Fish n chips Chicken burger with fries and gravy

Decided to try this place as it's nearby and first impression was concerning as it was not busy but they were also renovating the patio. The afternoon server was funny and very friendly. The younger server we had later was ok but not very attentive and not as personable. We took the first servers advice and decided to try the chicken burger and fish n chips. The food was fresh and delish plus reasonably priced. We will definitely go back to check out the new patio and some other menu items.

We've been to Bob's a number of times. It has ALWAYS been a positive experience. Food is very good. Staff is really friendly, quick and attentive. I love the comfortable, casual atmosphere with high end menu choices. If there's something you'd like but don't see it on the menu all you have to do is ask and they will do their best to make it for you.

Inside at back looking forward. Lots of light!

This is the second time I have eaten and drank at this restaurant. Totally worth the time. Pabst Blue Ribbon on tap ice cold, Bushmills on the shelf and a NY Cowboy Steak. Perfectly done with mashed potatoes shrimp skewer and mixed peppers with purple cabbage. Totally loved the meal and friendly staff too! Cheers

Cool location - and atmosphere was good,, Felt like more of a pub at dinning room prices, It really felt like the attempt to create a dinning room environment and it hasn't succeeded, Otherwise the food - I had the top burger and it had great taste ! the fries were homemade and hot - highly recommended, my GF had Pasta Alfredo - it looked ok - but for the price very little meat - throw a full breast on there - it's all about the food. She liked it but agreed about the "lack of", and extemely garlicy if you enjoy that. Wait staff were good and very friendly.. A few more spots in the neighbourhood to try before heading back for me...

Knowing it would be a busy day, I made a reservation in advance, which I'm glad I did. This restaurant had fairly good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. When we arrived, I was a little surprised. The restaurant was much more casual than I expected, and the ambiance felt a bit dated. We ordered the half dozen fresh oysters, spinach salad, seafood linguine, and the Creole chicken. Unfortunately, the oysters were disappointing. They weren't as plump or flavorful as the fresh oysters I've had in Vancouver, and they were served with tobiko, which I've never seen paired with oysters before. It wasn't a combination I enjoyed. The spinach salad was good, although I thought it was a bit overdressed. The seafood linguine was also enjoyable, with a generous amount of seafood, though I wasn't expecting it to be made with pesto sauce. It was still a tasty dish. The Creole chicken was just okay--the chicken breast was a bit dry, but the sauce helped make up for it. Overall, I felt the prices were a bit high for the quality of the food and the casual atmosphere. It may be a good option by White Rock standards, but if this restaurant were in Vancouver, I don't think it would stand out. That said, the service was excellent. Our server was genuinely friendly, attentive, and provided the best part of our dining experience.

I cannot say enough about how fun it was to DHOC at this party. We will definitely have them back again this summer. If you are hosting a party, add oysters to menu! I am not going to talk about the delicious food here, because that part is already well understood…read more Instead, I want to highlight a few things that, as diners, we often take for granted and sometimes overlook. Consistency I have been coming here randomly about six times since they opened, and that consistency is impressive. Portions are steady, service feels genuine, and every dish arriving at the table shows care. Nothing pretentious, just honest food that makes you smile and feel comfortable. Creativity, done right There is a clear respect for classic dishes, and that is not easy to pull off. The kitchen hits the right notes without overcomplicating things. The cioppino stood out in particular, a humble yet elegant seafood broth I have only ever tried in San Francisco, the birthplace of the dish. The resemblance was remarkable, and the quality of the ingredients was outstanding. I felt the same attention in the chowder and even in the cocktails, where every spice and component seems thoughtfully chosen to deliver a specific experience. Care and attention to detail This one is easy to notice. The owner is present, engaged, and clearly invested. You can tell when someone genuinely cares and takes pride in what they are doing, without big fuss or trying to be something they are not. That care carries through the room, the bar, and the overall atmosphere. Comfortable, polished, and welcoming. Point of improvement One small area where the experience could be elevated even further is service etiquette. Simple refinements, such as how drinks are poured or placed on the table, could enhance the customer experience and better match the level of care coming from the kitchen. These are small, easy-to-train details, but they make a noticeable difference. Overall, this is a hidden gem in Abbotsford that deserves to be discovered. A place that earns your trust quietly and keeps you coming back for all the right reasons.

Staff are friendly but understaffed. Once the place filled up they were swamped. Signature steamed seafood pot - definitely on the pricey side, but they don't skimp out. Special mention for the presentation. Plenty of goodies including an entire lobster, half a large octopus (tenticle/arm half), snails, oysters, scallops, prawns, and fish balls among others. Basically everything without fish. Served in a large tray (the ones seen at banquet buffets), and everything cooked in broth. This was enough to probably feed 4-5 adults (assuming average appetites). So pretty. Deep fried squid with fries - honestly this dish was meh. Basically exactly what it sounds like. Squid is tempura style. Nothing special. I'd skip this one. Bossam (pork belly wraps) - served with tofu and spicy kimchi and some vegetable (kelp?) as well. They don't really give enough wraps compared to the pork slices. Decent portion size. My friends and I gobbled this up. This place also serves makgeolli (Korean rice wine) for a very reasonable price. Goes well with the food. Overall my friends and I left happy. Wouldn't mind coming back at some point to try some other dishes. Recommended.

I was captivated by the sights of the river from the inside of the restaurant, and thought it looked great during the winter. The interior of the bar & grill looked modern but also high-toned in design. I ordered the Cajun Pasta with the Pineapple Ginger Punch virgin cocktail for dinner. When I ordered the drink, the bartender told me that they had no pineapple juice, but used orange juice instead, which I thought made a better substitute. The ginger punch had a strong ginger-taste to it while still maintaining a solid good flavour. The pasta dish was exquisite. The rose sauce had a good zesty flavour that was not at any point overly spicy. The chicken and sun-dried tomatoes were great in it and went exceptionally good with the sauce. I also enjoyed the focaccia bread that came with the entrée. The bartender and servers were very serviceable and did not find myself waiting too long for anything. I had a great first experience at the Kingfisher Bar & Grill and would recommend this restaurant for any meal of the day.

To be fair I had checked that area out as I know it's been revitalized in the last half decade, and the ratings were pretty good. It's a cool space with an upstairs that was not open, with a somewhat industrial look which is right up my alley. Give me open wood beams, conduit, bricks and an industrial floor and I'll move in. The service was top notch, Mackenzie was there when we wanted her, and understood we would be there a while catching up. For a younger server, she showed experience beyond her years, and was excellent. We should have tipped her more, and I hate the preset tip percentages. Typically don't use them, but I had a brain fart today. Three of our diners loved their meals. The lovely K loved the fish sandwich, our friends their B&S classic sandwich and most especially the Prawn Cobb salad. Unfortunately my Honey Thyme fried chicken sandwich was not good. Overcooked and black with a paltry amount of fries, not a good $23.00 meal. Would we go again, yes I would because I think someone just f'd my food up.
