Tied for one of my favorite places in the world next to Zick's Specialty Meats in Berrien Springs, MI I've lived on the West Coast, traveler up and down the East Coast, all over lower and the UP and Canada and Bob's has the best smoked peppered salmon out there! Simply amazing! So moist, tender and flavorful! Zick's actually referred me to Bob when I asked Gary regarding where I could find smoked fish (fresh) local fish. Zick's now does smoked fish and it's great also. Bob's is simply guy heaven in a nutshell. Jerky, hams, braunschweiger, incredible bacon... I can go on but you get the picture! Best tri-tip I've ever had! Wow! So tender! A friend is a friend of the business owner and brought us some meats. Wow, wow, wow! The jalapeño bacon was thick cut and stayed fresh a long time - excellent! Spicy sausage was a little spicy for me but great for my husband. What a quaint place this is! We have been passing the Bob's Processing sign on M-140 for YEARS from Grand Rapids to our cottage in Watervliet. I always thought this was a place to bring in the deer you just hunted, til our cottage neighbors told us about this place. Embarrassing as l am originally from Benton Harbor and he is from Chicago! Anyways, it is a short 2 miles down the country road and there is a medium sized sign in the front yard of a white house. Behind the house, in view from the road, is a red barn. Inside was pretty amazing! There were many flavors of meats and fish. Bacon, jerky, smoked fish dips, sausages, brats, steaks, etc. We bought two 12 oz ribeyes, Olive burger patties (in a 4 pack), a pound of pepper bacon, cheddar meat sticks, jalapeños brats (4 pack), a small brick of smoked Swiss cheese and one of cheddar cheese. All for less than $70, which l thought was fair. Steaks, burgers and brats were all from the freezer. They also had some side dishes available like baked beans and potato salad. The young gal working the register is a granddaughter of the owner, told us they are open year round. A sign behind her said to ask about their "Friday Rib Special", so l did. You can call before noon on Friday to order ribs and pick them up between 4-5pm. Everything looked to be of good quality. The barn/shop looked very clean snd well stocked. This review is coming from a vegetarian, so by proxy I am leaving one from my families. We bought meats for our dads for Fathers Day (late presents because an oversight on my part, not realizing they close at noon on Saturdays.) We went in this past weekend and bought brunswauger, bacon, summer sausage and beef sticks snacks. Father in Law said the summer sausage was top notch, significant other said it was the best beef sticks he has ever had and that everything else was excellent. Noting all the awards they have seems to be well deserved. Also, a very friendly staff, great prices and this is definitely my go to place for gifts for my carnivorous families. read more

Bob's Processing - First round of goodies! - Meat Shops Near Me - South Haven, Michigan

My husband and another couple from the RV park we were staying at went day fishing on Lake Michigan. They caught a lot of trout. The boat captain told us to take the fish to Bob's to have it smoked. Oh my it was best smoked fish ever and we have had a lot of smoked fish. Then top it off here we are at an award winning meat market. We loaded up our RV freezer with as much as we could. What we have tried .... Bacon Cheddar hamburgers, several different kinds of bratwurst, thick cut (the best ever) regular and maple bacon. Ribs, One of every marinated flavored chicken breast. Bring more money then you think you need because it isn't cheap but well worth the price. This is a true family run business. The girl at the register always friendly and loved her job. Restaurants in Southwest Michigan serve the best bacon we've ever had - seriously. While we're on frequent visits to South Haven, we travel around to different towns for meals etc, and always remark on how great the bacon is. We were very pleased to find out that it comes from Bob's Processing in South Haven, and they won the Best Bacon award in 2015 ~ yay, Bob's! Now I know where their shop is located, and plan to take advantage of a local treasure. And judging by the other Yelp reviews, I need to broaden my focus from 'bacon only' :) read more

Bob is an absolute artist with meat!! We have enjoyed his good food in our home for many years now. It just wouldn't seem right to not have a boneless rib roas or spiral-sliced ham on our Christmas dinner table.
