We have been having water issues in our basement for quite a while. Tropical Storm Ida was the last straw. We decided we needed to find a specialist for help. Where do I begin? I'm a first time home owner with my girlfriend in the garden city area. 2 weeks after closing on the house, we had the basement painted, while it was being painted there was a bubble coming out from behind the wall, we tried spackling it and it just wouldn't dry. Long story short, we found out we had mold behind the sheet rock wall, once we took down the entire side of that wall we learned we had 8-10 hairline cracks on my foundation of the house on the left side of the house. Being a first time home owner I didn't know what to do. After a few days of letting steam out because the home inspector didn't catch it or the previous owner didn't disclose this information to me I decided to call a water proofing company. I called about 4 local companies in the area. 1 came out and wanted to install a French drain. Wasn't crazy about the idea. Every company that came out wanted over 12k and only guaranteed their work for 7-10 years.. That's when I finally found and called this company. I dealt with Nick. He came over the same day about 5:30-6pm the day I called. He literally explained to me what was going on, talked me out of even considering a French drain, told me what he was going to do and this company offered a LIFE TIME GUARANTEE to back their work. Nick escavated the entire side of the house for me to seal off every single crack in my foundation ( 8-10 hair line cracks) and gave me a new slab on that side of the house pitched away from the foundation. Water is the root of all evil for your house. I couldn't be happier with Nick. Being pretty young for buying a house and having a guy like him in your corner to not screw you over or sell you a bag of BULLSHIT is huge! He was extremely fair with his pricing Not only did Nick provide this service for me... I also hired him to install a backyard exterior door for me and he made me a 3 step stoop to walk out of with blue stone.. again extremely affordable, reliable and knowledgeable. He really takes pride in his craft which is what you want. These days companies look to come in make a quick buck and jet out. Nick is one of last remaining mansonarys that doesn't look at you as a price tag. He wants to help and he wants you to be happy. He could sit with you and talk about the details of the job until he's blue in the face. He's awesome.. a local guy.. and a family business. Exceptional Work. When you need masonry repairs and / or waterproofing, N.A.D. is definitely the company to call. It's been almost 7 months since Nick and his team repaired and waterproofed the outside wall of our basement. We've had a number of rain storms and wet weather since our repair that previously would have resulted in water in our basement, however Nick's work has held up extremely well and our basement continues to remain totally dry. Prior to calling N.A.D., I spoke to a number of contractors who presented me with theories about why water was coming into our basement when it rained. When I called Nick, he came to our house, looked at our basement wall both from inside and outside the house, and confidently explained the cause of our problem to me. In addition, Nick further explained in detail the steps that would be needed to remedy the problem. We hired Nick and he and his men were at our house on the agreed upon date and promptly at the time he said they would be there. Nick and his guys worked diligently to complete the repair and, when finished, cleaned up the area where the excavation and repair work were done so it barely looked disturbed. Nick and his crew provided excellent masonary and waterproofing service. My Mom's house had a leak on the side of the house and this issue was resolved. The driveway near the side porch was cut and concrete was poured to change the pitch, new window wells were installed with covers and rocks on the bottom, and patched some holes around the house. read more

We had a leak in our basement causing a terrible mold smell. Our house is also really old, and the foundation is covered up by stucco, which made what might be a simple job a little more complicated. Nick carefully inspected until he found where the water was getting in, then he and his guys fixed the spot and sealed it back up at pretty much lightning speed. Nick is cordial and he is passionate about his work. His team was very respectful and on time in the mornings. Nick had installed a waterproofing membrane to stop leaks in my basement. He said that he guarantees and truly backs on his work. However, after contacting him that there were leaks again discovered in my basement after the job was done, he said he will show up to take a look. After postponing the appointment 2-3 times because he was preoccupied with other things, I tried calling him and he did not pick up his phone. He used to respond to text messages and did not respond either. Don't expect him to come by for doing small jobs after the big project is done. He overbooks himself so he loses track on who he needs to visit to get estimates. He lacks commitment in showing up when he says he will get there at a specific time. I would at least appreciate it even if he doesn't happen to show up on time or at all to at least follow-up with me on a phone call instead of having me call him for an explanation. It's quite disappointing how he has carried out his actions after the job's done. read more

Nick and his team literally saved our house! What started out as a waterproofing job quickly turned into a scary job when the corner of the foundation was found to be completely gone! Nick to the rescue and soon he had it all shored up and looking good as new. He and his team were professional and left the site cleaner than they found it. Price for all work, including cementing 4 spaces, was reasonable. Will actually miss seeing those guys around but happy with the work.
