bought what was supposed to be a low miles 2000 Nisson Altima 130,000 miles, they even claimed it had a 15 day 500 mile drivetrain warranty . we bought the car and my wife drove it home over an hour on the freeway, noticed something funny so i took it to a mechanic in town the following morning, only to find out that the subframe and crossmember are shot and it's held together with a couple of straps and if it's not to rusty to fix it could be $3000.00 or more at which time he said it wasn't safe to drive until it was fixed. Called bob and told him to come get the car and i wanted my money back. he told me to drive the car back down there and he'd return our money. I told him the car wasn't safe to drive, at which time he told me that was my mechanics opinion and the only way he'd give us our money back was to drive it back down there because he wasn't coming to get it. So now i'm supposed to risk people's lives by driving it back down there a hour + on the freeway and hope no one gets killed. I couldn't do it, so i had it hauled down on a flat bed for $360.00 and i asked him if he was going to do the right thing and at least pay for half the tow and got a big f-you. you take your life in your own hands buying a car from these people they evidently don't inspect their cars to even make sure they're safe to drive, my wife and other people could have been killed driving it home if that half assed repair had broke loose by hitting a pothole or something. i did get the money back for the car, but now have to take him to court to get the tow fee back. I'm sure a judge will agree that i made the right decision by not risking peoples lives. told me they had to have their mechanic look at it because they believed it was safe to drive. the mechanic i took it to is the owner of a reputable repair shop in Winsted, Mn. if he tells me it's not safe to drive i have to believe them. If i would have drove it after being told it wasn't safe to drive then I would have been liable for anything that happened. These people are Shady as a cloudy day and don't seem to care much once they get your money, know your rights. BEWARE DON"T END UP IN COURT LIKE ME! read more

This is the shadiest lot I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I went up from Indiana, to buy a Mercedes clk 550. Was assured no issues. Verified with the last shop it was with. When I arrived the car was trash, 15 different codes. Bad motor mounts. inoperable locks, seemed like the timing was slipping. Very underpowered for this model. A complete lemon. How do they get away with such outright lies and dodgy business practices. Maybe it's a Minneapolis thing? Terrible don't listen to what bob says or even look. These people are crooks. read more

They had mentioned the transmission was replaced, but who would have thought that they cared so little about their customer's that they would replace it with something that wouldn't last. Bought a 2007 Ford Expedition about a month ago. They did have to jump the vehicle for my test drive and so they "put in a new battery" when I bought it. After the battery died the next day after buying, we took a look under the hood and not only was it an undersized battery but it had quite a bit of corrosion indicating it was not a new battery. I wish they would've just taken a good $150 off the price so we could replace it ourselves if I had known that was going to be the case. With a new and properly sized battery, found a parasitic drain due to rear windshield wiper not being functional (I was aware of this upon purchase) and just needed to disconnect the fuse in order to stop this drain on the battery. At this point had to replace the battery AGAIN, as well as a couple fuses for radio and heat. Ideally, they could have told me this and saved me some $$$ if they inspect their vehicles prior to selling them. Now, car is in the shop for a roughly $1,200 job to replace all spark plugs and coils due to noticeable misfire when driving-- resulting in blinking check engine light and associated rough riding symptoms. Again, ideally they could have warned me of the need for spark plugs/coils if they inspect their vehicles prior to selling them. Without knowing any of this, this vehicle had seemed to be the best deal within my price range with the fewest visible concerns. At this point, this vehicle has been a world of stress. Honestly just wish I would've gotten a heads up, could've gotten a head start on the work or planned ahead when I bought this vehicle a month ago. Good guys with what I hope and would trust to be good intentions, good selection especially if you're in the $2,000-$7,000 range in the present used car market-- just try to go on a weekday when you know you can bring your prospective purchase into your trusted mechanic for a once-over before buying. Don't rush; paying one day out-of-pocket for car rental to ensure my mechanic was available could've saved me $1,000 or more. read more

I usually don't give ratings, let alone 5 stars, but I told these guys I'd leave a review. I knew what car I wanted before I went there so it made the process a lot easier for both of us. But if you don't know what car you want, I'd definitely recommend looking at their inventory. They have so many options. And the prices are actually good. I didn't even feel I had to haggle, which is insane because I always try to when buying things. But I never felt pressured, I felt I could get up and walk away whenever I wanted, they were so nice and easy going. The car I looked at might've needed a battery, but he just threw one in just in case completely free! I'm coming back when my girl needs a car for sure! Oh another thing that really showed me Bob's character was when I asked him if he had a vending machine for drinks and he told me no but had some extra soda and didn't hesitate to give me one! read more

