Pretty decent and cheap sub shop. The portions are actually very large for the price, and it makes sense why the students seem to flock here when school is in session. I got to try their chicken parm sub and the regular grilled chicken sub (they called it the chicken filet or something). Both were quite nice. The chicken parm sub had tons of tomato sauce and the breading, although a bit uneven, wasn't bad. The chicken seemed decently fresh too. Bread is very average. They included Mayo in all their subs, which is interesting, but not that unwelcome. Average cheese, kind of flavorless. The regular chicken was interestingly superior. It was lighter and creamier at the same time? Probably the Mayo not being overpowered by the tomato sauce. Vegetables a little wimpy. Great food, but don't plan on ordering ahead. I've been on the phone over 15 min trying to place an order. I'm now in the store and just ordered in person while watching them pick up the phone and place every call on hold, including mine, which redials their phone every 6 min. It's actually comical to watch, but frustrating to experience. Why not just tell the callers that you aren't taking phone orders at this time due to volume?? read more

Eh...marginal. stopped in for some quick food with my son between basketball games in a tournament he was participating in. The place wasn't too crowded. I got a gyro and he got an Italian sub. I don't even live in the area but still crave and make the drive to have one of their Corned Beef Subs, everything on it! No one wears a mask and the service is completely awful, there's a total lack of any customer service or professionalism every time I try to order a sub from there. One time when I tried to place an order The dude asked for my name, I told him it and then he said he was just going to call me something else completely, it was so bizarre. They locked their doors 45 minutes before the time that they actually closed. I really like their subs, it's a shame that it's such an ordeal trying to get food from there. For years I asked myself, "what's all the hype with Bob's?" I just thought people were loyal to them because they're an iconic Slippery Rock eatery. I finally decided to give them a try a few months ago. I have to say, they make damn good subs! Sheetz has some decent subs, but not as good as Bob's. Subway subs are sub-standard; it all went downhill after Jared lol. Bob's subs melt in your mouth and the bread and meat quality are exceptional. I would give them five stars, but they are a bit on the expensive side and do nickel and dime you for small add-ons, like extra mayo. Otherwise about the best subs this area has to offer. Worst service I have experience in awhile. You stand in line waiting your turn only to find you will continue to wait while they give priority to those who are phoning in their orders. You will continue to wait longer as the person taking orders performs other tasks. You are better off standing in line and calling your order in....it will be a lot quicker! Bob's sub is a staple in downtown Slippery Rock. Old and new students alike have been enjoying this place for who knows how long. They cut all their meats onsite and toast the rolls. I always order mine with no mayo because they use a lot of mayo. If you aren't a fan get it without or light mayo. The guys that were working today were nice and quick. You can choose from 3 different sizes. Junior, senior, or giant. I almost think it would be a sophomore, junior, and a senior, but I'm sure it's been the same way for years too. Very cute sandwich place that been around for a while and has a Star Wars pin ball machine! I wish Yelp would let me do half stars as this place is closer to 3.5 stars, but they were so friendly I had to round up. I ordered a roast beef hot deli sandwich for around $5 bucks and maybe I should ordered it will a roll instead of rye bread. The rye bread was ok-nothing special..and I found the sandwich to be a bit on the smaller side. The roast beef was nice and tender I would say superior quality compared to other sandwich meats. They had a list of items it came it and asked what I would like omitted. I swapped the provolone cheese for swiss and they confirmed it came with iceberg lettecue. Who knew I would be so happy to have iceberg instead of romaine?! Anyway I should of taken a picture of my sandwich but I was too hungry. Bobs subs was a small place to eat subs. This place was cash only so be prepared. It was empty and I almost felt bad. The menu had a lot of choices and I decided to order a giant Pastrami sandwich ($6 total). I waited a few minutes which gave me time to take pictures of the interior. The Pastrami sandwich was good and was enough for me to get full. I wanted everything on my sub except onions. My Pastrami sandwich was good and the giant size would be equivalent to a footlong. If you order an Italian sub, you should be okay. But if you order any other sandwich (such as steak and cheese), be prepared for very little meat on your sandwich and lots of disappointment! Even calling to complain is useless. We requested sauce on the side - didn't get any. We asked for extra sauce, didn't get any. I am a very loyal customer at bobs to the point of many employees knowing me by name and order. However last night I went to get a sub and was denied service even though I arrived before they closed. I was then talked down to when I tried to explain that I was there before they closed. If both sets of doors are unlocked and your open sign is on... aren't you open? The cashier was very rude and disrespectful about it for zero reason. My experience at Bob's Sub in Slippery Rock today was a bad one. I ordered subs ahead. I went up to what I thought was the pick up window. I was rudely told I couldn't pay cash there card only. Meanwhile I was accused of cutting in line. i didn't think I would have to stand in the "order" line since I already ordered by phone. I left and returned with my credit card and stood there. The employee was rude again by saying that lady wants her order. I told her you said told me I could pay here with a credit card. The other cashier took me at his cash register. I don't understand if you order ahead why you have to stand in the order line. Is there a pickup window? I do not understand. If you're that backed up then have the courtesy to let your customers know at the point of sale so they can determine if they have enough time to enjoy lunch.
