It's very spacious and has an older kind of setting. They also offer a lot of outdoor seating. Nice decorum. It''s also located downtown so you can just walk to the park or sit in front of the waterfall if you don't wanna dine in. Food [5/5]: I got the cuban tacos and they were extremely delicious I'd come back for these again. Their entire menu sounds delicious to be honest so I'd like to try more things from there. But the tacos were very filling and the potatoes on the side were a great add on. The wrap itself was sweet and tasty. Service [5/5]: There was a lot of college kids in there and they're honestly running it well. The adults are probably in the kitchen but they're very friendly and I had the woman with the sleeve tattoo as my server and she recommended the cuban tacos. Fast and friendly service is always great I was in there for no longer than 30 minutes. Loved it. Overall I'd recommend! I just had breakfast here this morning and already can't wait to go back! My husband and I have been looking for a breakfast spot and think we've found it! There were so many amazing things on the menu but we settled on the chicken arepa and African hash. Their menu items are so unique! I can't wait to try them all. This little breakfast spot in Milford, CT is not at all what you would expect, based on the street view and decor. I was expecting a typical American breakfast spot, but instead got a wonderful melange of Indian and African influences. I had the pork belly with two fried eggs, truffle pesto, and portobello. First stop of our road trip to Cape Cod. This was rated the best brunch in the state of Connecticut on a recent list of top brunches by state. Was intrigued by their menu. Definitely a bit of a twist on many of their dishes. Ordered the duck omelette with Indian spices, a pan seared pork belly with eggs, a chicken arepa with crispy onions and an eggs Benedict (not called that) with spinach. All of the dishes come with potatoes. We also ordered an iced matcha latte. On the pricey side but you definitely get a good amount of food. Worth a try but won't be rushing to be back since it's a bit out of the way from home. Should come when you're hungry because you do get a lot of food. Our server was friendly and helpful. Came here for the first time, with a friend of mine, to catch up on a Friday morning. A bit off the beaten path in downtown Milford, this place has charm, and an eclectic decor. We got there at 9:30 and were quickly seated and quickly attended to by our server who didn't rush us. She was friendly and professional. Riding down the 95 and thought we should stop somewhere for breakfast. We definitely made the right decision. Food was amazing. I've wanted peaches in my breakfast for a while, and the peaches and cream French toast was nothing like I have had anywhere, but soooo delicious. My husband had the pork belly, so many flavors but soooo deliciously tasty. Servers were attentive and always coming around to top off the coffee. I had bookmarked this place for a long time, but there was always a long line of people waiting so never got a chance to try it. On a cold February day, with a winter storm advisory, was passing this place and saw no line so decided to go in. The place is like a hodgepodge of various decorations from paintings to old books to antique clocks, pictures, flowers, you name it. I was seated immediately and could tell this is a very family oriented restaurant, with music from the 30's playing and a very friendly staff. The waitress recommended the Duck Burrito which she mentioned was featured on the Food Network. Not in the time to explore a lot I went ahead and ordered it. It is an impressive burrito, filled with duck meat and eggs and comes with potatoes. This place may have ruined all other breakfast spots for me. I'm new to the area and tried this place for the first time and was completely blown away. The top of the menu is full of breakfast dishes that are extremely unique. I got the duck wrap (their signature item) and my girlfriend got a French toast special. The duck wrap was like no other breakfast entree I've ever had, with all the flavors you want in a savory breakfast plus some that I've never had before and now can't get enough of. The French toast special was simply the best either of us had ever tried, just perfect in every way. This space is very unassuming. It's not very big and is filled with quirky decor that makes it a very comfortable place to eat on a weekend morning. The staff is great too, fast and helpful. I met a good friend for brunch in Milford. It was my first time, so I called ahead to double check the payment situation. I had planned on paying for the meal as I was celebrating my friend's birthday. The Corner is cash only, but they do offer a ATM at the restaurant. There is free street parking surrounding the restaurant. Even with a local fire parade I was able to snag a spot right out front. The person that welcomed me, showed me to a small table and let me wait for my friend. The restaurant is on the smaller side but warm and welcoming. I ordered a coffee and looked over a paper menu. The restaurant offers paper menus and an online menu and payment system. I had explained to my waitress that I was celebrating a birthday for the friend that I was meeting. She came back carrying a small happy birthday sign for the table. It was thoughtful gesture. My friend was pleasantly surprised when she sat down to join me. Even though I had been at the restaurant for about 15 minutes, I still haven't made up my mind when my friend sat down. After re-reading the menu a few times I settled on the soft pulled chicken tacos with eggs and a side of homefries. my friend chose the braised pork belly over eggs and toast with a whole bunch of other good-looking things. She also got a side of homefries with her meal. Both of us were very happy with our choices. Although the restaurant was very busy, they allowed us to sit and chat a little after our meal. The Corner is a breakfast experience not to be missed. The owners are friendly, the waitstaff is busy and efficient. I've sat at the counter both times I've been to The Corner, but the tables inside are all cute and outside seems great if the weather allows. The stuffed French toast is a hollowed-out baguette filled the