    Fried Shrimp with Regular Fries
    Lynda G.

I love the food here. I usually come for the fried crawfish and the catfish but they no longer have the fried crawfish (at least not this location) :-( Tonight I had the fried Calamari which I've had before and it's always good and the fried shrimp. The shrimps are big and not heavily breaded. There's a sauce that comes with the calamari that's delicious. Oh, and did I mention that tonight they are having a masquerade ball. Should be fun.

First I'll start off by saying, please don't be stingy with your sauces. It's degrading to patrons, especially when you forget items, have misprints on the menu, and are newly opened, in a close community, where the residents will likely be your largest revenue. I was working from home today, and hubby suggested we try Bobo's for lunch. We had been eyeing the place for some time, wondering when they would open up. We were going to order from their online menu but the lunch options were charging us double, so I decided to take a break from work, and go over to the restaurant to order in person. They have a QR code posted outside their entrance, so you can order online but I suggest either calling your order in, or just going in person, especially with their menu issues. If you know me, you know I ordered a not-so-mini smorgasbord of delectables, so that I can sample the menu and see if the place is worth a revisit. I ordered a myriad of items and the first issue I experienced was the fact that I was charged $12 for two orders of lemon pepper fries. On the menu they handed to me at the time that I placed my order, the fries were listed as $4 (check my pics). When I asked about the overcharge, I was told that the menu was incorrectly printed. Red flag for me. Anyone who values their customers should have apologized and offered either a refund, or another item that cost the same amount of the overcharge because, if your menu lists a price, then that's what you need to charge until you fix it. What we had: Lemon Pepper Fries - lemon pepper, where? The seasoning was lost on a trail, waiting for a rescue team, because it was nowhere near these fries. Granted, they were fried well but bland, and considering I was charged 2 bucks more for them, you would have thought they tasted good enough to toss on someone's floor, like Puma did Ceasar. Hushpuppies - solid flavor, like corn bread that wants to be savory. They're ok but where's the sauce?? Crab Cakes - the menu said that it was two per order, but we had a few small ones. They are hot garbage. Very fishy smelling, and tasting, and a few of them were fried hard. Not worth the price tag. Again, where's the sauce? No remoulade? Calamari - really nicely fried. Light and crisp. Very good but again, no marinara, or any type of sauce?? Popcorn Shrimp - dangerous...sooo dangerous, and good, but it would have been nice if they came with a sauce. Lemon Pepper Wings - don't pay extra for all drumsticks because it just isn't worth it. This flavor was very salty, and again, I did not get what it's all cracked up to be. They tasted like fired wings, seasoned in salt and pepper. Basic ASF. Chicken Tenders - I got these for our kiddo. I asked for their BBQ sauce on the side, and I also asked for one of each, bleu cheese, and ranch dipping sauces, but was told inoculd only get one for the other wings, since I was already getting the BBQ sauce on the side, and guess what? They didn't pack my BBQ sauce. These were basic tenders. Fried Shrimp & Onion Rings - This combo was really good. Reminds me of City Island. The fry on the shrimp is like KFC extra crispy. I dig this lots, and the best part is that it won't break the bank. Chicken & Sausage Dirty Rice - More like dingy. I'm unsure the chef's definition of dirty rice but I think they may need some further instruction. Hubby ordered this, and it was basically chicken pieces and andouille sausage, with a scant amount of sauce, over bland ass white rice (again, check my pics). Lunch Specials are available, Monday thru Friday, from open to 3p. Each dish comes with 1/2 lb odf seafood, two eggs, two taters, and two pieces of corn, and your choice of sauce. I ordered two for good measure. Lunch #1: Head Off Shrimp with mild Bobo's OG sauce. It's still a little spicy, and definitely high sodium, but everything is good. The shrimp are cleaned, the potatoes are not mushy, the corn is fully engulfed in the saucy flavor, and the eggs are a nice addition. Lunch #2: Snow Crab Legs with spicy Mojojojo sauce. The sauce is sweet with a helluva kick. I'm not one who enjoys working for my food so, I probably wouldn't order this again. Again, it was served with two of each, potatoes, eggs, and corn. If you read my list of items, you had to have noticed that I purchased quite a few fried seafood items. They legit, gave me one small container of bleu cheese sauce, one small container of tartar sauce, one small container of cocktail sauce, and they forgot my BBQ sauce for my daughter's tenders, after being stingy over an extra dipping sauce. I spent over $125 to try them out and see if they were worth another visit. I've definitely had better, and I just don't think they're worth the price. I'm sure they'll make decent money here but, despite them being in super close proximity, I'd probably take the trip to the west side, and hit up the Puerto Plata seafood truck.