I thought they were good to deal with. I helped my brother get a car. It seems like a fair purchase. The sales people were decent unlike a lot of other places. One thing to note, buying a used car is a crapshoot it's not easy to find a good car. Your best bet is to look at the carafe-if it doesn't have one that is a huge red flag. you will see a lot of dealers trying to offer another thing that looks like a carfax report, that is a big red flag as well. I have found that when you review that report you can see a lot of information on several items: 1. Number of owners (if you see several owners in the past few years run). 2. Avoid states where the car has been owned in the past: New York, Illinois and New Jersey are states that allow cars that have been totaled to get new titles. 3. Review the work that has been done to the car on the report. You can often see a former owner that had routine maintenance done on time I.E. oil changes, etc. 4. Yes, bring your car to your mechanic to verify that it is in good condition. 5. Be aware that people will try to use Kelly Blue Book values to their advantage. They will often say it's worth price X, and have it rated as a higher condition than it really is. 6. Finally, don't be afraid to ask someone for help. I have helped several people buy cars and have got lower prices than what is advertised every time. The car dealers "one price" with no haggling is strictly to make people believe that they can't get a better price. It is simply not true. read more

HOW DARE YOU BOB'S AUTO RANCH?! Never buy your next car from here. I bought my car on DECEMBER 30th, 2020. It broke down on the side of the road with white smoke coming out of it on FEBRUARY 6th, 2021. I had it towed to an auto shop and then called the auto ranch who said to tow it to the auto ranch that Bob owns, good neighbor auto. Apparently the coolant and oil has mixed together, exploded all over the engine and made the car create white smoke and not accelerate. They fixed it and it lasted another month until it broke down on the side of the road and had the same issue on MARCH 6th, 2021. We brought it back to good neighbor and demanded it be fixed for free since obviously they didn't do their job well enough and fix it last time. That lasted until APRIL 7th, 2021 when the car had the same issue all over again. This time I was done. Tried to sell it back to Bob's Auto Ranch for less money than I paid for it, they said "no way, you're saying that I sold you a broken car". Which by reading this review you can tell that they did! So to sum up, it's a scam artist of a business and a scam artist of a neighboring auto shop (good neighbor auto). I've had more car problems with the car I bought for them within the last 4 months than I've had in my whole lifetime. I had never been stuck on the side of the road before and now I have 3 times in 3 different months. So it's your wallet's funeral if you decide to buy a car from them. Alright, here's the deal: this is not a dealership. So they don't have a service department and can legally sell vehicles with salvage titles. That was not my experience, but it informs the other reviews. I went with a friend here so she could upgrade from her her sad sack to a super cute Mini Cooper with a manual transmission. Here's the deal: she learned how to drive a manual the night before... In a Jeep. The shift on the Jeep is VERY different than on a Mini, but the staff was extremely helpful in learning the intricacies with this car. The purchasing and negotiating process was extremely easy, and she wound up paying exactly what she wanted for the vehicle. They were even understanding about her trade-in title being mailed in from out of state. Four stars instead of five? This is where the "this is not a dealership" comes into play for me: no warranties or service departments. This just isn't their specialty, so all servicing is third party (also informs the other reviews). But if you see the car you want here: check it out! read more

Drove an hour to look at a car and when I got there found out it was covered in hail damage. Ad and pictures gave me no indication that this was the case. When I asked them about it they said the damage happened on their lot and they had not updated the ad. I looked at the car in March! They hail damage had to be from last summer. I guarantee I am not the first person to show up and be surprised. No excuse for the ad not indicating hail damage. I would not trust these guys. read more

This place is an absolute joke of a "used" car dealership. As I pulled in right away there was a salesperson right in front of us, no meet and greet he just simply walked away to make a phone call. We roamed around for a few minutes looked at some trucks finally we found one. I looked around now no one is even in the vacinity of the dealership so I finally walked into their office (crappy cabin) to ask for a salesperson a women was in there I asked and she looked around as if I was an idiot. Long story short I'm not sure how these little mom and pop dealerships survive probably of predatory practices against people with poor credit history etc... do yourself a favor and steer clear of this jungle. read more

Bought a Toyota Camry here at a decent price. Within 1 hour of driving it, no joke, the engine started smoking. I had to call the fire department and police just to save the vehicle. When we got there we rest drove the vehicle, only to find a very soft low brake pedal, a check engine light, and a radio that did not function. We still liked the car, and we would have been willing to buy if they fixed everything, or if they dropped the price a considerable amount. The most that 'they could do' was a $200 discount, on a car that needed thousands in repairs. The car in good working condition is worth $5995.
