Went here twice and they messed up three times. The first time they broke the protective sleeve on my bottom bracket and I had to buy a new one on top of paying to get it removed. The second time I went they read my number back to me correctly but typed it in wrong then when I went to pick up my bike they didn't install the chainring I explicitly told them to put on. I can't speak for all the bobs cycle centers but be careful at this one. read more

We stopped in to get a seatpost and were greeted immediately. We asked for the seat post and the cashier went to get one for us. Another worker saw us looking at the bells and gave us 2 free ones! We purchased the seat post at a great price (and they offer veteran discounts which is always a nice perk). This is the spot to go for your bike needs. Brought in my dog stroller because the tires seemed flat and I lost the pump. Dropped it off and came back 4 hours later and was told they forgot to check it. No worries, stuff happens, right? We wait for 5 mins and they say they replaced the tubes and proceeded to say there was nothing wrong with the original ones, they just deflate and you need to fill them up. Why do you charge us $50 then for new tubes? Make it make sense. Won't be coming back here again. *For miscommunication to occur, there needs to be communication first. We were only told "they were good and we replaced them." read more

The main mechanic needs to get a different line of work. He gives the whole bike mechanics industry a bad name. The holier than thou attitude with a touch of disdain for anyone not as knowledgeable is the character this person plays. He demeans the employees and I have heard and witnessed this behavior on few occasions. Even if the employee is being nice to him, he's snappy and rude to them. His work was ok, there are better mechanics and can do a more professional job than this guy. read more

It took two different trips to Bob's Cycle on Fair Oaks to get my derailer adjusted correctly, a simple adjustment for an experienced technician...the first tech should have done it correctly the first time, but after 3 miles riding, the chain started "clicking" again, this time worse. So back to Bob's shop and some young fellow got it right and of course didn't charge me again. The second tech never offered an apology for the first tech's botched adjustment. E-Bikes are incredible in their technological advancement that comes with benefits but some unknown issues. Giant is known to have glitchy battery /motor issues 2-4 years after the purchase. For those of you in the EDH, Folsom area, spare yourself the trouble going to "known bike shops" everyone goes to because it's what they know. My experience has been: uncertainty and extensive trouble shooting + two weeks of waiting for an undetermined bill at the end maintenance ordeal. Greg at BCC is spectacularly sharp and assessed the issue on a test ride, made repairs in short order, another 4 mile ride. Problem solved. I had my bike back in two days! I took my InnerLight single speed in to have them disassemble it before powdercoating the frame, then reassemble it after powdercoating. I also had them replace the old mechanical brakes with Shimano hydraulics. Service was FAST: disassembly took 10 minutes while I watched; reassembly + brakes took a day. Prices were quite reasonable. Results were impeccable: everything is tight, properly aligned, smooth and quiet. Highest recommendation! read more

I finally invested in a new bike and bike rack and I am very happy with my decision!!! Dave always helped me put air in the tires and oil up the chain for my cheap little bike so I definitely wanted to give him my business!!! All the staff members are really awesome! Great service. Called same day to get a bike fitting. Arrived had a short wait outside of main entrance (as only so many people allowed in the store at one time). Entered and received immediate assistance from one of the staff members. Picked out a bike to ride and test fitting. Was able to ride the bike around the massive parking lot (with hill and all) could've even taken it through the neighborhood behind the shop. Enjoyed how knowledgeable and accommodating staff was. Also enjoyed being able to test out bicycles and get adjustments if needed prior to purchasing. They have aluminum bikes and select carbon fiber ones- however they get shipments of carbon fiber bikes so just call and ask. read more

I have visited the shop multiple times for servicing my bikes (I have several high end bikes, Cannondale Lefty, Specialized s-works epic). The service quality itself is below average: gearing that I had asked to tune/adjust at my last service was just as bad after service as it was before with exactly the same problem, and bar tape they placed didn't even last a year .... what finally made me change bike shops was their terrible inflexibility and rigidity. I never had asked for a change in the expected service completion day before, but on this occasion I had a short notice event coming up, so I asked 4 days before the event (and again 1 day before) whether they could complete at least 1 of the two bikes I had brought in for service (which would have been just 2 days before the completion date they had given me) and they refused - I appreciate that there are waitlists, but most bike shops that I have worked with over many years are usually accommodating when something important comes up for a customer and you are not a customer who regularly asks to move pick up days forward. Utterly inflexible and unhelpful and combined with below average service. I recommend to anyone who cares about cycling not to use this bike shop. read more

I took my bike to get the tubes replaced and the front desk rep told me to bring my bike in and place it on the mat in front of the screen and someone would check me in. Brought the bike in, and I'm waiting....15 mins go by and still no one approaches me, they just glance at me like I'm some unwanted guest, mind you, I was the only customer in the store.
