The Prime rib dips' meat was sliced so thin I don't believe it was prime rib. It was also overcooked and dry. The Au jus could've been a lot more flavorful. The fries were perfection though, the meals saving grace so to speak. Good portion. The chicken fried steak was good although more of a small breakfast size than dinner portion, the sausage gravy lacked sausage and didn't seem to be made from scratch, the corn was mushy and probably just fresh from the freezer. The server was wonderful, booth was clean. We were there to watch the game and celebrate an anniversary so the food probably felt a bit more disappointing than it was. Oh, and we got the calamari appetizer and it was good overcooked and rubbery and not good although the sauce that it came with was good. Stopped in after exploring the back roads on my motorcycle. Happened upon the border crossing purely by accident by the way. I was the only customer in there at 1:30 pm. It was cool and dark inside. Decor of a north woods lodge complete with stuffed fish and animal trophies mounted on the wall. I appreciated the cool temperature. I had the server all to myself and she took good care of me. Attentive and filled my soda glass often. The food was normal Bob's. Not bad but not spectacular. The five stars are mostly for my server Rochelle. Very nice person. read more

Tried their Sunday brunch buffet for the first time. Did not disappoint! All you can eat fresh omelette, eggs Benedict, waffles and so much more for only $14! The service was great as usual. read more

This joint had exactly what we needed after a long day of fighting our way through the idiotic traffic of I-5 near Seattle: Freaking good bacon cheeseburgers and hot fries. We parked our rig at the little truck stop and grocery close by and called in an order that was fulfilled within 15 minutes. Bob's is located in a hotel in Sumas near the Canadian border. If you're stuck here for the night, sit your butt down at the bar, have a few local brews and a burger and enjoy the spectacular Pacific Northwest. read more

This meal I bought today was the by far the WORST they have ever made...why do I keep torturing myself by eating there...Dark Brown French Fries that smell like Grease obviously overcooked in dirty Oil... burnt Hamburger Bun and the hard inside middle Pieces of Lettuce the size of a King Bed Sheet...which is the ONLY thing BIG on the Burger ! Overall taste of the Mushroom Burger NASTY... Onion Rings Brown Hard and Overcooked.... IF you want good food at an reasonable price eat at McDonald's instead ! Don't forget to check your Bar Drinks for Fruit Fly Floaters ... they don't care how bad the food is they won't care about the Alcohol either ! Big portions is the only thing this restaurant has going for it...even then, they are overpriced by about $3 per plate. Atmosphere: Back in the 1920's and 30's the theme and adjacent lodge would've been great for its day but, today is just sub par. Places like Woods Coffee now have the same theme but a modern flare to it. Take a page from their book Bob's! Wait staff: the staff that waited on us were attentiveness, flawless about our order, and nice. All I saw were women on staff made up of 20 year olds and 30 year olds. I did see one man stuck in the kitchen, probably the dish washer. I guess the sociably accepted prejudices prevail with the owner/ manager of this place when it comes to hiring for wait staff. Food: large portions of unseasoned over cooked edibles. That's the best I can describe it. As you can see from the pictures my BLT was big enough to share with my daughter or wife but dry. Please put more mayo on it! Also my onions were over fried till burnt. Maybe the cook should take a class on how to deep fry food properly! Cleanliness: unlike other reviews I've read about this place I found it to be pleasant. I couldn't find much of any dirt or dust. Good job! read more

Stopped here while meeting someone at the border. Everything is a ghost town with covid shutdowns. Great service! Great burgers, onions rings and fries. All packed to go. Better than any burger in King county other than shake shack. Highly recommend if you're passing through. read more

We are stuck in town waiting for our COVID results so we can travel through Canada to Alaska. We walked down here and Amanda, our waitress, seated us right away and took our drink orders immediately. She came back with my strawberry lemonade and it was excellent. It did not sit empty for long and she was back on a refill. Everything on the menu looked so good. I decided on chipotle chicken burger with the shepherd's pie soup. Rodney got the BBQ bacon burger, Vicki ordered a chicken salad, and Jacob a bacon ranch chicken wrap. We started with a plate of onion rings and they were out soon. They were excellently made and the chipotle ranch was spectacularly flavored. When our meals came there was not a negative review around the table. Amanda kept refilling our drinks and checking in on us. I don't know how anyone could live with themselves eating at a chain joint while in this town instead of Bob's! Take all of those old negative reviews with a grain of salt. just right across the British Columbia Canada border is this place. Very cute outside. Log cabin like restaurant. Inside was alittle dingy for my liking. I don't know if it's suppose to be like that or just dirty. Ordered a salad and it mediocre. Met my two cousins I haven't seen in years here since they're from Washington and I Vancouver. We really enjoyed our 2 day stay. We had room 7 and had friends in 2 other rooms. All the rooms had plenty of B+B rustic type charm. The rooms were super clean and we made a point of thanking our cleaning ladies. All the furniture in the rooms appeared to be antiques. The outer walls were actual logs. Our rocking chair was super comfy and squeaked a lot just like the bed. We had a nice little balcony which would have been nicer if our room faced the south. The furnace/ac units were a bit older but they kept the room at a nice comfortable constant temperature. Old historic photographs line the walls of the halls outside the rooms. The top floor had a very nice viewing room to check out the border and the mountains. Mt. Baker could be seen to the East. The resteraunt downstairs was very nice and rustic. The food was ok but not spectacular. There was a nice and roomy bar adjacent to the resteraunt. The Canadian border is about 2 blocks to the North. Not sure what the deal is but most of the shops,stores and resteraunts along the main drag have closed down. This is strange because there is a lot of traffic going back and forth across the border. This would be a great place to set up a business. I highly recommend the Mountain lodge as a place to stay if you are in Sumas. read more

