I just came home from an absolutely wonderful experience at the spa. Wanting to slough off winter's assault on my skin, I booked a body scrub. I had some trepidation because this does put you in a rather vulnerable position, but I couldn't have been more pleased. The session began with a delightful eucalyptus scented steam room and then I met with Jacqueline in the body treatment room. The scrub was invigorating and I even mentioned that I'd never felt this relaxed being naked in front of a stranger! She scrubbed every inch of me and then I was rinsed from head to toe with a vichy shower. One word: AWESOME! After patting me dry I was slathered in moisturizer. My skin feels incredible. I've been going here for years with Christina she's always amazing. I found her with Groupon. But there's never anymore groupons so now it's pretty expensive. I love her but the feeling of the salon is so bitchy and unprofessional. I went to pay after giving Christina her tip and the receptionist was too busy on her phone to even notice I was there. She asked me three times if I was checking in or checking out. I don't understand how the owner is okay with having a receptionist like this when they are the main person who deals with most of the customers. Had a terrible experience here. I bought a Groupon for a conditioning treatment and cut. When I walked in, one of the receptionists was on a person call, which she did not end. Then, she took the same call again while she was checking me in. I was led back for the "conditioning treatment" which was only left in for less than 5 minutes. My hairdresser did not seem to care what I wanted. I repeatedly told her I wanted my hair short, but she kept insisting I keep it long and when I left it looked exactly the same as when I had come out. She also burnt my scalp with the blow dryer and yanked my hair with the brush. Overall, a horrible experience and I will not be back. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would. Upon entering Bocu Salon, my first impression upon seeing their facility was that I was in for a treat. It was within moments of entering the salon that I was received by an incredibly curt and rude receptionist. She had the attitude of "yeah, whaddayawant" as she glanced over at me and proceeded to continue her gossip with one of the hairdressers - while I stood at the counter listening to her conversation waiting for her to finally greet me. And when the receptionist finally turned to give me her attention, there was no smile, and certainly no greetings of welcome. It is clear from most of the reviews here on Yelp that there is a running consistency about Bocu Salon's lack of professionalism, and that if they wish to survive as a business they will take heed to right this wrong. Bocu Salon is overpriced, and after having the service for a color and a cut, I walked out of their front door feeling bocu-un-happy about the work they had done. The hairdresser made me feel as though everything was a rush job, and that precision was considered mediocre. Although she wasn't outright rude, she made no effort for any kind of pleasantries and I sat mostly silent while she went about her business. When finished, again I had to interact with the receptionist, this time to pay. She hardly glanced up as she quoted me the total. She rang me up, and that was that. No one asked if I was satisfied, or gave any kind of feedback of their own observation of a job well done, or even the tiniest hint of a compliment. There was no thanks for coming, no have a nice day, not even a see ya later. There was nothing that expressed that they were happy to have had one's business. I usually walk out of a salon exclaiming silently to myself how fabulous my hair looks, but this time didn't, thinking to myself that this was probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had with respect to this kind of service. Did I mention I'm addicted to Groupon? I was looking for a new salon to get my haircut. I of course visited Yelp and came across this salon. I then used to Groupon to see if they had a deal and Voila ($29 for wash, deep conditioning treatment, cut and blowdry...SWEET)! This salon is VERY large and spacious. It is also very nice inside. When I called for the appointment I was told to arrive 15 minutes early for the deep conditioning treatment. I was super excited about this because I looooove the head massage :) On the day of the appointment I arrive as instructed. One of the girls who washes hair sat me on a couch facing the sinks but told me that it would be a few minutes as Christina, my stylist, was with someone else. OK, no problem. 5 minutes goes by then another 5 until 15 minutes has passed. I was kinda annoyed because unlike others patrons around me, I was not offered any refreshments etc. Finally, a girl comes to get me for my hair. She does not intro herself and (sounds silly) but didn't tell me to have a seat, lean back. The only thing she said during the wash is "is the water ok". She wets my hair and then applies the shampoo, It was not gentle but kind of rough and there was NO Massage. I'm still patient thinking that I'm getting a deep conditioning treatment. After she rinsed the shampoo there was about a 30 second application of conditioner which didn't feel like it involved my scalp! WTF? I was disappointed about this but I'm not sure if this is how the salon does it (I certainly hope not). I moved on to the stylist, Christina. Amazingly friendly and she listened to what I wanted. I have long hair and for some reason ALL stylists I have been to want to chop it off! She reassured me that she loves long hair also and would keep it as long as possible, but healthy Before she began to cut she asked if the amount was ok. I proceeded to her ask her about Keratin treatments and she was very honest , informative and helpful. Aside for the lousy wash, everything else was great. read more

I got a groupon online for Bocu for cut, single process color and conditioning treatment. I was running 5 minutes late so I called to notify them. When I called, the women on the phone told me with an attitude that my appointment was 15 minutes ago and that she wasn't sure if she could accommodate me. I told her I had a different appointment time on my calendar and she said just to come and she would see if they could squeeze me in. I was uncomfortable to walk in based on the phone conversation, but once I got there no one made any mention of it. I was taken in by Sarah who was very friendly and accommodating. She spent time with me to find the right color and I was happy with the cut. When she finished blow drying my hair I noticed some dye on my face but I didn't want to make a scene of it. However, I should have because when I got to my parents house, I asked my mom to help me get the dye off my forehead. She then uncovered dye all over the back of my neck, side of my face and in my ear. Absolutely unacceptable for a salon of that caliber. I can not believe how I walked out of that salon. read more