    GUMBO
    Jasmine J.

I'm giving 3 stars simply because I feel they have room for improvements. I started off with the "Gumbo". It looked more like a soup than anything. Gumbo is supposed to be hearty and thick to coat the stomach but it had the texture of soup. All I had in my cup was one baby shrimp and a bunch of celery. On to the Boil. I got 1/2 a lb of Shrimp and 1/2 a lb of Black Mussels in Garlic Butter no heat, it came with 1 Potato, 1 Corn and I added Hard Boiled Eggs. The Mussel were very tasty. I scooped the sauce up into the shell with the meat...delicious. My problem is that the shrimp was over cooked to the point it tasted mushy. I give it to them they are taking care of the ladies in the restroom and I love that. They have only been open for about 2 weeks so I'll try again in a few weeks to see if it gets better.

    Moscato

The foods okay. The boil is over season and TOO SALTY. The lobster didn't really have any flavor. Service was okay the waitress was very nice and the wine was good. Otherwise the ambiance is nice with good music. Has much potential.

It was pretty Good for the Prices. Their signature sauce BoBo's OG was super oily and all the seasoning was stuck at the bottom of the combo bag so if you're like me and get a small rice on the side to put your sauce on top of, you will be disappointed. You're just gona make oily rice! BUT wen i rub the shrimps, crab meat or sausage in the "seasoning" It's good! ‍ LoL I would go back but i'm not getting that BoBo's OG ....idk Who made it "Very Populat!" Lol (that's what the waiter said)

This place is amazing! I would've never thought to go here, it is in an area of Co-op city that I am not really around much, but I will start going to more just for this restaurant! The atmosphere is cute, with the staff allowing the customers to write on the wood paneling and great music! The menu has multiple options, but we decided to put together our own steam bag which consisted of, 1pound king crab leg, original bobo's sauce (mild), 2 steamed potatoes (which were so meaty) and one ear of corn that was the right amount for the two of us. That bobo's original sauce is amazing.... I can put that sauce on everything.... We actually got a second order of Cajun fries, just so we can soak them in left over bobo's sauce.... Definitely my #1 recommendation! They don't do alcohol which is nice, only soft drinks and lemonade. One down side... the service was very slow.. not just with our table but with all tables... once we ordered the food came quick, it was just finding someone to order took a very long time... they do have a QR code that you can scan and order yourself.. but I don't really like to do that if there are servers present, because I prefer to tip them! I would recommend, training the serving staff better because they are also using iPads to order so it should be faster and quicker... once this is fixed, this place would be 100%!

Bobo's crab shack is my go-to spot for delicious seafood. The food is always fresh and well-seasoned with their signature BOBO sauce. Their menu includes everything from crab, shrimp and fish to crawfish, mussels and clams. All dishes are served with corn, potatoes and garlic butter. Shrimp and grits is the way to go!! Soooo yummy. Their portions are generous and the atmosphere is very casual and laid back. Their staff is friendly and always happy to answer any questions. I love going here because the food is always delicious and the service is great! Highly recommend!

........amazing lemon pepper French fries. Mini crabs cakes.. Just fell apart and wasn't tasty, very greasy... fried shrimp also greasy... as long as they take to prepare and give you, your takeout, it should be cooked to perfection. The price to high for the goods received. They add the tip to your bill which I chose no, to give cash...

Located where the old Chinese Buffet use to be in Co-Op City. Many people don't even know it's a seafood place there. It's a very family oriented place. It's nothing romantic, and nothing to compare when it comes to decor, and ambiance. You can write on the walls, and write on the tables to say you were there. It was very empty on a Monday night. I wanted to try the Fried Shrimp with their signature Mojojojo sauce. I didn't like the spice. The crab cakes were different than what I am use to tasting, but they were okay. This is the first place I know of to include egg in their seafood bag. I wonder what's that all about. The seafood was seasoned well though.

