My sister-in-law's baby shower was held at Station House Pub. The shower was situated in their outdoor patio area, secluded from other customers in the pub. We also had our own dedicated server, our own bathrooms, and we stayed within our own tables... so it felt perfectly safe (and thank goodness it turned out to be a beautiful day, too)! Because it was a baby shower, the food was prepared for us so we didn't order anything on our own (besides drinks). For food, we enjoyed an appetizer platter, which included: Chicken Wings, Peppered Rib Bites, Extreme Poppers, and Baked Crab and Spinach Dip. My friend loves this place so we went on Saturday for dinner. We ordered blackened chicken burger, Philly cheesesteak, hot chicken salad. The entrees were very good and tasty but the crispy fries and generic gravy left alot to be desired. Next time I would try some of they appy's instead. My friends and I came to this bar around 10:15pm Wednesday night and it was about 9 of us. We are all American and when the waitress (blonde) asked us for two forms of IDs we complied. She did not believe our IDs (some of us are from different states but go to college together) and most of us had our U.S. passports so she tested us on the exact address on each of our cards. Our one friend who had his passport as well got one word wrong and she refused to serve him. It would be understandable if he only had his ID, however he also had his passport which is difficult to forge. The waitress was not understanding and from the get go seemed to make the decision to not believe us. We are all over 21 years old as well, with one of our friends being 24 so this was appalling. Do not recommend coming here (especially Americans). There are better pubs out there in Abbotsford. read more

Despite some pretty bad reviews I kinda liked this place. My expectations were low when I was told we would be eating dinner at a pub in Aldergrove, but I was pleasantly surprised. The portions are massive so you may want to share! They have a nice selection of beers and wines and everything in-between There was enough GF items on the menu to keep me happy. I do agree with others about the service. We had to wait a very long time before we even got menus. There seemed to be only one server in our area and it was very busy. The server we did get was pretty grouchy and seemed impatient. To me service is key, so that is why it loses 2 stars. read more

Great food, fun atmosphere and even better service. My husband and I have been coming here for years due to fact the food is always consistent and the servers are super personable but also take their job seriously. They don't over serve alcohol, nor do they serve minors. Ignore the fake negative spam reviews. I read one regarding an American citizen being upset with the professional server for doing her job. It sounds like his group was with a minor who wasn't served and had his buddies all come to the page to leave the same false review. Gotta love the internet warriors. As a server of liqour, they need to be absolutely sure they aren't serving kids with fake identification. They can lose their jobs and have the business closed. Made a big order for dinner tonight, family of five. Very disappointed!! Way to expensive for what we got. Beef Dip, One came with 10 fries, one gravy didn't even show (yet was paid for), Au Juis?? guess I didn't want any of that, it would have been nice as it was so dry, we could have soaked the bread. I've enjoyed food and drinks here several times. I've never had a bad experience. The servers are attentive, friendly and helpful. They have a nice outdoor patio for summer and I'm really happy they've stayed open through COVID! I'm sorry but I only give bad reviews when its super true. This place is really large, lots of seating, nice servers but their food is horrible. I found out the reason why....they can't keep cooks even if they try. They go through cooks so fast they call they get called the Chef Du Jour. The beef dip eau jus tasted like a mixture of soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce. So salty and gross. I'm not sure who they have cooking, but they dont know what they are doing back there. The drinks are priced well but thats about it. If i want to go somewhere to watch the game and NOT eat, then i might consider going here again. Update: This is now a sports pub without the balance of a restaurant. We went in last night and chose the eating side versus the pub area. Great place to come watch a hockey game - the game was on every one of the many tv screens and commentary blasting over the speakers. Had we known we might have chosen elsewhere. So I would never recommend this place ever because the service was horrible. As soon as my friends and I had gotten there, the vibe was off because everyone had a staring issue. We didn't pay it no mind until the blond waitress kept commenting that our identifications which were passports and licenses were weird. Next thing you know, she was like okay one at a time tell me your addresses. We were confused at first but we obliged. While she kept quizzing us for what our addresses were, the area we had sat down was dirty and had ants crawling around the floor. I told her about it and she responded with "and?" Worst service ever, don't come here!!! A group of friends and I came on a Wednesday night on 3/15/23 and our waitress was beyond rude and disrespectful to us. We didn't catch her name, but she was blonde. She asked for two forms of ID, and in a way to antagonize us, she asked for each of us to state our addresses. My friend was saying his address, and he accidentally said "avenue" instead of "street", even though he got the ENTIRE address right; he just messed up one word. She automatically didn't take his answer, and told him he was wrong. She then proceeded to throw his ID's on the table aggressively, and told him that she wouldn't serve him. Even though he is 22, even though he got the address right except one word!! What's frustrating is that she wasn't willing to work with him and ask for another form of ID. Any decent person would be understanding of messing up one word, and would seek other solutions to validate his ID. Moreover, he showed his passport, which needs to be valid as border patrol checks it when you enter the country... From the moment we walked in, she antagonized us and only served us attitude. Well, another bad service experience. This place CANNOT do it right. It's a shame it's so close to my house. Everytime I leave here, I wonder why I ever go back. I don't blame our primary server tonight, she stated she's new and, fair enough I guess, stated she wasn't familiar with beer. (However you work in a pub with 25 beers on tap, you should probably start learning at least the difference between a stout and a lager) but I digress. So she brings a beer list, it has Granville Winter Ale on it, I ask, oh do you have this one (its seasonal, so not around all-year so I thought I'd ask) She says yes, so I order one. She brings a very light colored lager-like beer to the table. (Granville Winter Ale is really dark amber/brown color) I ask her which kind it is, she states "Granville Winter Ale", I tell her its probably not, and while it may be a Granville product, its certainly not Winter Ale. She says she'll go check. She goes to the bar, looks at the tap, and comes back saying "Yup Its the right one" I again tell her its not, but its fine, I'll order something else. Anyway she goes to talk to another server (this other server has been around a couple years at this place as I've seen her many times, and has a habit of being abrupt and rude, so I already figure this isn't going to go well.) After speaking to the new girl, the other server looks over at me and says "That IS Winter Ale" I then tell her "no I'm sorry its just not." And she proceeds to inform me she's "not going to argue with me", that's what the tap is. And walks away. So now the poor new girl is stuck in this mess, comes over, apologizes, I order another kind of beer, She brings it over and apologizes again. I explained this isn't on her, she asked someone more experienced (who was completely rude). The new girl said "yeah, and she made me feel like a complete idiot". She told me she went to look in the cooler,and sure enough, the keg plugged into the tap was NOT the right one (It was Granville Honey Lager, for what its worth) In six years I've lived here, I have rarely gotten decent service at this place from anyone besides Nikki. The Station House is a homey, comfortable pub with top-notch service, a decent selection of beers, and outstanding food. I've been scouring the Abbotsford area for a "home pub" for years with underwhelming results but after spending some time here, I've finally found one. The icing on the cake is that there's tons of parking, seating space, and that they show all of the Canucks games and UFC events. This spot's well worth the drive. read more

