    Tiramisu

I had heard a lot about Simplified Meals by Ginger, so I stopped out to grab some breakfasts and lunches to stock at work the other day. What I think is really cool is that the food is all homemade and put into ready-to-eat portioned meals that you can stash in your freezer. 3-4 minutes in the microwave and bam - you have lunch! I started with two of the chilled ham & egg bakes - cooked with cheese and cherry tomatoes. They warmed perfectly and were a great instant hot breakfast. For lunch I picked up the frozen Greek Chicken. It was portioned with potatoes and asparagus. Even after the quick zap in the microwave the chicken was still soft and tender. Dessert was Tiramisu - just plain yum. At about $4-$6 each, it was a delicious meal that didn't taste like it came out of a frozen box from a factory. You know that taste - it always looks so good on the box but ends up tasting like the box. It tasted like real food. The concept is perfect for busy working people or students at the local University. I was so excited I went on to their website and pre-ordered 10 meals (about $60). When ordered online you can customize the sides - make that brown rice instead of potatoes, or whipped cauliflower instead of broccoli. There are also plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options. You can also order to get a full family meal instead of a single portion. I am thinking their lasagna would be perfect for dinner some night. They do serve hot food that you can also take out - and soup. There is a microwave inside if you wanted to heat and eat right away. There are a couple of tables outside that you can eat at, but nothing inside, which is an issue for the winter months.

Love their Peruvian chicken hot bar. Great cookies desserts as well. Thank goodness they came to Slippery Rock.

We enjoyed our Cajun chicken pasta (4.5/5) and the buffalo chicken sandwich (4.5/5). The Backpack Stash IPA was really good and this is coming from someone who doesn't drink much beer. The walls had a lot of cool historical vintage photos and antique items. There's indoor and outdoor seating. We had really good friendly service (5/5). We recommend this restaurant! Happy Yelping :)

Our server was Dustin (or Justin, we weren't sure) who was terrific (ask for him to wait on you, if you can!) I had the Italian Panini which was so yummy! Also the side dish of loaded mashed potatoes with gravy ..... They were just okay. It was quite a cold night, so 3 of us had nice hot cups of tea served in these quaint handmade mugs! And I had a glass of homemade root beer ..... ya can't go wrong! The prices are reasonable: my tea, root beer, and Italian Panini were $25. I think very moderate. Reservations are highly recommended. You can make one online for a party of up to 6. Larger groups must be reserved over the phone. Highly recommend and I would give it more than five stars if I could!

I got to try their chicken parm sub and the regular grilled chicken sub (they called it the chicken filet or something). Both were quite nice. The chicken parm sub had tons of tomato sauce and the breading, although a bit uneven, wasn't bad. The chicken seemed decently fresh too. Bread is very average. They included Mayo in all their subs, which is interesting, but not that unwelcome. Average cheese, kind of flavorless. The regular chicken was interestingly superior. It was lighter and creamier at the same time? Probably the Mayo not being overpowered by the tomato sauce. Vegetables a little wimpy. But truly, the price for the portion is really, really nice.

I ordered two sandwiches both of which were inedible. The bread they are using is so dense and bland. I called to discuss the matter and was told that they had lost their bread supplier and that the manager was out but would get back to me the next day. That was nearly three weeks ago. Like everything else, the prices have gone up. Unfortunately, the quality has gone down. $27.00 for two dreadful sandwiches. I will not be back.

I came here to pick up a gift card and I thought it would have been a quick stop. It was anything but that. This sits in a small plaza in a college town. Honestly, for a college kid this plaza could be a one stop shop. Sharing the plaza is a liquor store and Dollar Tree. It would definitely complete all your shopping needs. I went in and found the gift card section and did as quick scan of the cards. I found the one I came here for and made sure that it wasn't tampered with. With selection in hand, I make my way to the register area. With this being a smaller store there weren't many registers to begin with. However, they did have each register open, but they weren't flowing as fast as you would hope. I honestly had the one item, the gift card, and every register was backed up. Didn't matter if you wanted to try the express lane because that one was just as backed up. Do yourself a favor here, get your receipt emailed to you. It's one less thing to have to fumble with. Once I was finally through the register you are free to run out of the store.

However, I felt most of it pass away as the cashier's death stare penetrated my soul. Even the organic monkey treats trapped between my fingers started to spoil. After not being greeted, I whipped out my credit card -- only to Discover that the card company was "down" in Giant Eagle's system. I had to source a paper bill out of my leather dollar diaper. Now, my account says the payment processed, so I paid for my food twice. What an utter disgrace. The ambiance of this place isn't at all shabby, but the lack of liveliness of the employees makes me feel so dead inside. I'll return, but only when I find my precious onion rings.
