warm Brussels tower paired with a crispy risotto cake, sweet plumped dried cranberries, and the most incredible whipped parmesan dressing! Perfection! My son always raved over their Mac N' cheese and this is where he wanted us to take him for his 22nd birthday, he wanted their Mac N' cheese, so both my son and my other son's girlfriend ordered the mac & cheese. They took about four bites and my son decided it's different. It's not like it used to be doesn't taste right. Nonetheless, he was disappointed on his birthday. Beside that, our food was good. But the first noticeable thing was our server a waitress, she was pretty rude even though we were very nice to her. After we'd gotten home my other son looked it up and seen a few reviews on the service of this very same waitress/server. We dined there on 05/06/26 . And got there about 8:30-9:00pm

The pretzel bites were also salty and bready nuggets of deliciousness. Service was great and friendly! We ordered wings and the special tacos of the day which were eye of the round tomatillo tacos with pico. We get the buffalo sauce and cajun dry rub on our wings which were 5 stars. The tacos not so much. For $15 the three tacos were tiny, 3 pieces of eye of the round on two tacos, 4 on third. The pico was tomatoes with a tiny piece of jalapeno and onion in water, weird. The tomatillo sauce was ok, but not the best. We LOVE this place but these tacos missed the mark. Service was good. At the end, Lauren took over. She was friendly and introduced herself to us and others at the bar. She mostly cashed us out, but we liked her friendliness. Go with confidence, it's a great local bar/restaurant with good, friendly service.

Growing up in a home with three sisters, Voll had several years experience of working in the kitchen as well as her parents' food establishments. After graduating with a degree in finance, Voll came up with an idea to open her own eatery. After some experimentation with her sisters in their parents' kitchen, it was decided that Voll's comfort food eatery would be exclusively dedicated to macaroni & cheese: a dish that most people have grown up with. The first Mac N' Out opened up at the Interstate 95 Northbound service center in Darien, with a standalone location opening in Milford the following month. The menu features at least 20 varieties of macaroni & cheese (from traditional to Mediterranean to Mexican) as well as "mac munchies", "mac wraps" and "Mac salads". Following the success of the first two locations, a take-out only location opened in Bridgeport in 2015. As of 2026, only the Milford location is still operating. I recently visited Mac N' Out with my younger son while we were in the area. It just so happens that my younger son's favorite food is Mac & cheese, so he was delighted to have lunch at an eatery that exclusively serves the classic comfort dish. We were so overwhelmed by all of the different toppings and flavor varieties. My son ordered the kid's portion of "Grandma's Mac" (white cheddar & American cheese), which came with apple slices and juice. I ended up ordering the "Fourth of July Mac" (Hummel Beef Franks, applewood bacon & cheddar cheese). This combo was very nostalgic for me, as my mother frequently made Mac & cheese with cut up Hummel hot dogs for me when I was a little boy. Both dishes were served to us still simmering in miniature cast iron skillets. The mac & cheese is very hot when it comes to you, but it's so delicious! I paired up my dish with a bottle of Foxon Park White Birch Beer. My son and I had a great experience at Mac N' Out and we would love to return to the future. There are so many more combos that we need to try!

Second visit here because I was extremely disappointed a month or two back from my first visit…read more Walked in about noon on a Saturday, the place was steady with takeout with no other guests dining in I was greeted warmly by the young lady working the front. Trying to stay safe and basic, ordered the plain macaroni and cheese, so I can get a baseline. I also ordered a fountain drink. With the tip it was $15 and change. I took a seat after filling up my fountain drink, and waited about 10 minutes for the mac & cheese As I'm waiting for my order, a Scooby Doo cartoon is playing on the not needed television in my left ear. From my right ear, I'm listening to the staff worker in the kitchen singing to what sounds like Italian music. Could've been Spanish music. A little bit disturbing, as the music and the worker were both quite loud Within 10 minutes, my order arrives. The cast-iron pan with the macaroni and cheese in it, a couple of napkins, and a fork. Now I may be old school, or maybe I'm missing something. Why can't this restaurant serve the food with a plate and a spoon for serving out of the cast-iron pan? I'm getting older. I'm not in college or high school anymore eating food out of a cast-iron pan. I actually like to sit down and enjoy a plated meal, whether at home or out paying good money. The only exception I could see would be grinders. But I want a plate here! And if you're gonna serve it in a cast-iron pan, I want a spoon. I was expecting a flashback to the awful mac & cheese I had last time I was here. Instead, I got a very creamy cheesy sauce and an almost al dente elbow macaroni. The serving was generous in the small cast-iron pan. I did find myself using salt and pepper, as I didn't taste any seasoning at all other than the breadcrumbs on top that I mixed in, with this order So I'm gonna stand with four stars, even though I almost want to give it another three. Thank you to the gracious server, without you, it would've been back to three stars. In closing, I drove an hour and almost 20 minutes down to retry this place. I went out of my way..... For future reference, for in door dining guests, it really would be nice to serve plates with the mac & cheese, and the cast-iron pan and maybe over a pot holder. A serving spoon is a must if you're gonna share this dish with somebody. Anybody older than college age will appreciate the plate or bowl to enjoy this meal from... trust me

When we went in, we were the only people, but that changed 3 minutes into our experience - it was customer after customer after that. I think a lot of guys with hands on jobs come here to buy breakfast before work (it is convenient, cheap, and delicious). I finally decided on one of their specials which was a grilled cheese on sourdough. It came with bacon, avocado, tomato, and cheese. My mom wanted a traditional American breakfast so she had the platter - 3 eggs, bacon, and toast, with a side of coffee. Altogether it came out to $20 which was really good. We were in no rush, and I think they saw that so they prioritized their orders. They have milk (whole, oat, and half and half) and sugar for the coffee on a table to the right of the counter. While I waited, I admired the plants they had all around the windowsill. I was also loving all the natural lighting coming in. We noticed it was a bit cold inside. The bathroom is clean and warm. After about 15 minutes, our food was ready. Each half of my sandwich was big. I could see all the crispy bacon, the gooey cheese, the fresh avocado and tomato, and the perfectly crispy bread. The first bite was magnificent and so was the rest. The only complaint was that it did feel a but too oily. My mom's food was also good. The eggs looked great and the bacon was crispy just like she likes it. The only complaint with hers was that it seemed like instead of butter for the toast, they used congealed bacon fat. Overall, we had a great experience. Although it seemed like there were only 2 workers - one taking orders, and another cooking - they were very efficient.

The sandwiches are really good and they have a nice little outdoor seating area in the warmer months. Some of the food is not homemade but they still do a good job overall. I would say it's a little pricey because I tend to spend around $40 to $50 on breakfast for 3 of us. We usually get two sandwiches and a breakfast platter plus a drink and it adds up quickly. Wait time is usually about 15 minutes. They get busy but they keep it moving. Pro-tip: add cherry peppers to your favorite breakfast sandwich for a nice kick in spice and flavor.
