Had a clogged toilet. Plunged it then found out my genius teen flushed a vape pen. Called out Moran. He said he needed to take the toilet off and check the inside. He ran a camera through it while off. I'm no plumber but didn't understand why he couldn't just run the camera through while still mounted. There was nothing in it or the pipe. He charged me $320. Then didn't install the toilet properly so there was a slow leak behind it and it grew a mushroom behind the toilet in one week! Called the office to inform them and told them the $320 was ridiculous to fix nothing, the same guy came out to fix his mistake and acted like he did us a favor by doing that for free. Additionally on his first visit I asked for an estimate to replace a toilet in a different room his quote was $635. read more

The HOA sent a guy from Moran plumbing out to my unit for less than 10 min ... quoted me $1025 ...I did not use them ... got the job done for $225 with another plumbing company. When they realized I would not use them they invoiced my HOA $175 for " his investigation." They are in cahoots with my HOA for sure. When I asked would that $175 cover the re-plaster for my neighbor's ceiling, I was told I would have to pay that separately. Not to mention the guy on the phone is a rude incompetent jerk. After 37 years, we started to get some pinhole leaks on our galvanized plumbing. After the 2nd leak, and dodging any significant damage, we started looking for a company to do a repipe of the house. The wife contacted five local plumbers to come out for a quote. Two never even responded to our phone call...I guess business is good! Of the three that came out, all were on time and professional. One did only copper, which we didn't want. The 2nd never sent me the estimate. Moran had the estimate in our hands same day as his walk-through, and included everything, including drywall patching, texture matching and priming. We went with Moran. Monday: Showed up exactly on time and by day's end had all of the main plumbing done and had one bathroom for us to use. Tuesday: Had the second bathroom and kitchen done. Needed to be inspected. Wednesday: City inspection complete and drywall patched. Thursday: Final inspection of drywall work and they were done. This company is extremely professional, on-time, neat and clean and seem to take real pride in their work. I cannot recommend them highly enough to do work on your NUMBER ONE INVESTMENT...your home. Moran was referred to us and everyone said how great they were. Now we are part of the referral group! NOBODY wants to spend hard earned dollars on plumbing, but if you have to, it needs to be done RIGHT so you have years and years of flawless operation. One word: Moran! read more

Not sure why they have an emergency service number.. Don't bother calling it unless you want to wait 4 hours for a return call. This is one of several times I've used it, and unfortunately I always get the owner, Renee who is the rudest person I've ever spoken to -- and it's always 4 hours for a return call. Tonight though, he actually hung up on me -- which is why I decided to write this. Guess he doesn't understand what a 'customer' is. And Saturday hours? You can forget that! They are the main plumber for our association. They get enough work from them -- they don't need homeowners work when we call. And honestly, they charge more than many other plumbers in Santa Clarita anyway. PLEASE --- do yourself a favor -- Look for someone else No customer deserves to be hung up on. Moran Plumbing does awesome work. We've had them do a major gas line repipe for a spa & bbq, tankless water heater, leak repairs, toilet replacement, and other miscellaneous repairs,. All jobs have been done well every time. Rene's is a great, conscientious, reasonable person that I enjoy doing business with. One word of caution - they work from a menu of fixed rates, and bill PER TASK. We had granite countertops put in, and needed 4 sinks reconnected (kitchen and 2 bathrooms). I didn't think I needed to get a quote ahead of time as I've used them so many times before and the bills were always reasonable. I got blind-sided with a bill for over $1000 of labor for 4 hours of work (2 techs). They billed me as if I called them out 4 separate times to connect 4 sinks. I called and spoke with Rene about it, he gave me a small discount, but the loss of trust stings more than anything else. I'm generally fine with paying a premium prices for premium work, but that seemed excessive. Their billing practices need some further thought for this scenario (some sort of bundle pricing). read more

