    BLT and Tater tots

Don't let the restaurant name fool you. This is just an average diner with run-of-the-mill, American menu items like burgers & shakes for lunch or eggs, bacon and pancakes for breakfast. My BLT was prepared and served with care, and honestly reminded me of something my mom would make at home. However, with a name like Dutch Treat, I was really hoping for something unique on the menu that you might find in the Netherlands. Unfortunately that was not the case. The only "treat" was not having to cook and clean up after myself. This is a place where the locals gather to chat over a cup of coffee. If you want to hear the local gossip and get a decent, square meal, this average-joe diner will do the trick.

Deluxe Cheeseburger with Home French Fries. It was really good.

It definitely has the small town feel with the local elders drinking their morning coffee.

A local favorite, a little bit off the beaten path, but worse looking for it. Very friendly and timely service, really good food, and a great menu that everybody will find something on that they like. If you're vegan, that last comment may be inaccurate ;-). You gotta try the milkshakes, this reminds me of what I was used to growing up at some of the great family restaurants in the 1970s. Outstanding! The interior of the restaurant is decorated with an eclectic Western theme and your eyes will never get tired of looking for all the details. Our granddaughter loved it! And so did the grandparents and my dad. We'll be back.

The horse radish was pretty generic and didn't have any "punch" to it. The Caesar salad lettuce was a bit wilted and too much dressing. The loaded baked potato was okay. My son enjoyed his clam chowder. The pot pie was rather small for $20! It was not enjoyed. Unfortunately, a frozen Marie Calendars is better. Two people ordered this and didn't eat them all. Salad bar is pretty underwhelming. The star here is the peanut butter chocolate shake! Yum! Service was attentive and friendly. Parking: Quite a few spots that go all the way around the building, but was a bit full on a Friday night.

After being seated, our waitress greeted us briefly and then disappeared. It took about 20 minutes to place our order because she never came back to the table. She didn't appear busy or overwhelmed--most of the time, she seemed to be in the kitchen. When she eventually returned, she brought our drinks and, later, our plates, but the plates were dirty and still had food on them. She set them down and walked away without noticing or addressing them. Once our food arrived, it was actually good, which was the one positive part of the experience. However, she never checked on us--not once--to see if we needed anything. At the end of the meal, she brought the card machine so we could pay and then walked away again without returning. We also asked for a to-go box, which never came. We eventually had to go to the bar and ask another staff member for one ourselves before leaving. Overall, the food was fine, but the service was consistently inattentive and frustrating from start to finish. Given that the restaurant wasn't busy, this was disappointing, and I hope they improve their level of service.

The bartender was cheerful and busy, but attentive to our requests. I have been here a handful of times before. My favorite is the French Dip, but there are many things that I have not tried. We shared the tuna sushi appetizer, which enjoyed a great deal. The crispy fried onions gave it a kick of texture and flavor. My wife had the teriyaki chicken bowl, which tasted good, but she wished she had another order of the sushi. I had the miso king salmon *really* hit the spot for me, and it was not overcooked a bit. The miso taste was quite mild. The Brussels sprouts were tasty, and the rice good. The amazing sauce brought it all together. I ate the entire plate, which surprised my wife. Service was very good. Although it was at capacity, and the games were on the TVs at the bar (with volume way down or off), it was not too noisy, so my wife and I could talk easily without shouting. I appreciate the restrooms here. Full closing doors for each commode!
