My experience here was awful. The sales person did not tell me until after I purchased my sofa that there was a 40% percent restock fee. In addition the sales person told me after my transaction was complete that I had 5 business days to make a decision before this store policy took effect. After my sofa was delivered when I called 2 days later, the sales manager was never around and my return would not be accepted. The material of the sofa once delivered, (the store had no fabric sample) was cheap and tacky looking. I would not recommend anyone shop there. read more

Drove to Georgetown to buy some furniture from the nearby Design Within Reach but wound up buying a sofa and rug from BoConcept instead. Clean, modern design with a mid-century modern vibe and Northern European sensibility. Reasonable prices, great service. read more

We got very good help from Jose and Precious the manager and the goods were delivered a couple of weeks early by delivery people who called in advance and came on time with the sofas assembled. In searching for leather sofas we looked at many places in the area including the 14th Street area shops, Roche Bobois (lovely stuff/high price but too big for our DC house) but found the right size and style with important options for us (arm width for example) at Bo Concept which we stumbled across after going to DWR. Among the design shops in Georgetown Bo has some staying power. We have been customers for years and Bo's renewed commitment to customer service is a reason we'll keep coming back. We made the investment in a nice couch in 2013, and shortly after receiving it, one of the back panels cracked and a concave depression formed. We contacted Bo's prior DC store manager, and experienced a few months of run around. After about a year, we gave up. Fast forward to two months ago, when we met Bo's new staff and it's new manager/franchisee Tim Machenaud. We explained to Tim what happened, and even though the issue arose on someone else's watch, Tim took responsibility for it and helped us arrange the repair. Several weeks later, Bo's service team arrived at our house with the right parts and quickly switched out the damaged portion of the couch. The couch is now fixed and we could not be happier. It's this kind of service that will keep us coming back. Bo's designs are not cheap, you can buy knowing that they will stand behind their product. Nice stuff. Too bad the entire sales staff is too cold and distant. It seemed like they were looking through me and not acknowledging my presence. I did end up buying a clock, but even as I tried to pay, the saleswoman named Donia did everything to avoid making eye contact or saying more than "How are you paying?" I haven't felt more unwelcome in a store than I did today. They have some nice furniture, but it's unlikely that I'll come back. Just very rude. read more

5 stars go to the store manager Mr. Nils who has responded to our concerns & solved our problem. What started as a disappointing experience with BoConcept ended up being an excellent one thanks to Mr. Nils. We greatly appreciate his help! Long story short we were being misled by a sales associate at the store and ended up with a sofa that had become unusable in a few months. The sofa was a floor sample. However, we were told by the sales associate that it had been a floor sample only for a month. He convinced us that it was like a new sofa without any issues. After the sofa was delivered to our apt we discovered that the foam underneath the sitting surface was very unstable, and it was sagging. The sofa became very uncomfortable to sit on due to deformed foam underneath. When we contacted the sales associate, who sold us the sofa he discarded our complaints by saying that it was a floor sample. He then asked us to send pictures of the sofa. Although we sent him pictures, he didn't get back to us. I found him not helpful at all. Then I followed up with the manager Mr. Nils. He took his time to come to check the sofa and understood our concerns. Despite being a floor sample we paid a considerable amount to this couch (for the same price we could get a brand new one from Crate & Barrel) and it was so frustrating that it became unusable only in a couple of months. Anyways, Mr. Nils understood our concerns and offered to exchange our sofa. We received our new couch a week ago, and we couldn't be any happier. Although the new sofa and our previous one are same models, they feel entirely different. read more

Tim and his sales staff are terrific. A base on one of my dining room chairs broke, and they arranged for a replacement base, swapped out the base when it came in, showed me why it broke (a screw came out that led to undue pressure on the rest of the base), and gave me a tool to use to tighten if it ever happens again, all at no charge. They could not have been more responsive and helpful. The chairs themselves are beautiful and comfortable. I would buy them again in a heartbeat. The sofas and chairs in the store are amazingly comfortable. Pricey, yes, but you get what you pay for. read more