As we tried to address a broken flush issue, we discovered the toilet water valve was non functional, the main valve not fully efficient, and, much worse, that we had a huge water back flow coming from wherever in the house. It turned out the water regulator was no longer working and was causing a lot of havoc throughout the house unbeknownst to us. I have to add that the plumbing problem was compounded with a much larger issue. It is my elderly father-in-law's house. He has historically been very leery of allowing any stranger in his house and decision to make it happen would always be postponed to a later calendar, eventually never taking place. I described the situation to Robin over the phone who eventually suggested that Joe handles the assignment, Joe came within less than 2 hours of my initial call, assessed the situation, kept me in the loop over the phone as he made his discoveries, and completed the job. I am not only happy with the plumbing outcome but appreciate very much the quality of Joe's communication. Even more important to my family, our father-in-law is happy with outcome. This means he will now trust us with bringing other trusted contractors to help him out. As mentioned in another review, Moran Plumbing bills per task. This can become a bit of a burden very quickly. Quick version: Very happy with the speed and quality of service; no surprise charges. Long version: I just moved to Santa Clarita, and all my neighbors kept talking about how hard the water is. So I went online, did my research, and ended up buying a Pelican whole house filter and no salt softener (yes, yes, I know it's technically a conditioner). The website said how easy it was to install. The website is a lying liar. It requires special tools and parts not included with the system. Calling around I got insanely high estimates for installation. I was about to just pick a random plumber when I called Rene over at Moran. He had recently installed two similar systems, his prices were fair and by far the lowest of the others I had called, AND he was even able to fix the drywall he had to break through to get to the pipes. The day of, he showed up on time, we discussed how to get the system to look neat and take up a small footprint in my garage, and he got to work. He was done very quickly, and texted me a picture of the job while I was at work. I was so happy with the results - aesthetically, it was as good as it could get, and everything works fantastically. EXCELLENT SERVICE & WORKMANSHIP I purposely waited a month before posting a review to make sure that my re-pipe job was still working good. My house had many leaky pipes so it was time to get it redone with copper pipes. I was referred to Moran Plumbing. When I called Moran Plumbing, I spoke to Robin, who was very nice and efficient. We set up an appointment to meet with Rene, the owner. Rene arrived promptly and gave me a fair price estimate. I was impressed with his vast plumbing experience and how organized he was. He gave me a folder with my printed job description/estimate and related plumbing information. My re-pipe job took 4 days to complete. Rene had 2 assistants and they did a fantastic job. They arrived on time every morning and worked the entire day. I had a couple of extra things that I needed done (replace an old toilet, replace a bathroom sink faucet and 2 flow valves in toilets). Rene added a fair rate for those extra jobs. What really impressed me was what a great job they did with patching the holes in the drywall after they were finished with the re-pipe. You couldn't even tell where the hole used to be. In addition, Rene noticed that my water heater in the garage was not installed properly so he fixed it. I was very pleased with this entire job! In desperation, I was going on a vacation to another country and the night before, my downstairs toilet had decided to make an enormous and very smelly mess, which nearly spread to the living room carpet! Faced with a broken toilet that is well-used by the way, I knew I had to jump on this! So I consulted my local businesses to find a plumber. I called Moran because they are local and I figured they'd get round to me quickly. We set an appointment. They arrived bang on the promised time and immediately set to figuring out what was wrong with my toilet... They told me the truth about my 10-year-old toilet and gave me a fair price to replace it, which they did in about 20 minutes flat. The price, installed, was not a nasty surprise and we have since already benefited from a greener water usage too. God only knows what other problems we would have had if they had just fixed up our antique toilet, which they demonstrated was really full of problems waiting to happen! On the way out, they also fixed my irrigation valves, which had been leaking for longer than I could remember and added the labor that involved for a price I felt was a gift! Today, he and his co-worker came out to unclog some outside drains, which were full of dirt and roots. They also installed a new water heater...all in about 3 hours! Prices were fair, reasonable and in line with other quotes we received for the same work...maybe even a little less! We bought our first home about four months ago and have noticed an extremely unpleasant, sewage smell coming from our upstairs bathroom shower. The previous owner had several past invoices from Moran Plumbing, telling me, they were happy with their services, so I decided to give them a call. I left a message over the holidays and got a prompt call back. I was able to get someone to come out the next morning. Miguel showed up right on time, was extremely friendly, and very knowledgeable. He replaced two p-traps under our sinks and diagnosed the source of the awful smell... a missing p-trap from our upstairs shower (yay.... not!). I am extremely happy with my service from Moran. We had a slow leak that started in the upstairs master bath and was coming into the kitchen. We'd used Moran Plumbing in the past but never had a big job like this. They were amazing as always and still went over and beyond. They even did a general inspection while everything was open to ensure we wouldn't have a near future problem in the same area and cleared the shower drain. After calling my Home Protection Ins. Co. to clear a drain and being told the problem would cost $3.468.00 to repair I called Moran Plumbing. The problem was fixed in an hour by Hydro Jetting. I have used Moran Plumbing twice now for two jobs. My neighbor had referred me to them. The first job was copper repiping. I couldn't have been happier with the price and the workmanship. It took a few days to do and the workers were so neat that the site they were working on daily looked cleaner than the rest of the house!!
