Alvin & Friends is such a wonderful place. The food is awesome and music is incredible. Alvin (& his wife) are incredibly warm, welcoming. You will never have a bad time or meal here. And the live music is phenomenal.

The food was good. I ordered the oxtail Meal. Oxtail was okay. Rice and peas was okay. I enjoyed the seafood pasta which came with shrimp and salmon in it with a nice spice. The service was wonderful. Very nice decor. I ordered the sangria which was nice. I also ordered the sorrel which was also very nice. I will definitely come back to try other item

Came down from Connecticut to meet one of my girlfriends. I have not been here since 2019 and was craving their delicious mac & cheese. I was not disappointed at all by anything I ate. The mac & cheese was everything. I wish they had a bigger serving of it and I would've just ate that. You were only allowed to select from the brunch menu. Everything else however the chicken the collard greens was incredible. My girlfriend loved her meal. And the meatballs as usual were incredible. The bread pudding OMG words cannot describe how delicious it was. The live jazz music was perfect. Service was great. I will for sure be back and recommended to anyone.

I've been coming to Alvin's for years. Popped in today for brunch. It was OK. The service has dropped off a little bit, but the food is still delicious. The catfish fritters are tasty. not shown here was the catfish with grits and collard greens, which was yummy as well as the chicken fried chicken and waffles, which was quite tasty there's a three dollar up charge if you choose dark meat That is something you're not aware of until the bill arrives other than that, this is a consistently good place. You should definitely come by. You'll enjoy the live music and the ambience while you're here.

Attended for Father's Day dinner, food was amazing , dessert was great! Management & Service was great! Tried Rum Punch & Brownie on the dessert menu both was really good filling and just enough sweetness. Saw the owner very sweet gentlemen checked on us a few times and talked with us great business would definitely recommend to newcomers Walnut Brownie - 10/10 AMAZING!

We went to celebrate Candy's belated birthday dinner at Alvin & Friends. We had a good time listening to the live jazz band. The owner Alvin came and introduced himself to everyone at the table, which I thought was very classy. The restaurant has a very intimate, grown setting. The food was delicious. I had the Catfish with grits and black eye Peas. Birthday girl Candy had the Seafood Pasta, Tasha had the Peas n Rice with catfish croquettes and Diane had the Catfish, Grits without the Blackeye Peas. The bill was reasonable $250 for 4 people wasn't bad at all. Now, the drinks. I had the peach margerita and it was very good and sweet. Diane had the Coconut Martini, Candy had Fruit Punch and Tarsha had the Mojito which she stated was ok could have been better. Overall, we had a great time and I do recommend Alvin & Friends Restaurant. Oh, we'll be back.

I don't have any items I don't like here. I take many out of state visitors to dinner here and they appreciate the taste of the food.

To start, we shared the crispy brussel sprouts Charleston style. These were delicious with the tangy sauce and large flakes of parmesan cheese. For my main, I had the brunch wrap. It comes with chips, but I swapped for fries for an additional charge. The wrap was a good size; I had half and saved the rest for leftovers. It was tasty, but not a ton of flavor. The tater tots were nice and crispy and I enjoyed the fresh tomatoes and avocado. They gave me a huge portion of crinkle cut fries, which also would've been great with a little more seasoning, but they were good when dipped in mayo. My husband got the shrimp and grits and appreciated the large portion size as well. I had a lemonade to drink. It was refreshing since it wasn't overly sweet. Service was great. I look forward to trying the rest of the menu!

Just as their tagline goes, this is undoubtedly a great place to get burgers, beer and grub. It's a…read moresomewhat small place with a great array of options, especially for lunch and brunch. Aesthetically, each table feels like a meal at a family dinner table; it's clear that they wanted that vibe to be translated, and it's done quite well. This is also supported by the service being very friendly and helpful in general. To eat, I had the French toast burger with sweet potato fries. Some others with me had various sides like regular fries and tater tots, and the same thing was present on them that tends not to be at most places: they were all perfectly salted/seasoned. It might seem immaterial, but it's a very good signal when something that simple--yet often neglected in favor of just using condiments to mask it--is executed well. If you're a burger place with fries that taste great without the need for a sauce or condiment, you're doing something right. The French toast burger was likewise fantastic, combining sweet and savory in a great way. To drink, we all got a communal pitcher of the only frozie they had available at the time: a kind of jungle juice vodka slushie. It, too, was great--worthy of multiple rounds. All in all, here's a place that I can't wait to give another visit.

Anytime, I find myself in, and I am in a lot, it feels like in a boat, a special place, private in a cruise boat... The food is composed of Italian and South American dishes, a very rare combination that gives a lot of choices of very delicious meals... From a current Westchester resident, my sister, mom and I were hesitant to go , but we were proved wrong that it was a great restaurant. We were a party of 7, and we all felt cared for, the staff was understanding, and attentive from the moment we sat down to leave. Each member in my party had something diffferent: 1. Chicken sandwich 2. Burger 3. Ahi tuna tacos 4. Carbonora (x2) 5. Chicken capricossa 6. Chicken Parm - and even accommodated vodka sauce instead of regular marinara sauce. Wine was nicely poured, cocktails were tasty (although I didn't love my raspberry martini) beer was cold. The restaurant was clean and tidy, and welcoming. Will be coming back ASAP!

I held off on reviewing this place until trying their breakfast options, and now having loved that too, it's time to share the love. Beyond delicious food, other features make this place shine. The service is quick, and rarely disappoint. The tables vary greatly in size and location on the floor, catering to a broad range of clientele- families, friends and couples all can find a suitable spot. The space itself is large enough to feel energetic but not big to a point of chaos. Nothing here is overpriced and ingredients are invariably fresh. The full package. In short, it's become my go-to casual spot.

They arrived about five minutes before the rest of us and grabbed an empty table while they waited. When we got there, the rest of us got in line to order. There were maybe five people ahead of us and plenty of empty tables. Before we even got to the counter, the owner walked over to our friends and told them they couldn't sit down before ordering. They explained that the rest of their party was already in line, but he kept insisting "that's not how it's done here" and got increasingly agitated. My friends finally asked, "Do you want us to leave?" He replied, "I'm not threatening you," but it certainly felt like he was. If that's the policy, then put up a sign. Put it on the front door, on the menus, or on the tables. Don't publicly scold customers for breaking a rule they had no way of knowing existed. It was embarrassing, especially since these were friends visiting from out of town. We left wondering why the owner was so worked up over people sitting at one of the many empty tables while the rest of their party waited in line to spend money. We've always enjoyed Stanz, but after today we won't be back. We'll be taking our lunch business down the street to Bluestone instead, where we've always been treated warmly.

The busboy brought filled water glasses and made sure the he filled our water glasses. When the food server brought my dish I knew I was in trouble. My overly cooked hamburger was siting on a bun. I enjoyed dipping my French fries in the ketchup and mayo and followed suit with my overly cooked hamburger. You guessed it. My ice tea was never refilled because I never saw the waiter again until he brought the check. I have been coming to this location when it was originally a stand alone building and named the College Diner. I was a customer for years and when it became the Mirage Diner I continued to patronize it. When the Mirage owners sold the property to Iona and built the existing building I was very happy to see a restaurant being built on the ground floor. It is called The Mirage.
