It happened multiple times to me and when I called them out on it, the owner threw a tantrum and wanted to fight me. The first time was when I had my car towed over to the shop because the serpentine belt came off, instead of just replacing the belt, they also said I needed a new water pump, supercharger tensioner, belt tensioner, and upper radiator hose which ended up costing me $1100. 4 months later, the "new" water pump they replaced started leaking, so I brought it back to the shop because I had a 6 month warranty. They open up my hood and I'm watching them do this as one of the employees takes off a clamp to one of the hoses that connects to the radiator. He then pressurizes the coolant reservoir till the coolant shoots out of the pipe he took the clamp off of. This causes a commotion in the shop and I go to see what happened and instead of explaining, the owner starts shouting at me and telling me to get the fuck out of the shop. It was nice that I was able to schedule an appointment online over the weekend in the late evening and I promptly received a call back from Rich in the office, who is just wonderful! They are very honest and fair. They could have taken advantage of the situation being my car had to be towed there. We suspected the problem was much bigger than it was and they assured me that it was something minor and I didn't even have to pay a ton of money. It was very affordable. They are "woman" friendly and still take the time to explain everything to you in lay-person's terms to where you can understand. They do not dismiss you or talk to you like you're "just a woman"! They look over everything and assess your vehicle for any and all issues and breakdown what is priority as well as what is not priority to fix. They even take the time to explain proper maintenance items and at what intervals they are suggested to be performed. They take the time to ask you questions about all repairs you have had done so they can put it into their system and get to know your car's history. This helps to asses things as they come up and gives them a holistic full picture which helps for future accuracy in diagnostics. I have never seen (in my 52 years) any mechanic take the time to do this. It's exceptional! That also take time to break down the bill and itemization for you so that you know what you are paying for.
