    Mediterranea salad ($22)
    Scott J.

It was very slow for lunch on a weekday. In fact, I was the only customer during the hour I was there. I intentionally ordered a few items that were mild, but I should have ordered differently, as my choices were a bit boring. The Mediterranea salad ($22) looked good on the menu, but it was pedestrian, nothing special, and way overpriced for what I received. It would have been worth it for $12. I also ordered the albondigas (meatballs in tomato sauce for $9). Nothing special. They were meatballs in tomato sauce. Next time, I will order some of the other more interesting tapas including chorizo al vino, croquetas, patatas bravas, and tortilla espanol. I will give it another chance and make better decisions regarding what I order next time. I generally love Spanish tapas and this place has potential.

This area of Naples starts to become more and more unique and fun. It's already 2 or 3 times we come and the restaurants are really different and excellent. Bodega Olé is a little Latino gem with a very romantic terrace at night. We came and were welcomed by the excellent host, very elegant. She gave us a good little table and the waitress from Argentina immediately offered us some champagne because it was my birthday few days ago! It was a nice surprise and generous gesture for our first time at the restaurant. The night we came they had a guitar band and it was excellent, not too loud, but very very entertaining. The service was fast! We ordered 6 or 7 tapas and it was on time. The tapas were delicious and again, generous. We ordered patatas bravas, Iberico ham, Sangre de toro, Grilled octopus and more. Everything was good, amazing experience. The place was full, not a surprise. They have also a large wine menu with a good selection. We loved the place. The owner is also very friendly and you feel he is caring of the customers, deeply. We will come back and recommend it to anyone!!!

    Cutting whole pig

We discovered this hidden gem when we were searching for Spanish food since we love to visit the ironbound section of Newark and loved restaurants there. Last night we made a reservation to celebrate my wife's daughters birthday. We ordered a hole pig which is cooked for 6 hours and brought to the table for carving. All we can say is simply amazing. The pig was super good, crisp skin and super flavorful. Highly recommended but you need to call in advance. We also order the seafood paella which we split for the table. Again simply amazing. While we waited fir the food we had assorted appetizers, octopus, crocettas etc. again simply amazing. We brought our own wine but their wine list is fabulous and very reasonable price. John and nick our servers were amazing and this is a must visit place.

Patasta Bravas. Nice munchie and $5 during happy hour

Happy hour is from 4-7 and is a great place to go for drinks and tapas. SERVICE: Excellent. Randolf was our bartender and was welcoming and attentive. Wine pours were generous and our water glasses were refreshed. FOOD: The olive app had tons of olives and served with slices of warm bread. The Patasta Bravas were puffy square potatoes served with aioli sauce that was flavorful. The croquets are not something I would get again. They are presented beautifully but a couple bites had gristle which were a turn off. The Paella takes about 30-40 minutes to make, so plan ahead in your ordering. We got the Paella de Teirra. The rice was very flavorful and the sausage was fantastic. The beef and chicken were a bit dry. 2 of us split this dish and it was plenty as we also had the apps. BAR: We love sitting at the bar. Plenty of seat and distance at 6pm on a Wednesday evening. There was live music which was a nice volume where we could still have a conversation without shouting. ATMOSPHERE: Pleasant and decorated nicely with warm lights and candles.

I came here for happy hour on a Tuesday with three others to try out their $5 tapas deals. Boy was I excited to see all the options! We were seated quickly and our server came over quickly. She was helpful with her recommendations and friendly. The sangria was delicious, I'd recommend the red. From a tapas standpoint, I loved the drunk figs as well as the mushrooms. Overall it was delicious. I'd recommend a stop in, especially for the Tuesday specials where it us more reasonably priced.

I have been to Bodega Ole twice now and it was excellent both times. It's in a strip mall in an up and coming area of town near the Naples Design District. The inside dining area is beautiful, but so far we've only dined outside which is also nice with umbrellas and not too much street noise. The menu is a refreshing change from the same-old same-old that most restaurants offer in this town. Having just returned from a trip to Spain, I can attest to the authenticity of the dishes and the quality of the ingredients. On both of our visits, the service was outstanding, and I'd even venture to say it was entertaining as we engaged in lively conversation with our servers. Of everything we've ordered our favorites were: - grilled octopus with roasted potatoes - sautéed mushrooms - whole sea bass - roasted asparagus - figs with goat cheese - roasted shishito peppers Also good were: - paella - gazpacho - patatas bravas - thin sliced octopus (served cold) Prices are on par with other quality restaurants in the area, which is to say not cheap, but also not over the top. Highly recommend!

My daughter and I stopped by the bar for drinks and tapas. The bartender (Nick, I think), makes a terrific sangria rojo. We ended up ordering Drunken Figs, Chorizo al Vino, Pulpo, Morcilla and Crème Catalan. Everything was delicious, but I especially enjoyed the morcilla. I regret not getting a photo of it, but we tucked into it as soon as it hit the bar. I'm already thinking about my next visit to Bodega Ole. I'm looking forward to sitting down for another full meal, not just tapas.