I called prior to purchasing my groupon because I have long hair and wanted to make sure they would touch up all the color not just the roots, i was told it would be an extra $25, fine. I went on a tuesday and there was about 6 customers and 2 stylists. The first thing I noticed was, the manager I assume, at the front desk (about 50 years old woman) verbally assaulting and humiliating the 18 year old appointment book girl. I was honestly mortified for her nobody deserves to be talked to like that, and later in the visit I noticed an ambulance outside and was told the manager was having heart problems (I can only assume from what I witnessed earlier). Besides that awkward uncomfortable scenario i was seated in a chair where I explained the color thing again how I wanted to make sure my hair was evenly coated and was paying extra. Needles to say my hair was spotty see attached pic. Myra hair washing girl was very very nice great attitude and tried hard to was the color off my forehead (as mentioned in other reviews) I also made eye contact with the other blonde hair washer with the nasty attitude about 40 times and she never said hello. Felt like pampering myself so me and my cousin came here and got massages and facials one saturday. This place is HUGE...it has a separate area for the spa treatments off to the side. Its very nice and tranquil. When I called to make the appointments the woman on the phone was extremely nice and helpful. We sat in the aromatherapy steam room for about 10 minutes or so then we both took turns with facials and massages. I was very happy with both treatments, my massage therapist was very knowledgeable and I LOVED the massage. I would definitely go back to her. As far as the facial, the girl said she had 20 years experience which was great to know, and I loved that she didn't sit there trying to up sell me on products or talk the whole time, I just got to sit back and relax, and ask questions if I needed or wanted too. I wanted to adopt both of them and bring them home with me forever... I can't speak for the hair salon, but I will be returning for the spa. It's great to go with a friend for a day of beauty. I was a fan of this place because of my first interaction and appointment. Ariana did a fantastic job cutting my hair (unfriendly but good at her job). However I have had two subsequent appointments with Ariana and my haircuts were subpar to say the least. It didn't even look like she cut my hair at all after she was done. Not only did I have to find another salon three weeks after my appointment with her, I found her to be extremely unfriendly. I will not be visiting again. In go to this salon to get my nails done and that is it. I go because I have gone to the same woman for 25 years and she landed there. I only go because of her. I have never gone to a salon where the people behind the counter and the owners (especially Margherita) are so snobby. They do not care about you. Only making money. Tonight the owner decided that she wanted to close at 8:00 because the spa was empty. I was told that she did not want to pay the staff an extra hour to hang around until 9:00. I had scheduled a pedicure and manicure for tonight. I could only get one done because there was not enough time and have to go back tomorrow to get my manicure. Dawn did not care. She told me that the woman I go to is NOT an employee but an independent. Basically she and I did not count. I went once into the Spa which Margherita runs. She was so nasty to me because there was a mix up with my appointment ( their fault) that I walked out. If you want a relaxing experience find another spa. Not only does she do a terrible job applying makeup, she made my skin look terrible ( when i have great skin to begin with) and she has no warmth or personality to her. Yes, it's true we were 10 minutes late for a 9:00 am appointment, but that was no reason for two stylists to scream at the group for being late. It was supposed to be the happiest day of our brides life, and we were being reprimanded like children before we even had coffee! It was disgraceful. Too boot, the hair ranged in price from $85-$100. Paid the $29.50 groupon rate and wanted at least an inch off my layered cut. They stylist was nice enough but only seemed interested in cutting my bangs. The shampoo girl put a very heavy conditioner in my fine hair leaving it limp which the stylist herself informed me of. 2 washings later and I still cannot discern that I have had anything buy my bangs cut. Why don't stylists want to cut more than ¼ inch off. It is so you will come back sooner? Now I have to get my hair cut somewhere else ASAP. Will never go here again! read more

I have been in and out of this salon for almost 30 years. I recently went back after a few years to try for single processes I needed every month. First colorist did my hair way too dark. I tried someone else, went a few times. I had an unfortunate situation at home and pulled in parking lot five minutes late. I got the call from front desk while pulling in asking where I was. I panicked walking in, just given a robe and walked myself over to colorist. At this point I was 8 minutes late. She would not look up at me from her phone while I apologized profusely. I offered to not do my glaze, blowout, anything as I am aware how someone being late could push back a schedule. I must have apologized more than five times while there. I won't mention the last time I was there how I kindly waited while she ran late. Just coldness and attitude. I knew I would not be coming back. It is not okay to show up late, but one time, things happen and when someone is apologizing, the attitude is not necessary. For that, I won't be returning. If you want to be spoken to like a child and put on the spot in front of a family members bridal party and be forced to pay over 200 for a couple of curls on top of your hair that you already did then go there... when you did your hair already because you where supposed to be taken out of the "bridal package" by the bride who you didn't want to stress out then go there.Also spent 250 on a flower girl updo.The girl who did my hair was a sweetheart and apologized.She put a couple of curls in she couldn't do much because I already did my hair!I was told by the bride don't worry about getting my hair done and should have taken care of it but I walked in and they call my name I tell them I was supposed to be taken out..apparently I wasn't and put on the spot.500 dollars later.I worked in this business for years,have done bridal work and would never treat customers like that.The whole speech about getting a girl in here early,well I was one of those girls working and accommodating client and time is money but good customer service always came first.Also if you want to charge an arm and leg for a bridal package at least make sure the Brides hair and half the bridal parties curls stay in! read more