Sorry for the novel of a review and if there was an option to give less then one star I would give it no stars cause damn this place is shit. A few months ago I decided to go there for my birthday. I got my boyfriend to call to make reservations for Saturday night, and there would be about twenty-five people coming. The gentleman who answered the phone told my boyfriend that they didn't usually make reservations on Saturday nights, plus there was a ufc match playing that night, however, because there was so many of us, he would make an exeption. Now if he had said no I would have understood, having worked in a restaurant before it makes sence to not hold a table. I want to make it clear that this guy said he would make an exception and we would have a table ready for twenty-five people at eight. My boyfriend and I got there at about 7:45. It took us about five minutes to get the attention of the bar tender who was busy with literally one customer and after asking about the table, she gave us the same "we don't do reservations on Saturdays" thing and after telling her about what the guy said she looked completely confused and told us she would get the manager. We then, for the second time, explained to the manager what had happened she told us that there was no chance of us getting a table and no reservation was made. I can understand mistakes being made and if the guy told no one about us coming in the fine but the only solution this lady gave us was a table for four and to "wait untill something else opens up". She suggested a table of four, for twenty-five people. And then so walked away. No coupons, no gift card for the inconvenience, not even an apology for almost ruining the night. I say almost because we managed to get the entire restaurant section at Fox and the Hound, a much better bar a few blocks away. So basically I was in the place for less then fifteen minutes, didn't eat or drink a thing, and already I'd never go back to it again. read more

This is a very comfortable place. Since I am disabled with a chronic pain condition, that is a HUGE consideration for me. In the back room, there is a gas fireplace, overhung with a GIGANTIC bison head. A pool playing guy hanging with his friend after their baseball game was kind enough to point this out to me. I had not seen it, and now, as a former San Francisco, can only sit there wondering if the Big One is gonna hit while I am there. The good part would be that the bison head is so huge, I would likely be killed instantly! hope is it hung up there properly! Joking aside, the service is very good, but the food is mediocre. The drinks are not the greatest either-smaller and less tasty than I would expect for a bar of this size and clientele. I will keep rotating through the drink menu for a little while longer until I find something I enjoy. Mojitos? Can anyone in Canada make a decent MOJITO?? I was able to manage a couple of tequila sunrises after having the bartender adjust the sweetness level. The coffee drink I ordered cost $8.00 and was weak, watery, just plain crappy. I really felt ripped off by that. This is a huge bar, with an outstanding gigantic selection of liqueurs, and I just don't understand how they could mess up a drink that is featured on the menu like that. I think I ordered the one with bailey's and frangelico. That is a simple drink to make, and I am suspecting the liqueurs may have been substitutes. I used to be a bartender many long years ago, and I have to say I have been incredibly disappointed in the wares of the Canadian bars I have visited so far. I think the drinks are very expensively priced and poorly made, overall. I probably got spoiled living in San Francisco-it was never hard to find a good place to drink. Sigh. Living in the country has its positives, but getting my drank on has been a toughie. The canned music is not the greatest, but I am older than the typical college-to-30+ age group that seems typical. Some folk my age do go there, and I am sure that game nights are frequented by a diverse crowd, during which the music is not on. I am not a sports fan, sadly, so I will have to try to hit the place when the games are over. Anyway the people who frequent this place are kind and friendly and given to chitchatting during the game. As a recent import from the US, I am finding it difficult to figure out the correct 'tone' to talk to Canadians. Many of them are just plain grumpy, so it is lovely to know I can go to the Station House to do my paperwork in peace and quiet (relative) and watch the local wildlife in their natural environment. It has been fun and I will be back. The one server who has been there on the two occasions I wandered in (Nicole?) is kind, funny, smart, and really helpful. We had our Christmas party here on a Saturday . We booked it 2 months in advance. Showed up and they had no idea that be were coming in . They finally found a stop for us after 30 minutes of waiting. . The service was non-existent , we waited for more then 45 minutes for our meals to get cooked. While we were waiting for the meals the server came by only once to ask about drinks. When 2 of the people in our group mentioned about the fries being cold . The server became defensive and rude .