We made reservations on Open Table, and I wanted to ensure I got my points. The computer is down.......sorry. They let us to a high top table. I do not want a high top. Took many minutes to decide which table to seat us at. We were there when they opened at 4pm and were the ONLY customers in the restaurant. When we left at 5:45pm we were STILL the only customers in the restaurant. Finally they seated us at a table. The absolute most uncomfortable chairs in the history of dining. Chairs with wooden bottoms. They explained that there was a concert this evening, and the place was booked full. OK. why not explain that on the web-site, so we could come another night. Or better yet, don't accept reservations for that evening. The noise level was horrible. Everyone of the staff scurrying around, moving tables, and chairs, setting up the speakers. Yelling, yelling, yelling, yelling. Could not hear myself think. Then, one of the owners opens a cabinet, and around 50 glasses come tumbling out, crashing to the floor and breaking. OK accidents happen. Then the performer arrived. Sorry, I do not know who he is, but the entire staff did and were very excited. They dropped everything and started taking photos with him. Then, they had to spend another 15 minutes showing each other the photos. This whole time, we are still the only customers, and we were totally ignored. The web site says happy hour is 4-6PM. The waitress tells us because of the party the happy hour is only lunch. Then, she asks a manager, and they bring a happy hour menu. We order from the regular and the happy hour menu. The one good note is that the cod fritters and the ham croquettes were excellent. The paella was soupy (I understand some folks enjoy it that way. I like mine with crispy rice) The waitress was very nice. She said she was sorry about all the confusion. We finally flagged her down and asked for the bill. She did, in fact, give us happy hour pricing. But, sorry, that does not make up for the evening. We left thinking that we would come back another day and give it a try. But, the next morning we woke up saying it was a horrible experience, and it is just not worth it. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g34230-d33076380-r1056307800-Taberna_Ole-Fort_Myers_Florida.html#

We were more than willing to wait. We decided on an appetizer, the Iberico Ham Croquettes. They were very lightly beaded and very crispy. We each had a glass of their white sangria. It was very refreshing. The paella came out and the aroma was heavenly!! It was the best paella I have ever eaten! The clams were so succulent and tasty. I could have eaten several dozen. All the seafood was cooked to perfection! We could not have asked for a better meal! I can't recommend Taberna Ole enough! A hit from start to finish.

There isn't a day since then that I don't think about that evening and the great dinner we all had. It was our fourth and last dinner together, we had not been thrilled by any restaurant in the area and I decided to search for 5 star Spanish restaurants in honor of Spain win. Well it did not disappoint. In fact it exceeded all our expectations! The ambiance is striking as you walk in, it throws you off with paintings all over and tables arranged with different style chairs, some with booths and in general old style. I must say it could have been the worst evening. The hostess/waitress/daughter of the owner, Sophia offered to sit us at a mixed table (chairs/booth) . Tables had to be moved and arranged, and the setup was not working out due to multiple issues, sitting between tables and 2 booth chairs, sunlight couldn't be blocked and was bothering one side of the table, and the group was a bit uptight after a negative experience the previous day. So I spoke up and said out loud that the seating wasn't working out. We must have been making somewhat of a scene and the owner/chef, John, came out to check on us, and calm the waters. We were kindly accommodated at a different table right in the middle of the restaurant. There was only one other couple in the restaurant and as soon as they left, the restaurant was all for us! I can't say enough about the food! We started with a few tapas, we shared a paella and others ordered their own entree. Everything was so amazing that we all ended up trying everybody's food. The food had this special taste....basque/french touch from the owners culinary origins. Sophia and John, served us like kings , and handled the situation at the beginning with flying colors. Super friendly, housewarming, and professional. Do not leave before you try the Basque torta. It's like a basque cheesecake. I dream about it every day. Take another piece to go, or you will regret it like we did, when we couldn't go back for more!

We ordered the paella for four with skirt steak, white asparagus, and saffron rice. The portion size was unbelievable. Not only did it feed us dinner that night, but I enjoyed the leftovers for six meals afterward. The saffron rice was rich and flavorful, the skirt steak was tender, and the white asparagus added a nice touch that made the dish feel special. For dessert, we brought home the Basque cheesecake with fig sauce. It was creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of sweetness from the fig sauce. Many people rave about the cheesecake, and after trying it myself, I understand why. It was absolutely delicious. We also picked up a bottle of red and a bottle of white wine for $25 each. Both wines paired beautifully with the food and made our takeout dinner feel a little more special. What impressed me most was how well everything traveled. The food tasted as good at home as it would have in a restaurant, and the generous portions meant we enjoyed El Basque for days. Great food, great value, and a meal that kept on giving. We'll definitely be back.