Stopped off for some brew and food after a rather long bike ride. Beer was cold and served promptly. Menu is extensive, and reasonably priced. I wanted wings, which weren't listed, but were available. Let's talk about the wings that showed up, shall we? Slathered in hot sauce, big, juicy, meaty, heavy. Not breaded. Just good, proper wings. Well priced wings I may add. We also ordered some fries, and they were salty, crispy, delicious! Service was good, prompt, and friendly. I came on before my border cross. I didn't expect a buffet, but I'm definitely always glad for a breakfast buffet. They had a made to order station for your omelet and egg needs (I'd prefer to scoop my own eggs though) which is nice. They had sausages and ham for selection of meats, 2 types of potatoes, and biscuits. There was a hot plate of 2 types of french toast and some waffles. There was an extensive dessert section and fresh fruit. I'd say it was much more than I had expected! I had to take away a star because of the service - it wasn't bad because there were about 50 people but only one waitress (she also had to seat people). I'd hope that they hire someone else...I could only get 1 cup of coffee. Otherwise, if you're crossing into/out of Canada through here, I definitely recommend stopping by here for a wonderful breakfast buffet! read more

The food is terrific. Excellent quality and value for the money. The service... well that depends on the waitress you get. I'm a regular here and there's a handful of waitresses that are excellent (Koby, Carla, the blond in the bar) but the also often hire a lot of younger waitresses that don't seem to take their job or the importance of their customers seriously. "When you're starving so anything tastes good", is exactly how I would describe my dining experience. I was pretty disappointed in how dated and grubby this place felt. Atmosphere directly effects the food experience. They have a few different sections for seating, and we were basically seated in this depressing 90s banquet alleyway off to the side, surrounded by dusty fake plants. If they invested in cleanup and completely updated the interior to a modern shabby-chic lodge ambiance, this location could be something very special. read more

Stopped by for an early breakfast. Seems like a favorite place for the locals. Food was good and well cooked. Server was very pleasant. Little dark inside for me, but I guess that is part of the charm and character of this restaurant. Only thing that needs improvement was the washroom wasn't clean. read more

Bob's Burgers! Weee! I thought for my very first Yelp review that I just had to start with Bob's Burgers. Seeing as how I live in Sumas, but am constantly away in various cities for work, Bob's is that place that just feels like home. I've been going there with girlfriends for years and years and I've never been disappointed. Well, except years ago when they had this one B of a waitress that ended up getting fired! Lol But yes, that was at least 5 years ago. The wood building makes the restaurant feel really cozy and it's always nice and warm inside. Their burgers are amazing, so when I splurge on a burger (I'm trying to eat less fattening foods and stay in great shape), it's gonna be a burger from Bob's. The Bleu Cheese Burger and the Aloha Burger (cheese, beef and grilled pineapple!) are my go-to items for sure, not to mention the cocktails! You with me, ladies?? Lol Like I said, those times when I get to be back home in Sumas after all the business meetings, hotels and airports, it is so nice to stop into Bob's for some long time familiarity! read more

We arrived at the restaurant at around 7:45pm and asked if we could sit on the patio as we had dogs in the car. We first asked if dogs were allowed on the patio, they asked the bartender (who was right there at the front desk) and she said no, which is totally fine. The dogs are fine in the car. We were directed the patio and told the bartender would take care of us. We walked out to the patio, right past the bartender who looked right at us. We sat out there for about 5 minutes, went inside to use the bathroom (which was pretty dingy), and that's when I noticed the paper sign taped to the door going out to the patio. Please let bartender know you are out here. Okay, fine. Went inside to tell her we were outside and she tells us, we aren't serving outside anymore because it's night time now. She offered to clean us a table to sit inside and I just looked at her said nah, we will leave. It really would have been nice for some one to mention that you aren't serving on the patio after such and such time. It wasn't even 8pm yet. We drove back to bham and got jack in the box and took it home. After reading the other reviews of the food, it sounds like we were better off. read more

This was a welcome relief after an awful time waiting to cross the border. The place is clean and well maintained. Our server was fast, efficient, and pleasant. We got a turkey burger and a regular (beefy) burger. Both were generously sized and tasted great. We got small salads instead of fries- the salads were surprisingly good for this type of place. I live near this bobs and was hoping over time it would get better. But no still horrible service. My family and I plus two other families and the waitress barely checked on us and our food took forever to get. But that isn't the only time it's every time we go. I love bobs so I try to look past it but then I had the final straw. I order their Thai chicken every time I go from all bobs and all of a sudden they are now only giving you a quarter of what they normally do and still charging the same price. No other bobs is doing this you still get lots of chicken. I got 8 tiny pieces. Plus they didn't even tell me I ordered it to go and got home to find this out. It's such a bummer to be so close to a bobs then we won't be supporting anymore. read more

I really like this Bob's, it has the best food out of all them. We live close by and this is one of our favorite places to go. It's very cozy country with many mounts (turkey, moose and deer) on the wall and a big fireplace. The staff is always friendly but overworked. This probably isn't the place to go if you are in a big hurry but if you're looking for a relaxing "home on the range" dinner you got it here. The Sunday buffets are really exceptional and it's also a hotel on the upper floor. We love it! read more
