We went here for lunch on a busy Saturday afternoon. When we arrived we were seated right away. The place was super busy. They had one side of the restaurant open and they were moving and grooving. The server was nice she took our order and our food came out very quickly. We had the shrimp tempura, scallops appetizer, crab cakes, and shrimp tacos. All of the food was good and it was nice and hot when it came out. Even though it was busy in there they didn't rush us while we were there. The prices for the food were reasonable. I was blown away by the food here. The blackened scallops were perfectly cooked and the corn and avocado salsa was delicious. Sweet and creamy with a touch of line. The bbq pulled pork firecrackers were also great. The wonton chip was crispy and the portion of meat was good for an appetizer. I definitely will be back to try more of the menu. Trying this place at Milford for a late lunch with my partner. We arrived upon opening for the day and as the first dining customers of the day got all the attention The server provided the menus and daily specials. I ordered the Sudden Bitch cocktail made with vodka and fruit blends, very good. Per suggestion I tried the crab cakes and my companion opted for the Buffalo chicken sandwich both were delicious. Before leaving I tried another cocktail the Mad Monkey this was made with. Vodka, Rum and mixed fruits liquors, like a rum punch tasted similar that the sudden Bitch sweeter and with the banana notes to the end. Inside is nice and inviting to spend a nice time. I stopped here with friends before a concert and we had a train to catch so we were in a little bit of a rush. There was a large party inside so our service was sort of delayed. We started with the shrimp with toasted garlic. The sherry sauce it came in was the most delicious thing I've had in a long time; I wanted to drink it. By the time we were finally able to put in our entree orders, we had to ask for them in to-go containers so we wouldn't miss our train. The waitstaff was so nice and accommodating and they apologized for the delay. Everyone's food was delicious. I would definitely return for a meal when I have more time to sit and enjoy it. read more

Casual atmosphere with upscale food and great cocktails. This restaurant is situated in downtown Milford near the waterfront so parking is rough. There are large booths and some four top tables in the bar area and a quieter restaurant area separated by the kitchens. The staff is friendly and professional. read more

The patio is very nice, mostly covered. Has high tops under awning and low tops with umbrellas. You can sit at the high tops when it is raining because they can zip closed the sides of the awning to enclose it. The only thing is the dumpsters can be seen from the high top tables. Wish they could find a way to block that view. The music on the patio was being played at the perfect volume for ambience but allows for conversation. The swordfish was thick and perfectly cooked. The skirt steak was cooked as requested and had a very nice chimichurri sauce. The sides of the entrees were well balanced with the protein. Our wait staff was attentive and polite. Our waitress specifically was bubbly and brought a great vibe. We came for lunch on Mother's Day and it was surprisingly not crowded. End up being a nice quiet lunch. Highly recommend! read more

More than four stars. We have gone here multiple times recently. So far everything has been really tasty. We've had salads, with grilled chicken, with scallops, tacos were yummy, selection of beers, moscow mules, and a few appetizers. Salads were always done with fresh greens, good vegetables, well distributed dressings. Mixed drinks very good. My experience is the best establishments in the milford area are the set of downtown restaurants. The parking can be tough on weekends, if you park in Fowler park, its an easy walk across the footbridge back over to the downtown restaurants. read more

