Quaint little mom and pop place. A local favorite with kind service. Limited seating but they have a great burger special to-go. We got an old fashioned malt milkshake and it is enough for two people. I also split a turkey club and went away feeling very full. Finally made it here after wanting to for years! read more

Like stepping back in time... Mix of Twin Peaks and Alice, two great TV shows that had awesome diners in them. The menu is solid diner faire. The shocking and most pleasant surprise was the deluxe burger for $5.49 on the menu. It came with French fries for $2 extra and was a lot of food!! I got the 2 eggs, 2 sausage, and hashbrowns with a slice of gluten-free bread! For under $10... The coffee was delicious and came in cool mugs from all over. Admittedly, I've come from San Francisco, where a typical brunch would be a minimum of $50. Our bill came to $22.27!! There was only one server, and the place was relatively small, but at 10 am on a Tuesday, it was hoppin. This place is all at once nostalgic and comforting. The other customers were obviously regulars, the seating was ample, and they take cc and cash. I Highly recommend! read more

I alway like coming here for breakfast. It always taste great and the staff is friendly. It definitely has the small town feel with the local elders drinking their morning coffee. I would give it 5 stars but I don't like trying to figure out in the morning if there is going to be a table available. Don't let the restaurant name fool you. This is just an average diner with run-of-the-mill, American menu items like burgers & shakes for lunch or eggs, bacon and pancakes for breakfast. My BLT was prepared and served with care, and honestly reminded me of something my mom would make at home. However, with a name like Dutch Treat, I was really hoping for something unique on the menu that you might find in the Netherlands. Unfortunately that was not the case. The only "treat" was not having to cook and clean up after myself. This is a place where the locals gather to chat over a cup of coffee. If you want to hear the local gossip and get a decent, square meal, this average-joe diner will do the trick. read more

If you really want to eat at a place with that home-cooked feeling, this is the place you'll want to visit. It looks tiny on the outside, but inside, it comes with a big menu, and big hearts, and enough seats to feed the hungriest. The menu offers a wide variety of breakfast options, as well as your garden variety of lunch fares. They aren't stingy on their portions, but you do need to ask for fries if you want them to accompany your hamburger. Oh, and save room for a hand-packed ice cream cone or any other dessert they offer that might suit your fancy. It really was a treat to dine here, and pretty budget friendly as well. read more

It doesn't have a menu that deviates from the classic American diner. You won't find some waffle and fried chicken with exotic spices all served in a mixing bowl. Instead you get that classic, quintessential small town diner feel with taste to back that feeling up. It's like your grandma (if she was anything like mine) opened a diner and somehow bequeathed it with all of her personality and love for cooking. We just had lunch delivered through Viking food and were incredibly impressed with our first experience with this restaurant. The bacon burger and BLT were delicious and my son cleared his plate of eggs, sausage, and hash browns. I felt the amount of food for the price was a great value also. We'll be back :) read more

Food is decent, the waitresses are horrible. You'll usually get a menu within a few minutes but it'll take ten minutes for them to return, and Don't expect them to refill your coffee cup without asking, they won't volunteer it. Not the place to go if you're in a hurry. read more

Probably a nice place. On Thursday June 7, 2018, about 6:45 am I entered Dutch Treat, found a table and sat down. The was a group of men at another discussing the weather. "Nice place," I thought, "certainly smells good." So I sat there and waited. And waited. I read my copy of The Lynden Tribune. Waited some more. After 15 minutes of this, I got up and left. Went over to the Fairway Cafe, where I was greeted, seated and drinking coffee within a minute. read more

If I could give this restaurant 0 stars I would. I was looking forward to trying this well known establishment only to walk in to place a to-go order, during a pandemic, and it was packed, like 30 people in a large living room packed. No tables were blocked to allow for social distancing, patrons were wandering around without masks and the worst was the wait staff not wearing masks. I am definitely not convinced that the groups eating were from the same household either. I mean come on, with that blatant of a middle finger to community health...definitely not. I turned around and walked out. My hunch (by the looks of judgement on peoples faces probably because I was the only person wearing a mask in this tiny packed establishment) they were saying good riddance. Even after this global health crisis passes my family will never return. Absolutely shameful they would put their "beloved" community at such risk. Today I had the chef salad. The salad was bagged, the veggies were about a week old (cucumber was squishy and it was a show piece on top of the salad) and i can not stop making trips to the restroom now. For $12 you could at least use fresh products. It literally made me ill. read more

Hello all. I have been here a few times and would give these folks a five star rating but then they may be likely to rest on their haunches and just enjoy the view from the top and get complacent. I want them to keep doing what they do; to maintain a friendly, local, family oriented atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable. I am way comfortable there, but haven't earned the right of passage of serving my own coffee when I walk in the door, yet. My time is coming. This place reminds me of Ovenell's Drive In. Any Stanwoodite would know what I mean. Old fashioned milkshakes (AND malts; my personal weakness!), healthy breakfasts and lunch burgers stuffed with all manners of the good stuff. A small cafe with great food, served your way I asked Mili for a burger with lettuce and tomato, no sauces. That is exactly what came to my table, and I couldn't be more pleased. The burger brought back memories of how good burgers used to be. Toasted bun, good meaty patty grilled just right, crisp lettuce and two nice tomato slices. I'll be back. My wife ordered a raspberry milk shake and she shared it with me because it was too large for her to consume by herself. A delicious shake, made with local ice cream, berries, and milk. Again, the way we remember how shakes should be. Thank you, Mili. The other nice feature about this cafe is the clientele. The gathering of local farmers over in the corner reminded of similar settings I experienced in the midwest, with the locals talking about how all the rain was keeping them from getting out and preparing their fields for planting. Local hangout for the older guys who mostly drink coffee and talk politics. Food is average but be ready to spend more than you think. You don't get a bill. You walk up to the counter and rely on memory of the server. In a recent experience, she added $2 for the quoted "free" one time drink refill. Been there before and the food's ok, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. My husband and I sat at our table for a good five minutes while the waitress talked with another customer, waited for others to make it to the register to pay, and looked directly at us without acknowledging our existence.
