I didn't have to be home they would come and take care of it the next year. I heard something else in my attic they came with a drone found the whole immediately on the other side of the house and promptly fixed it. I couldn't be more thrilled at how quickly they responded to my small job versus the big jobs that they're used to getting. I had used Dom's once before and had a positive experience with Phil so I assumed the crew was just running late. But when I asked if they were on their way, a woman scoldingly told me I did not confirm so no one was coming. I told her I absolutely did confirm, and I had been waiting for hours, after changing my schedule. She said "no you did not confirm." I said I'm looking right at my email where I replied yes. She said in a nasty tone, "Well I'm looking at my system and it does not have a confirmation from you." I said "I don't care what your system says. I did confirm. I'm looking right at it." She repeated, very argumentative and condescending when she should've been apologizing: "I'm looking at my system and everyone else is confirmed but you're not." I said "Then your system is broken because I confirmed! Check your email. I confirmed." Now she yelled at me "Don't speak to me like I'm a child." Excuse me? SHE was the one scolding ME like a child, when she should've been APOLOGIZING for standing me up when I had a confirmed appointment! IN ADDITION: This whole business of "confirming" is ridiculous. I made the appointment, and I didn't cancel it. Even if their system somehow missed my confirmation (which is inexcusable) you don't CANCEL an appointment without contacting the customer. They have my cell number. They should've notified me that they were cancelling. Then I could've directed them to my confirmation email which they somehow missed. Also: Their email made it sound like confirmation was optional. It said: "Hello. This is a reminder that Phil will be with you on (date) between 2:30 & 3:30pm. Thanks, Dom's Landscaping. Reply yes to confirm or visit (website). Thank you." That email says Phil is coming! It does NOT say (but it SHOULD say): "If you don't confirm, we won't show up, and we won't even contact you to let you know we're standing you up." Since that is apparently their policy, they need to make that clear. But again, I CONFIRMED! I have proof. And I waited! And no one came. And when I called, I got scolded, even though it was THEIR FAULT. This is a terrible business.

Our 12 year old roof was leaking. Arnie first had one of his workers come over to check the roof…read moreout. That person gave me preliminary findings and showed me pictures of problem areas on the roof. Arnie came by another day to go over the requirements of what would be needed to install a new roof, his credentials and the guarantees offered. He then provided me an estimate that night. A few days later, his workers came, tore off the old roof, put new plywood throughout the whole roof, lined the roof and then shingled it. They had almost the whole roof done in a day, but did need a little time the next morning to finish up (which Arnie previously told me might happen). The workers were very professional, courteous, knowledgeable and worked hard. They left the property very clean. A few days after the new roof was installed, we had a few days of very heavy rain and the roof did great. I would highly recommend Arnie Blake for roofing. I would bet that his company's work in other areas are just as good.

I needed to get the hinges replaced on a noisy inside door of my house (the joys of being a new homeowner), and I got several responses from contractors across Yelp. Andrei's stood out both because it was the lowest price quote, and he had the best reviews of any other respondent. It seemed a little too good to be true, but I figured it was worth taking a chance. I'm glad I did, because Andrei IS too good to be true, and yet he exists. Excellent communication, punctual, thorough and completely self-sufficient, the hinge replacement process started off great. Then, after expertly replacing the hinges, and even sanding a bit at the base of the door where it caused the door to stick when opening and closing, he checked to see how the door opened and closed - the door was now blissfully quiet, but still stuck, and he identified the door latch and plate as needing to be adjusted. Above and beyond! The door works perfectly now, it's literally like a new door. And because the door was to my mother-in-law's bedroom, having Andrei provide this superlative service scored me a few points with her (well, at least for a few hours, until she found something else to grumble about). He also left the space clean, and was very courteous from start to finish.