It is a shame this company cannot stand behind their products or their policy. This has been one of the WORST customer service experiences I have ever encountered. I bought a foam mattress several years ago, and I noticed a stain seeping through the protective cover coming from the inside. I unzipped the cover and saw something had been melting from the inside and hardened and stained. It was disgusting. They advertise a free 10 year warranty on their mattresses and so, I called up the store to get a replacement. I was told they would speak to customer service, however after a month of not hearing back, I recalled the store and was told they would try contacting customer service again. Of course, there was again, no response, so I called back and asked for the direct customer service phone number. I called the direct number, and some guy answered the phone like he was answering a personal call and said he was in the middle of driving and would call me back. As expected, I never heard back from him, so I had to call again only to reach his voicemail. So, as of now, this charade has been going on for 6 MONTHS!!! And, I still do not have my replacement mattress. BoConcept is a huge disappointment and after seeing reviews (look at the filtered reviews) I realize many other customers have experienced similar poor customer service. If only I had never stepped inside this store, I could have avoided this headache. I will never purchase a product of theirs again and have advised my friends never to look for furniture there as well. read more

I liked the furniture I bought from boconcept two years ago. Their urban chic style fits my condo nicely. A month ago, my foldable bed connecting point fell off. I visited store and was given the store manager's contact info. Honestly I didn't hold too much hope, but I did email the Tim about the situation with my foldable bed. To my surprise, he offered to come to fix it for me for free. Now my foldable bed is fixed and I am so happy. Very much impressed by the after sale service Tim provided. For that, this store becomes my go to place for next piece of furniture shopping!!! read more

Quick update. After many many months the part was replaced. This piece does not seem to suffer the same problem as the first.. Use the table all the time and it has not blistered. read more

The quality of the furniture is not that good when compared to the price. The couch I got from them is very uncomfortable and the coffee table is chipping and has scratches all over it. I take good care of my stuff; this stuff seems to be on the cheaper end. I would look elsewhere. read more

I have had a horrible experience with Bo Concept. I put in an order at the Georgetown, DC store for furniture in February 2012. After significant delays, my furniture was delivered in May 2012. I had ordered a queen bed frame that turned out to be a few inches wider than my good quality mattress which meant that you could see the slats from the frame every time you walked into the room. The store's response to this was that I must have a poor quality mattress and that there was nothing they could do. I also purchased a specialty unit to use as a dresser. The sales associate was aware that this is what I would use it for but for some reason there wasn't a back ordered for behind the drawers. I didn't know that it was an option to chose a back or not so I was quite surprised to get the unit and find out that everything fell out the back and got stuck behind the unit because the sales associate thought he was saving me money. After months of waiting for the back to arrive, I had the joy of paying for the mistake of the store and was not even given the nails to attach the back to the unit. Many emails and calls were exchanged and I had hoped for the option to return the furniture but I was giving no option to remedy the situation. So when the arm of the leather chair I purchased came out damaging the leather along the way, I didn't even bother contacting the store to complain about the quality. I had happily paid off the card with my furniture purchases and put the horrible experience behind me to receive a letter last week from Bo Concept. The letter informed me that the store had not charged the chair and ottoman to my credit card with the rest of the order and that they had recently charged them to my card. There was no note explaining the mistake or apologizing for the inconvenience of charging a customer for items ordered 10 months ago and delivered 7 months ago. When I called, I still did not receive an apology for the inconvenience, I was told that "I had the furniture so she didn't see why I was upset to pay for it even though it was 10 months later." I have a register receipt from the store showing that the chair was paid for and I want to make it clear that I in no way tried to avoid paying for part of my purchase. As a customer that paid way too much for poor quality furniture, I would expect a company to realize that customers have budgets and that it is an inconvenience for the company to make such a glaring mistake and then to be surprised when a customer calls to clarify and complain about the situation. At this point I am sure that customer satisfaction is not a priority at Bo Concept and I would suggest you look for new furniture at a more reputable company. read more

BoConcept has very high quality contemporary furniture at reasonable prices compared to many so called high end furniture stores in the Washington metropolitan area. The staff is very knowledgeable and actually direct you toward the best products that suit your needs and not the highest price items. They also truly stand by their products. I bought a Futuna chandelier and during installation my personal electrician dropped two of the eight glass pendants. I figured they would be impossible to replace and contacted the owner Tim by email to see if he could help locate replacements. To my surprise the owner emailed me back immediately and instructed me to come to the store to pick up two replacement pendants two days later. This is beyond customer service!! Tim and his team are exceptional. If you are looking for high end furniture with a knowledgeable staff, BoConcept's Georgetown location is the place. I've been going to this store for years and highly recommend their services and products. Tim, as the owner, you lead by example and I will be a return customer. Thank you for everything. read more
