Tony came in to advise on cabinets after we had water damage to our unit. He looked around and came up with a proposal to repair all of the damage at a price that was covered by the insurance reimbursement. Tony's communication was amazing. Juan (his contractor) and the two man crew were respectful, friendly, responsive and completed the work on time and budget. Tony came by for a post-work inspection and arranged for some touch-up work. Overall, it was an outstanding experience in cost, quality and attention. I reached out Tony (owner of Boca) because the contractor that did our kitchen was non-responsive and my pantry was going nowhere after three months of back and forth. I reached out to Tony, as he had done a kitchen for my parents, and within two weeks, he'd come out, taken measurements, asked about our vision for the pantry, made and shared plans, and provided an invoice. We got the project going and in less than a month, I had my pantry installed. Boca uses high quality materials and delivers on its promises. If you tell Tony your vision, he makes it a reality. The installer that came out, Chris, was an absolute professional and perfectionist. If you can get him as an installer, I strongly encourage it. They did such an amazing job all around that we had them build out our home bar as well. Again, everything went smoothly. It's toughfinding contractors you trust to deliver on services, but working with Tony and Boca (and Chris as the installer) was a great experience. My wife and I live in a duplex condo building in Pilsen. Our unit hadn't been updated since it was built over 15 years ago, so for the sake of design aesthetics, aging appliances, and to address some bad choices by the developer and previous owners, we wanted to redo our kitchen to the extent that our budget would allow. We did not have the biggest budget but tried to be understanding and reasonable towards the limitations that the budget would present. My wife and I consulted both Home Depot and Ikea, in addition to a few other local businesses in our search process. All of these places were very optimistic about our budgets and had pretty presentations and packages. But once a quote came into play, they would always apologize and give us a number that was well outside of our capacity. Then, I drove past Boca's place one day and decided to reach out. Tony, like the others, was optimistic and promised to see what he could do with our ideas. After an initial consultation (in-person) and a week or so, we had our proposal and he was able to stay true to his word and within our budget. In the design process after accepting his proposal, he had lots of ideas to address my desires as the primary chef and the frustrations my 5-foot-tall wife had with a kitchen where everything was out of reach. Mind you, much of our kitchen layout remained the same because there is not much that can be done with the layout of our condo. But even still, through his suggestions and my ideas, we were able to open up the kitchen a bit, increase cabinet storage by about 30% or more, brighten up the design elements, and make everything more accessible. The cabinets are wonderful and the custom work that was done is perfect. Because Tony worked with us every step of the way, my wife and I now have the kitchen we have always wanted. Tony is the man with the plan and knows how to make it happen even when no one else in the industry seems to be able to do it. I cannot recommend him enough and have already recommended the company to some neighbors in my building! I was looking to have a floor-to-ceiling bookcase built in on a long living room wall (20ft). Erik gave us by far the best bid, and it's beautiful. In addition to requesting cabinets along the lower part of the bookshelves, I requested a door he had in stock, but for it to be enamel white versus the color he had in stock. He painted it, delivered, and installed it here in MN, from where he was at the time in Illinois (2013). I highly recommend Erik and his cabinetry. It's much, much higher quality than in-store options at a much, much better price. And Erik is extremely easy to work with, a real pleasure. I really really wanted to write a positive review here for Boca but I'm afraid we've been gravely disappointed with Boca and the Owner Austin. First, we did have two fairly good interactions to start. Our Contractor worked with Boca to help supply basic and straight forward cabinetry for our Laundry Room and Guest Bathroom. The cabinets were basic and turned around in a reasonable amount of time. However, when we chose Boca to help us with our Master Bathroom Cabinetry we were treated with one of the worst customer experiences I've dealt with in Chicago. We ended up ordering "Custom" Cabinets from Boca, in Mid-November. These custom cabinets were simply standard cabinets with a unique combination/configuration (e.g. not custom measurements or trim) and a standard Sherman Williams Gray. After four weeks (...expected delivery time) our contractor made a few phone calls to understand ETA on the delivery. It turns out an employee at Boca quit and never ordered the cabinets. I understand things happen so we asked for rush delivery and an updated ETA, this is where we started to get frustrated. Boca and Owner Austin repeatedly tried to tell us what he thought we wanted to hear, "they'll be here tomorrow", "they are in transit", etc. but would never confirm a Shipping Confirmation. Turns out, they never had been shipped, nor painted and he had to go drive to Ohio after waiting another 4 weeks to pick them up directly. Now our contractor has the Cabinets in Chicago but had to pull in a true "Custom" Cabinet person to paint them properly and it turns out Boca has given us the wrong combination of Bathroom Cabinets (e.g. no drawers). After 12+ weeks of delays, we are now having to wait on much of these Cabinets to be built custom and Boca will not finished this order. I completely understand that there was somewhat of a series of unfortunate events with an employee quitting, etc. but the most frustrating thing is both my Contractor and I were never able to get a straight answer out of Austin. Had he been honest and come clean with the real ETA and situation, we could've managed the project to be more on-time and on-budget. We will do our Kitchen next and unfortunately Boca will not be in consideration for any additional business. I hope their team gets their act together because I ended up paying full price and had a bathroom torn apart for an extra 8 weeks to learn my lesson. I suggest you look elsewhere. read more