previous day with fruit and cream or cream cheese--really, really delicious. The best I've ever had. My companion had the Indian duck in phyllo and said if he'd traveled halfway around the world to come eat that, it would have been worth it. I'm on a mission to show my partner around Connecticut so I decided to come here for brunch because I needed to visit a nearby store afterwards. I'll say it's more expensive and busier than the last time I visited in 2019, with the outdoor seating being fully utilized. They have gotten a lot of recognition for their unique tasty dishes and at home ambiance, being featured on several food shows. We shared and tried several items including the peaches and cream stuff French toast. This had a deep fried taste to me. It was crispy in a good way packed with soft sweet juicy peaches. They ran out of tres leches cake so instead of getting the trio platter I forced myself to pick the pecan crusted French toast topped with cranberries; it wasn't my favorite dish. My favorite was the tasty pan seared pork belly served over a toasted baguette, topped with two medium eggs, pesto, mushrooms, and crumble bacon, and home fries on the side. We also had coffee, tea, and hot cocoa. The lemon grass tea was pretty but the flavor was too strong for my 9yr old, so I finished it for her and replaced it with a s'mores hot cocoa, which was way more up her alley. Even though I got bumped a few times sitting in the center of this small packed place and all our food barely fitted on the small table, I'm still down to come back and try more fun unique tasty dishes. We came by on a Sunday morning for some brunch and were quickly seated though there was always a quick turnover of tables and people coming in and out. I got the African hash which A Spicy Beef & Lentil Hash Served Over An English Muffin Topped With Poached Eggs, Crispy Potato Carvings, & Bearnaise Sauce. Think eggs Benny kicked up about three notches. It was really one of the most fun to eat and enjoyable breakfast dishes I've had all year. The flavors were just a great mix and not something you get out of breakfast. The home fries are a big winner too. My dining companion had peaches and French toast. I barely got a nibble of it and she found it terrific without being too sweet. All also: be sure you tip your servers. We saw a table of five leave a $3 tip on a $120 breakfast. Just shameful. If you can't afford to tip the server don't eat here. We ended up leaving ours a little something extra. Be kind to them. They make their living on tips!! So glad we visited. Last time I was here I tried a savory egg dish which was delicious but I had to come back to try their sweet dishes. I went to The Corner in Milford on a Sunday morning over this summer. I was anticipating a long line, but the wait was very reasonable, less than 5 minutes. They have outdoor seating available, but we opted to sit inside. Street parking was also very easy to find. We ended up ordering three dishes, the Pan Seared Pork Belly over Toasted Baguette, Mexican Breakfast and the African Hash. They also had some interesting juices, so I got a guava nectar. The serving sizes were good and the menu items were very unique. I didn't expect to have this many options. I only deduct a star because I feel like the meal could have been more balanced. I think many American breakfast spots are like this, very decadent and salt forward dishes. I really enjoyed my pork belly on the toast, but think the dish could have been elevated by balancing it with a fresher/more acidic side dish rather than salted roast potatoes. This is just my personal take, I am sure others would enjoy a dish like this. The restaurant has the feel of your grandma's house. Very cute looking and homey. We decided to eat here based on the stellar Yelp reviews. Isn't that what Yelp is for? Note, ( which I did not learn reading Yelp reviews),this is a cash only restaurant which we were told only after being seated. I found nothing on their website which expressed cash only. There is an ATM on site but it really would have been best to know beforehand. To begin, I did not listen to a well renowned chef, restaurant owner and reviewer who advised always checking out the restroom first; if it's dirty/unkempt walk out. Gordon Ramsay has said this 1000 times. The restroom was not clean. The bottom sides of the toilet has accumulated such debris that it's unlikely it's been cleaned in months.The floor and walls clearly needed attention (Unfortunately, I did not heed this precaution, using the restroom after ordering). Decor is odd and random, almost quirky. Tables of old butcher block and not in greatest shape but all of that can be overlooked if food and service make up for it. That is why we all come. We ordered a French Toast Trio which now only includes 2 of the described French Toasts and a Tres Leches instead ( we were only informed of this after order was brought to table--not cool). The peach and apple French Toasts were quite appealing and we did enjoy. The Tres leches was fantastic---just not a French Toast or what was described on the menu. And that is not what we wanted. Real maple syrup can be had at an extra charge. African hash Benedict was a spicy, tasty dish although I did not care for the texture of hash; it was way too soft which rendered English Muffin soggy. There is an outside seating area of about ten tables sectioned off from the public sidewalk by fake bushes and flower planters. Inside, the walls are painted brick red with eclectic knick knacks, pictures, and cloth bound books on antique furniture. Tables are 2-4 tops with enough space between for a person to pass. Tabletops have fresh flowers and condiments in mismatched tea cups. Music was the Bridgerton soundtrack, classical renditions of modern songs. Menus are available in a basket at the door. The owner appeared to be sitting at the bar next to the register and frequently walked around greeting regular customers. The waitress was a professional, right down to bringing waters with the spicy breakfast. The food was great. Both dishes were flavorful with a low building heat. The hash browns were unseasoned which made them the perfect complement to the meal. We ordered the two "famous" dishes, the curried duck burrito and the african hash. Both were amazing.
