John and Danny fixed my leaking faucet within 20 minutes of being here. This was after I was charged $125 for a plumber from Safari Plumbing to come out the day before and just look at my faucet. He was in my home for 5 minutes in total. He didn't turn the faucet on or attempt anything just based off me telling him we tried replacing the cartridges but it still leaked afterwards. Since the plumbing was behind drywall he explained to me he'd have to cut into the wall to fully diagnose the problem but he though the valves needed to me be replaced. He have me an estimate of $1500 to do that work. When I asked why I was being charged $125 for nothing being done, not even turning the faucet on, he said it was because he had to come to Castaic from Glendale. My landlords have been customers of Bob's for years. I called them over to check out a sewage smell and a leak under my toilet. I believe it was their team member Jon Lavoie who showed up. He was kind and patient, quickly identified the issues, and immediately went out to get the parts to fix them. Update to my previous review of Bob's Rooter and Plumbing: After a bad experience with them (see my previous review) a couple months ago, I was surprised to get an invoice from them in the mail this week. Their invoice states that my kitchen drain was cleared on 2/28, by a technician named "Bill". Problem is, their technician never showed up at my house, much less cleared my drain! They never mentioned any cancellation charge (which would have been ridiculous anyway). Unbelievable. By the way, this bill was not a computer glitch, or an automated billing mistake. This is an invoice that clearly states that a technician showed up at my house and cleared my drain. In my book that's not an honest mistake, it's a complete lie. I knew they had terrible customer service. Now I know they are dishonest as well. Do NOT give them your business. read more

I am a real estate sales person in Glendale and I have been using Bob and his sons for years not just for sewer line camera inspections but for actual repairs and upgrades. They are personable, honest and efficient. The housing stock in my area is pushing a century old. These homes weren't built with the foresight to anticipate a lot of the issues homeowners face today. I have learned to give all tradesmen work on these properties a lot of respect and patience. Code requirements, technology and home fashion change over time and these guys all find themselves having to be very creative in their pursuit of customer satisfaction. Bob's did the sewer line re-pipe on my house 8 years ago and I've had no problems. All of my clients have been impressed with their service and work. We use them on our rental properties too. Bob's grandson, Shane, gave gave me a detailed estimate to replace incoming pipes on my 100 year old house. The price was fair and the estimate included several extras, like securing my gas line and re setting my sprinkler valves more attractively. The work began and was completed the next day. Mat oversaw the work crew with supervision from Shane. Everyone was polite, neat, and professional. The work was completed after dark, but Shane didn't ask for payment until he returned the next day so that we could both check out the job and the cleanup and trouble shoot water pressure etc. I am so glad to have found this fine company. Bob's did a good job installing my tankless hot water heater, so I started using them for other things. Big mistake! They struggled to install a low-flow toilet (taking 4 hours); later it became obvious they'd installed the seat incorrectly. One unsuccessful fix later, I had to get my contractor in to re-do it. But the worst thing is that--for the four calls I've had since the water heater installation--they are chronically late, calling toward the end of whatever window they gave me to say it's going to be another couple of hours. The fact that I can't be here at whatever time is convenient for them always comes as a shock. Also, it's a family business, so the receptionist can be as snippy and brusque as she wants--she can't be fired. read more