On point every time. Peaceful atmosphere with delicious food, polite servers, fresh food. You will enjoy the meal. Go for it...

I went to dine and in and didn't have any issues. So I ordered a to go combination pour over rice. It should include sausage, chicken and shrimp like the one I ordered when I dined in. I was charged for the combination pour over rice but when I got home there "NO SAUSAGE." I called and spoke to Sherry who served me. She was not apologetic but stated I could come back for the sausage. Like I have Ntn to do but to drive back when they messed up my order. She then said I can come any day for it. Im like how when another staff can just say they know Ntn about it. She stated she can leave a note with my name and number, I started giving my name and number then she starts talking to someone else and disconnects our call. I call back and talk to a guy and he tells me she is busy. Mind u I was there like 15-20 minutes ago and there wasn't much people there. I explained to him that she disconnected my call when I was giving my information for the wrong order. He asks me for my information but it was obvious he was not paying attention because he kept asking me to repeat. Check your order because they just give customers anything and don't care!!!!

The place is beyond amazing!! All of the seafood was super fresh and flavorful. - the fried shrimp is finger licking good, lightly battered and packed with flavor. Pair it with some fries and ask for the bobo's secret sauce! - the snow crab legs and crawfish combo is perfectly seasoned. - they offer gloves, bibs and moist towelettes if you don't want to get your hands dirty. A great neighborhood joint for seafood and staff is so friendly. Highly recommended!!

The customer service was good and the quantity is good for the price. Only thing is they was light on the sauce. The sauce finished before I was done eating. Was a little sad when I went back the second time and saw the prices went up but it is still very reasonable !

Elwood also brought crayons and paper for him, which was a thoughtful touch. We started with the gator nuggets and frickles. The gator nuggets were our favorite appetizer. The frickles were good, but the batter was fairly thick, which made the pickle flavor a little subtle. For my entrée, I had the fried chicken with collard greens and mac and cheese. The chicken was nicely crispy and came with four pieces, though it was a little overcooked for my taste. The collard greens were on the sweet side, and the mac and cheese could have used a bit more flavor. The highlight of our visit was the service. Elwood was friendly, attentive, and struck the perfect balance of checking in without being overbearing. Overall, the food was a bit mixed for us, but the excellent service, family-friendly touches, and pleasant outdoor seating made for an enjoyable experience. Amazing food, vibe and service!…read more Since I knew we would be in the city Sunday and would probably want to brunch before the concert that night, I looked up a bunch of places and this one kept catching my eye. We almost wouldn't have been able to go because I waited until that day to make reservations and it seemed like they were all booked up. But luckily, my boyfriend had a great idea to call to see if anything was available. Although I was only communicating with an automated system/ai rep, it was able to find reservations for 1:45. We took it and it was worth the wait! This is a very cute spot in Tribeca. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted, checked in for our reservation and seated immediately. Walking up, there is a little outdoor covered seating section that is set on the street next to the sidewalk. Inside, there was a jazz trio performing to the right when you first walk in. As we headed and got to our seats, we saw that behind the bar/counter seating they had the flattop cooking station so you could see the chefs preparing all the food; the bar was also in that area. We knew beforehand about the unlimited drinks option so we of course went with that - $36/person and had like 4 different brunch drink options you can rotate through over the 90 minutes. Our server came over pretty quickly to introduce herself and get our initial order. I was hoping to try out the Biscuits & Cajun Crab Gravy but they ran out of biscuits, so I ended up ordering the Chicken & Beignets instead. Boyfriend went with the Shrimp and Tasso Country Grits. Omg... Everything was delicious! Chicken had the perfect crisp and cook, beignets baked just right so they were soft and well complimented with the blueberry compote. And I had a bit of the grits - so creamy, perfect texture with a unique yet satisfying flavor with the sauce. Could kind of taste the coffee but also felt like there was something like a hint of curry or something in that red sauce - it was very good! Highly recommend checking this place out (make reservations for the weekend!). Because there are more things on this menu we would want to try, we said we have to try to come back very soon