I wish I could give them no stars. This was THE WORST! cabinet experience I have ever had. NEVER USE THEM!! Only half the order came AND it was LATE! Then Austin (manager) gave me crap when I said the other cabinets weren't delivered. Not to mention fillers and toe kicks were delivered even later. And on top of that, handles came in EVEN LATER and he said I had to go pick them up when I paid for delivery. Even more so, the filler was cracked and drawers were not level in the cabinets. Absolutely astounding at what this business thinks is ok. Go elsewhere and save yourself the angst. read more

His knowledge and expertise around placement and arrangement is incredible, adding fillers to make the kitchen look and flow seamlessly. He also helped with some layout issues and was very accommodating. He was always super quick with his responses and always available to answer questions! The price at Boca beat the big box company by half (and the quality was much nicer!). I ordered my cabinets just before Christmas and even with all the holidays I had my cabinets super fast (3 weeks from my order date). I brought my layout in to BOCA to get a quote: I've done kitchens before and know how the process works; but the staff was really helpful with walking me through some of the more detailed aspects, that I didn't realize were involved before. We received our cabinets in about a weeks time from when we ordered. Additionally, I needed a couple of extra materials to do my laundry room and they got those out to me within a week from the initial delivery. I've never felt compelled to actually post a Yelp review but couldn't resist with Boca. I couldn't disagree more with the other review. My experience with Boca, and specifically Austin, was excellent. The pricing was terrific, the delivery was prompt, and the service impeccable. The cabinets look great and are very solid quality. It is hard to believe that the other reviewer is even talking about the same person because Austin helped me every step of the way. He did the layout to make my kitchen look great and helped me to make sure that everything really clicked. When I messed up a measurement, Austin worked with me to get me a nice decorative molding to make it look good. Ramon in the warehouse kept me up to date with my cabinet build and the delivery guys were awesome professionals that put everything exactly where I needed it. I feel like I'm in some strange bizzaro world reading the other review because my experience with Boca was the exact opposite. Ramon, Gina, and especially Austin, were all extremely courteous and helpful and made a stressful kitchen remodel so much less painful. After receiving an incredibly high estimate from a big box store I thought I would pop in the strange little shop attached to the gas station. I have driven by it a million times, but was never in need of cabinets to go in. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. I was immediately greeted by Austin, whom was very friendly and professional. The shop was a legitimate showroom with many samples of their product. The shop was bustling and I was surprised and happy to see how busy it was in there. Their sign said they would beat the big box stores, and they certainly did. As a Realtor I deal with a lot of vendors and my experience with Austin and Boca Cabinets couldn't have been better. The product is excellent with many features that come standard (soft close hinges and drawers). The material was better than I expected at a price that sold me right away. I was very impressed with the delivery time as well which came about 2 weeks after I ordered them. Austin also helped me with the design and provided 3D images via email promptly. After I completed my design with him and processed my order I panicked that it was not what I really wanted. I called the next morning with the changes and he accommodated with out hesitation or issue. The final design ended up saving me money too! My own carpenter did the install of my new island and the cabinets look beautiful. I had one minor glitch with the trim and panels and Austin was able to rectify it promptly and provide me with what I needed. His communication throughout the entire process was great and he was always readily available. I would highly recommend Austin and would definitely order cabinets from Boca again. read more

I ordered cabinets from Boca for a small bar in the great room of a second home in Chicago. I had used Boca for three other projects with great success. What I didn't realize is that since the Chicago person I had dealt with was no longer with the company, the manner of doing business was much different now. Erik Halwix promised to have the cabinets to me before the end of August, but he did not. When the cabinets arrived, the upper doors and a 'built-in wine rack' were not included, nor was the trim piece that was to go on the bottom of the upper cabinets. The doors and 'wine rack' arrived two weeks later. The 'wine rack' did not fit although I had given Mr. Halwix specific dimensions for the piece. I told Mr. Halwix that I wanted a refund for the $300 'wine rack'; he told me he could only give me $150 since it was a custom item. (I never received any refund.) Then my contractor realized the trim was missing, and I advised Mr. Halwix. He told me I should use the filler instead of trim, which I told him was not acceptable and not what I ordered. He then wanted to charge me an additional $225 for a 6' trim piece I had already paid for. I told him to charge it against the $300 he owes me for the 'wine rack'. On Sept. 25, Mr. Halwix responded, "I don't know why you're giving grief about this. We provided a $6000 job for half the cost.... wholesale cost. Work with us a little here. I will have the guys order the material Monday". I paid the price that Mr. Halwix quoted WITHOUT NEGOTIATION and expect to get what I ordered and paid for in full IN ADVANCE. I have attempted to contact Mr. Halwix several times by phone and email with no response from him. read more

I have bought a lot of cabinets over the years and from several different companies (Siegle's, Home Depot, Builder Supply) they all seem to have the same problems, they send out incorrect sizes, or cabinets without doors or drawers in order to get the majority of the cabinets on the job site is all that I can think of for the reasoning. My recommendations if you choose to work with Boca Cabinets are these: 1) Order way ahead of time since the delivery date will be longer than what is told, again no different than most places. 2) Check your cabinets closely upon delivery to make sure that all the sizes and pieces are there. Like the other review of Boca, getting the replacement items takes a lot of time and effort. Immediately start asking for these replacement items. 3) Don't buy the builders series cabinet, pay up the 20% more for the next level. The cabinets are just that much better than the builders series and this comes from experience as I purchased both lines and wished that I had gotten 3 of 3 kitchens in the better line of cabinets rather than 1 of 3. The hinges, and doors are just better quality than the builders series. read more