Why am I writing this review?!? Bob's plumbing is amazing. They just left my house after 1 hour and didn't charge me anything. They told me estimates were free and they meant it. First, I had another popular Yelp plumber come to the house. When I pointed out the strange smell in my kitchen island, he said it was probably mold. Knowing that I had some sort of plumbing issue, I called Bob's Plumbing. Unfortunately, Bob's grandson, Bill (it is family owned) found that my kitchen drain pipe was broken and leaking under the house. Since I have a home warranty policy, I called them and Bill spoke with rep. Since they could send someone to take care of the problem, they would not approve Bob's Plumbing. But if this doesn't work out with warranty (you know how warranties work), I am immediately calling Bob's Plumbing to take care of the job. Glad we found this plumber. He's local, too. I called 4 plumbers late in the day...around 5:30 PM. Bob's was the only one who said they could have someone come take a look at my non-emergency situation that evening. The others were scheduled to come to give me an estimate the next day. I had two problems. One problem was much simpler than we expected. Jonathan (from Bob's) took a look at the pipe and basically corrected the problem right there at no charge. Apparently, it was just a loose screw (or something like that). The second problem was a slow draining sink. Initially, Jonathon thought he just needed to clean out the pipes and garbage disposal, however, the disposal ended up needing to be replaced or removed. We decided to remove it. He provided a fair priced estimate and said he would come back another day to finish fixing the problem. In the meantime, I continued to get estimates from the other plumbers. Bob's was the most reasonably priced estimate and Jonathan's customer service was excellent. He did all his work on a work blanket. When he was done, he rolled up the blanket and took all his trash/debris out to his van. He left my kitchen clean. He finished the job in 1 hour and invoiced me for the exact estimate. After a bathroom disaster, at my daughter's home in Saugus, my choice was Bob's Rooter . I left a message with the receptionist and received a call back within a few minutes! Then Shane, Bob's son, showed up and ta da, the problem was fixed. He explained what else could be causing the issue and all was well UNTIL two days later when - embarrassingly - the same issue reared its ugly head. Time to call Bob's again. Shane came back, greeted me at my door with a heartfelt smile and a "no worries" empathetic manner. Much needed. Let's face it, "bathroom" emergencies are humiliating. After many years of service, Bobs Plumping broke through an upstairs pipe above the kitchin.The result was 3,500. and for a new pipe, we then paid another 2,OOO . To replace the downstairs kitchen ceasing . Two months later it rained and the patch that was done on the outside of the house leaked badly!!! Thats when our ceiling had to be replaced. We hired a reliable contractor to find out what caused the leek and it was traced to the plumbing that was reported to be incurectly done. Bob would not return my calls when I asked that he pay for part of the repair work which had to be redone. If you want a company that stands behind the work..."go elsewhere ". DO NOT USE BOB'S - HORRIBLE. The guys came out, pretty much detected the obvious with a backup in our place - the solution - spend $16,000 replacing all the pipes - wow. So the said roots were in the line, so i paid them to use thier root cutter ($200) and this was suppossed to come out and fix the backup. Nope. Had them come out again - then they said they needed to replace the pipe to the main street - $4200 - guess i look like Donald Trumph. So i had enough and called another plumber - hi powered cleaning did the trick. These guys are clueless rookies and are only interested in figuring out how to rip you off. read more

Lets start with Bob's having a dumpster dropped off at 5:30am - that is concrete on steel -loud as hell - at 5:30am waking the entire street up. Pretty sure that is not even legal to have work starting before 8am in residential neighborhoods. Follow it up with them blocking the front door to our property with their truck so I had to go speak to the foreman to move the truck. This would be repeated half a dozen more times over the course of a day. No regard for anyone. We were stuck standing in our yards attempting to yell over power tools for them to hear us and move their truck. Talking to their foreman does nothing, talking to their guys does nothing, they then just piled tools in front of our front door and left them so we could not enter or exit and again had to say - move it! Every time no consideration. No professionalism. We should not have to ask 7 times. We should not have to ask twice. Did I mention they were supposed to be fixing a sewer line on our street and not even working specifically at our house?! If their people are so unprofessional and clueless as to block front doors, driveways and garages - I don't think they should be driving and parking trucks at all. I certainly won't ever hire them to fix anything and neither will any of our neighbors. They are a nightmare. You suck Bob's, you really really suck. 5:30am start time? Would you want me to do that to your family? Would you want a bunch of guys to block the front door to your house? RIDICULOUS. read more

