    Duct tape used for repair
    Alisa D.

Last month I took my Specialized Hybrid into Folsom Bike (now named Trek Bike) to fix a flat tire. I've brought my bike here off and on for minor repairs for 8 years. This flat on my rear tire has reoccurred more than a few times and Folsom Bike told me there is no issue with the wheel and spokes. After another flat, I brought my bike to another Bike Shop. They discovered the previous repair was made with duct tape (see attached photo). I was very disappointed to say the least!

K was very helpfull and professional with my emtb purchase. From the test ride to to the 10% off accesorry purchase, then throwing in a free cup of joe. I definitely recommend this bike shop.

Overpriced, Rude, pretentious ...only good is they have a decent selection, but I can go online for that. I heard them tell another customer over the phone that he should take his business elsewhere! I know I will be doing so. They sold me the wrong size rim tape even though I explicitly told them the wheels I needed it for. The price was $23.99 and I didn't really bat an eye at the time until I was near Mike's Bikes and went in to purchase the correct size and the price was $13.99. this is for the exact same length except the width was slightly wider for the tape at Mike's Bikes. What a rip off.

In a time where finding a nice bike in stock is nearly impossible - Folsom Bike came through with not only great availability, but with great employees as well. After several months of searching at my local bike shops and online with no luck, I found a great bike on Folsom Bike's website and purchased it right away. First thing in the morning Travis gave me a call and congratulated me on my purchase and set up a time for me to come pick it up. When I arrived to the shop the whole team welcomed me and Andrew stepped up to assist with the fitting and accessories. Working with Andrew was a huge breath of fresh air and honestly one of the best experiences in any retail encounters I have ever had in my life. He was obviously not only passionate about bikes, but also about helping me get the right pieces of gear and accessories for my new bike. I would give Folsom Bike and my experience there a 10/10, and will gladly return whenever I need anything bike related! Looking forward to my new Trek - thanks guys!

Three strikes and you are out... I tried to buy a bike from you in September last year(Trek Domane SLR7)and had a really poor experience. I purchased elsewhere. Shook it off and returned around May needing a small part for my Trek STP 400. Totally indifferent service. In this store not spending much must mean unimportant. Returned today and was greeted by a really nice young man. We talked a little to define my reason for the visit(very pleasant). Just looking for ideas to replace my old school Trek STP 400. My 2020 Trek Domane SLR7 proved how dated my 2010 Cervelo R3SL was. Thinking the same applies for my 2004 Trek STP 400(last one made). I had to take a business call shortly after arriving and sat on a couch (1-2 minutes)away from everyone. I was told(scolded)very aggressively that I had to leave the store and finish my call outside by a different employee(tallish male, brown hair ,35ish) . I will spend a lot more bicycle dollars in the future. None will be spent at Folsom Bike. I will continue to vote with my wallet.

    Bad service.

Waited in the service line to rent a bike for 20 mins. They told me I was in the wrong line and had to get in the back of the sales line. To rent a bike. Which is a service. The people in the sales line.

    Bike and bike rack

I decided it was time to purchase a good bike, versus the Walmart specials I've purchased in the past. Erin helped me by asking what my biking style is, where I ride and where I would like to be able to ride my bike. I went with a hybrid, Trek bike. She helped me find the style of bike rack I wanted for my suv and big plus-they install! So I left with a brand new bike, added accessories and bike rack to get it home safely.

I made my decision and couldn't be happier with my choice or the level of service provided by Slater, who helped me through the process. I was given an ETA of a week but the bike showed up yesterday (4 days after I ordered it) and was ready to roll. The rest of the staff is awesome too. I had to bring the bike in today because some punk made me hit a pole and bent my derailer hanger. They fixed the bike while I waited and didn't charge me. I'm assuming they didn't charge because I just picked up the bike yesterday. Either way, I love that shop and will happily send my friends and family there!

Travis gave me a few recommendations after learning the kind of bike I have, my weekly bike mileage and where I usually ride. He was familiar with my current bike, showed me the present day equivalent and answered all my questions. I really wanted to sleep on the decision and do a little more research so I came back the next day. Sean got me set up to test ride one of the bikes Travis recommended. They kept my license and credit card, asked my helmet size, made sure the bike was road worthy and adjusted the seat for my height. Sean talked me through how to use the bike because today's bike technology is more advanced than my current bike. I took it for a spin around the residential area behind the shop and decided to make the purchase. I upgraded the pedals (most bikes these days don't come with pedals which is just wild to me). Sean took the time to review the warranties for the frame and all other components, how to care for the chain and what came with the purchase (free adjustments for 30 days, (1) level one service within the first 12 months) and how to care for the carbon frame. I love the no pressure environment. Both guys were super helpful and knowledgeable. I'm a fan. And now I'll be EVEN faster than my husband.

They didn't have the Checkpoint in stock so they ordered it and told me it would show up in a week. 9 days went by so I called to check in and see if they had an ETA since the bike was two days late at that point. It was then that I was told by an employee that the bike had north of a month long backorder. The employee seemed surprised that the manager who sold me the Checkpoint didn't tell me that it was backordered. At this point, I was not OK with having been deceived into this deal so I said I wanted my bikes back or a cash refund. I went in to the Trek store the day after my phone call with the employee and the manager lied to my face saying he didn't know there was a backorder. Nice try. I work for an auto dealership. We can see when cars and parts are backordered. A couple days went by and the employee called me again last Tuesday to inform me that they had found a bike in Tennessee and could have it in my hands by the weekend and asked if I wanted the bike or store credit. I chose the bike. The weekend came and went and still no bike so my brother called on my behalf since I didn't have time to call today 4/27/2026 and they told him the bike would show up tomorrow but would not be able to be built until Friday because their "builder" is out until then. More lies. Anybody in that store could build the bike. I know this because everyone in the El Dorado Hills store builds bikes. At this point, I now have a Giant Revolt 2 (I strongly suggest trying that bike) that will be my bike and I will be selling the Checkpoint for cash when I have it in hand because I am 100% done with Trek. I will be having it inspected by a trusted shop first before I sell it though because I now don't trust Trek Folsom to not sabotage the bike since I have been very clear about my displeasure both in this review and the survey I got in an email. I will NEVER do business with Trek again and will do everything in my power to direct everyone I meet away from Trek. This Checkpoint would have been my 4th Trek bike and after this experience, it will be my last for sure. Nice going guys. You drove away someone who was planning to ride your bikes for life! Great business! Anyway, if you want an awesome gravel bike, go to Mike's Bikes in Folsom and check out the Giant Revolt 2. I should probably be thanking Trek because had it not been for this experience, I never would have wound up with a far superior bike. Anyway, negative 1,000,000 stars for these guys.