We went to Milford, CT for a competition so we planned a team dinner at Citrus on Saturday night. And we only have one and half hours from sitting down to finish. Total 30 people includes half of kids aged between 7-13, (one youngster 3-yr old) and all parents. I had to admit, I don't usually give 5 stars to restaurants unless they really worth it. Citrus is one of the few! The food selection is beyond expectations for our group, everyone was so happy for their order. The service is top of the line. Manager Megan is the BEST! She and I worked on the plan one week prior to. She is very detailed oriented and thoughtful. We arrived on time, all the meals were prepared and served within 15mins! (The kitchen had done excellent job to prepare food and serve on time). It was also my daughter's birthday so we brought our own cake, Megan and team accommodated with cutting and distributed to the guests. We left on time after one and half hours later. This spot is totally one of the hidden gems downtown Milford! Never a rowdy crowd at all - but awesome drinks and food. Went in and had a few of the Canteen Spirits Drinks for the first time and really enjoyed them. Decided to try out the clam and bacon flatbread, and enjoyed every bite of it. One of the best parts of this spot is the ice ledge at the end of the bar to keep your drinks cold! Such a cool and unique part that sets Citrus apart from many of the other bars downtown Milford. Delicious Friday lunch here today; it was quiet because we arrived after 1:30 pm but the service was fast and friendly. Drinks came fast from the great selection of wines, spirits and cocktails. The food menu is somewhat limited but enough to find something for most tastes. The bread was tasty but better without the citrus flavored but which was too sweet for my taste. Appetizers were Shrimp and Roasted Garlic with white beans, broth and garnished with raw slivered beets - a delicious dish but a little under seasoned, which actually was true of most of the food. Salt and pepper were provided and used. The pork dumplings, a little bland even with the soy dipping sauce, but huge, nicely cooked and presented. Both salads; Arugula with salmon, and cucumber, tomato and avocado with scallops were delicious , in fact the scallops were perfectly seasoned and some the biggest and best I've ever eaten. Burger was good - cooked as ordered and the penne a la vodka with chicken was a 7/10 - just a little acidic and not quite creamy enough, but delicious nevertheless. At $120 for four was about what you'd expect to pay for quality food and drinks. Would return when in the area which isn't a bad recommendation given how many eateries thee are in the area. read more

I sat at the bar with friends. Food was very good and exactly what I expected from the description from the menu and priced reasonably for what I got. I had the grilled swordfish and it was a very generous portion and cooked perfectly. The drinks were made with perfection and the service was efficient but not super friendly just very professional which is fine. The only complaint I have is to have to sit there with Fox News in my face and not what I want when trying to get away from the day to day BS. I don't want MSNBC on either just no news channels! Sports are fine but turn off the news and that was enough for me to choose somewhere else next time. The food and drink wasn't outstanding enough for me to overlook it. Been here many times and always great but last night in particular they had a ribeye special and it was one of the best meals I've ever had. A beautiful perfect ribeye, huge and perfectly grilled and they did a gorgonzola cream sauce that was out of this world. I added on lobster mashed potatoes and a shrimp cocktail and it was a steakhouse level experience without steakhouse prices. Speaking of prices, their shrimp cocktail is only $6! The beer list was a good size so if you're looking for something out of the ordinary rotation, this might be the place for you. In terms of food, it was good for the most part with only one miss. The BBQ crispers started off the meal with a bang, would highly recommend! For my main I ordered sliders and steak tacos. The sliders slid harder than a drunk frat bro into Dua Lipa's DMs. However the tacos missed the mark severely. The steak didn't taste seasoned at all and the overall tacos were pretty bland. In addition, the shredded Mexican blend cheese didn't fit in right. I feel like a cotija would have been the right choice for these tacos. The food was very good and our waitress was very pleasant and attentive . The only thing that was disappointing was that I like to check out the menu before I go to get a good idea of what I want so I don't spend a lot of time deciding when I arrive. I had pretty much had my mind set on a particular dish. When I arrived and we were handed the menus there was a $12 price difference of what was posted online and what was printed on the menu. That is a huge jump in price. I spoke to the waitress and all she could say was yes that's very upsetting. So I ended up ordering a sandwich instead of the meal I had originally planned on having and I paid the dollar extra for a tiny portion of coleslaw. I don't recommend the coleslaw. We were a party of 6 adults and I felt we were squished into a table that was to small for us but we made due. Our original party was for 10 so I'm not sure how they would have seated us then. We ended up having a very nice time overall. The meals we had were flavorful and enjoyed by everyone. My wife and I go to Citrus probably every other week(26 to 30 visits a year). Generally the food is very good and the Waitresses are pleasant and attentive. When we received our Bill today we were charged a dollar each for butter(between a teaspoon and a tablespoon) for the first time ever. I figure that we spend north of $2,000.00 at the restaurant including the tip, per year. A small thing ,yes, but just another unnecessary annoyance that we Americans are dealing with on a daily basis. I'm here for an hour, at the bar for taco's. The bartender is an older guy who looks like he is miserable, in pain, either those or just very tired. He has barely said a word to me. I had to flag him down to get his attention three times. "I hate to bother you but can I get a menu?" He seems bored, unhappy.