Had all my house plumbing replaced by Bob's Rooter & Plumbing about 4 years ago. Now I got this pipe leaking so bad it's causing damage to my house flooring and frames. Called them up to fix the problem, an operator told me a plumber will take care of the problem the following day between 3 - 4 PM. Waited and waited ... Nobody showed, no calls from them either. Comes the second day, still no show. Can you trust their (Bob's Rooter & Plumbing) workmanship and service? You decide. An all-around Handyman can do way better job than Bob's, and a lot cheaper, too. read more

I have used the franchise plumbers before, but this time, I chanced upon Bob's company doing an internet search, and was swayed by the customer reviews. I am taking the time to write this -- because I was so pleased with every aspect of their service. From the very friendly and helpful response at the end of the first phone call, to the scheduling of a quick and convenient appointment, to the technician arriving on time! The first time we used them, we had a chronically plugged bathroom drain, which they cleared for about $173. My husband has poured at least that much Drano down the drain in the last five years I have complained about it :-) So happy was I that I brought them back to replace a kitchen faucet that broke. The plumber actually went and picked one out for us at the store and came back and installed it! Beautiful job! I almost wish something else was broken so I could call them again. read more

We had this company come out to check on a slow-running drain and a garbage disposal. They fixed it but said more work was involved and left us with a $800 estimate. A week or so later we called them to get the work done. Our schedule allows only Saturdays. We waited almost three weeks for a Saturday appointment, then sat at home for 5 hours and Bob's Rooter & Plumbing was a no-show! We called them every hour and only got a service - apparently there's no way to get a real person on the weekends. We were VERY VERY UNHAPPY to have lost an entire Saturday waiting for Bob's Rooter & Plumbing when they did not even have the courtesy to call us and cancel. Johnathan came out on a Friday afternoon and replaced the leaking drain under my kitchen sink that the previous plumber had totally messed up. He was on time, courteous and cleaned up when he was done. The next morning I noticed something else was leaking under the same sink and called back only to find out they were closed on Saturday. So I left my message with their service and expected a call on Monday. 30 minutes later Johnathan called me back and said he would be right over to see what was going on. He was here in 30 minutes, fixed the loose air vent to the dishwasher and was gone in less than 10 minutes.The best part of my experience was how friendly and efficient Johnathan was, (not to mention good looking too). The second best part was there was no charge for the Saturday visit! I requested a call on the website on Saturday morning. I was a little anxious, so when I did not get a call in 45 minutes, I called. They told someone would be out in a few hours. Just like they said, Donny showed up and worked 7 hours straight. All plumbing clogged up and needed to be snaked to the street. Donny and Armando came back today (Tuesday) as promiced, installed a clean out valve, poured new cement and finished the job. Luckily it wasn't as big a problem as it could have been. Had used these guys several times in the past and was quite happy. But after the last experience, I'm banishing them for life! Bob's nephew Bill and I went through multiple negotiations about when he might show up and do the job. Of course, he was always late or didn't show at all. The job took multiple visits to complete as he needed parts or whatever. Each time was again, will he show up or not??? Waiting, waiting. In the end, the job was complete, but a faucet was not fixed properly and was leaking. Last time I saw him, he said he would return with the part and fix it. He never showed up again and I was never even given an invoice. I called the office, yet they still never sent an invoice. Months and months later, I receive an invoice. In early September Shane came to snake my sewer line and had the camera in the truck to view this ongoing and bi-annual problem. Roots from the tree on adjoining property had finally taken their toll on the sewer line and it needed to be replaced. Because my mother, who is 94 years old, recommended Bob's plumbing 10 years ago I knew they were the go to guys. Shane gave clear verbal description of the sewer problem of my 90 year old house. At the same time he also gave a clear description of the remedy for the problem. He gave me a written estimate and we scheduled an appointment for the following week. After checking with alternatives on line and with friends with similar friends, I decided to proceed with Bob's plumbing. Shane promised 2 days for the trenchless, pipe reline with pvc and epoxy.
