It's always a great time at Bob's. Tubes are $20 for rent (cash only) and there a lot of tubing ahead of you. You get a ride from a truck or a bus down to the river and the rest is yours. It's what you make of it. read more

The lady who answered the phone is horribly rude. There was a miscommunication about the price and she told to just not come. I explained that I wasn't disputing what she was saying and she told me that since we had this conversation before I got there to just don't bother coming. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau. The transportation that they provide to get to the river is very rickety and dangerous and if you lean back in the pickup truck you can fall out. Overall this is the trashiest canoe and tube rental in Milton. read more

Park your car, pay your money, take a ride, grab a tube off of the trailer, and sit in the water for several hours. You end up back where you started and don't have to mess with anything other than your own ice chest. The bad part? For two tubes (one for you to sit in and another to float your ice chest), the cost is $25. Eighteen dollars for just the butt tube. Your cooler will be inspected for who knows what. Glass bottles are definitely prohibited and I have seen people get ticketed on the river by law enforcement for having bottles on the river. Seriously, don't take bottles. Bob's employees made us leave a beer funnel in the truck on one trip, saying that it was "illegal." Alrighty then, perfessor! I've heard that there are limits to how much beer per person you're allowed to carry, but I usually take an 18-pack and have never had a problem. The people here are nice enough. Due the ridiculously high cost, we usually coordinate enough vehicles to do tubing trips without the assistance of Bob's, but paying the outfit $25 is a perfectly good way to have a fun day of drinking copious quantities of beer, sitting in cool water, and peeing yourself without having to move. So we were waiting on some friends and decided to walk up to bobs to see if they had a vending machine before tubing. They just assumed we weren't renting and said they wouldn't help us with anything. So we decided to go buy some tubes and do our own thing. read more

Me and 4 other girls went to the river yesterday. & we passed the exit on accident so we go to the side and hold on to trees we walked up on land but there was no where to go . We call Bob's Canoes & ask for help he was being very rude . he said to walk back to the exit we tried to tell him the currents to strong & he said well you went on your own so your on you own. my 13 year old sister was crying to him for help and he hung up on her face . Maybe it's not there problem but he could of helped us . Trying to walk back like he said & he almost had a dead body in that river the current was taking us down . We got to the trees & started walking threw the woods having to make our own path. No shoes on thorns were sticking in our feet & then we found a path . I know this man knew about the path . I've been tubing with Bob's canoes since I was a kid and I still love using them for tubing trips! Very friendly small town local company. Definitely recommend them and tubing down the Blackwater. read more

Our large group has been going to Bob's for several years only because we did not know where else to go. We live in the Perdido Beach, FL and Mobile AL. The river is nice, clean, and has fewer obstacles in the water than some other creeks in the area except the bottom is pebbles in most places which hurts your feet after awhile. Once on the river we always have a great time with other great people out there. Their facilities are old looking. Their office reeks of cigarette smoke. We have recently found several other nicer facilities. Their prices are just a little high for kayaks but their are other facilities that charge a bit more and some charge less. It is $25 for a kayak and $18 for rafts. You will find mostly good comments on their facebook page. I am guessing bad reviews get deleted immediately. Most people we talk to on the river think they charge a little too much for their cooler rafts, and personal cooler floats brought by the customer cost the same as renting one of theirs. I have to agree. You are allowed to bring alcohol and other drinks as long as they are not in glass containers. They will take as much gear as you have (within reason) on the truck at no charge. Now on to the stafff. A few times we went the owner was decent and fairly friendly. Other times she was brusk and slightly rude. Our last trip was horrific. Upon checking in I told her I was paying for 2 people, a dog and cooler raft. There was an altercation regarding the raft as I had forgotten we had paid for it in the past. I was surprised when she charged me. This is when she started being slightly rude. She wrote down the names of the people in our party. I reminded her I had a dog. She then added up my total and I paid. My mind was on getting our group in and getting paid so I did not pay much attention to how much she charged me. After all it was her job to do the math, not mine. I went outside to our vehicle. A few people who had been inside the same time as us came over and said they couldn't believe how rude she was to me. A man called our group to get on the bus. The man doing the loading called her on the walkie talkie and asked if we had paid for the dog. She said I didn't tell her I had a dog. Another member of our group was with me and clearly heard me tell her we had a dog. Again, it was not my fault if they weren't paying attention. When I went in I said I told them twice I had a dog with us. She got extremely rude and that was when the argument broke out. She was yelling at me about the dog and the rafts that they thought I had never paid for. She asked me how much I paid, and didn't I notice I hadn't paid enough for the dog? I had paid what she asked me for and headed out the door. Nope, I sure didn't. Now she was actually screaming at me so loud she wouldn't even let me talk. At all. So now I paid for the dog and was heading out the door when she made another rude comment about the dog. I went back in and rudely responded to her comment. Now I was totally pissed at her attitude when all of this was her fault to begin with. If she didn't hear me say I had a dog she could have just admitted she didn't hear me. I would have paid and gone on my way. As I walked out the door I made an extremely rude comment about her. Yep, I let her get to me. She made me come back in, refunded every one their money and told us not to ever come back again. REALLY? At that point she still thought we might actually EVER return to that place!! We packed up and went to another rental facility in Holt which turned out to be a much nicer place with friendly people. The entire staff at Bob's have never been very friendly including most of the guys loading the kayaks and tubes. I don't care how nice the river might be we don't want the attitude from 2 female (insert bad word here) and an alcoholic. read more
