Didn't realize that this is a club after hours until we walked in and saw that big bar on the way in. We have stepped in for a quick casual lunch and this was perfect. We had great service and the sever was really attentive. My husband had a Cuban sandwich which he really loved and i ordered the pan con bisteak and it was great. If there is one place I want to go back to on our next visit to Cape Coral, it's Chuchi's! What started as a random choice for lunch on our visit quickly turned into my favorite meal. It is easy to drive by during the daytime as it's sandwiched in between a few other businesses and the parking lot is small, but it wasn't very busy at lunch time when we visited. Our server was extremely nice and worked with us to make some good choices as many of our party hadn't heard of some of the dishes. I knew as soon as saw the menu though that I was ordering the Ropa Vieja. A friend of mine has always made some of the best Ropa Vieja I have ever had but this I think topped it. This shredded beef dish that's been cooked in tomato sauce and spices had me wanting to come back for dinner for more!! Wow it was so good...tender and juicy beef almost melted in your mouth it was so tender, and packed with flavor on top of it. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone visiting! It came with two sides as well and I opted for the rice and beans and plantains, both of which were delicious as well! My girlfriend opted for some empanadas which she said were very good, and other members of our party went with the Cubano sandwich and chicken sandwich, both of which said were good and filling! My good friend nickname is Chuchi so we try it and what a lovely surprise, fresh food and excellent service.

Food was exceptional there and waiting staff were kind. I wouldn't mind eating every week.

I stopped by here earlier today for dinner. My family and I had arrived in Cape Coral earlier in the day and a quick search on nearby dinner places brought up Chuchis. After a quick look at the menu we decided to place an order online. Our order consisted of a huevos estrellados a La Habanera with a side of fried green plantains while my wife went with a seafood paella, my in-laws a paella and a fried rice with shrimps and my kids a pechuga de pollo a la Planch. After placing it I was given a timeline of between 25-45 minutes and it was ready in about 30 minutes. Since it was a takeout order, I can't say too much about the restaurant itself except that I picked up the order in the bar area and everyone there was nice. Once we got it back to our house we opened it up and everything looked good. I ended up enjoying my meal quite a bit. The eggs were still runny and I added those to the ground beef and rice for some richness. Then the beef itself had a nice sauce on it which tasted slightly sweet and worked well with the rice. Last for me was the plantains which I also enjoyed as they had a nice and crispy exterior with a little bit softer interior. I did wish that they had been seasoned a bit better as I ended up using a verde sauce on them. Everyone else in our family enjoyed their meals as well and i even tasted my kids grilled chicken and thought it was simple but moist and very well done. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I enjoyed my meal and thought it was something a little bit different for me. read more

Wow what a hidden gem! Me and my family were in town for work and just sort of randomly picked this place for lunch and I'm so glad we did! The staff were so friendly and we felt very welcome. Although English was not their first language, the staff was kind and tried their best to help us choose menu items! I ended up getting two empanadas and they were delicious. They had a ton of flavor and were fried perfectly with a delicious crunchy exterior. The sauce to dip them in tasted fresh and complemented the empanadas perfectly. I honestly could have ate more than two but I didn't know how big they'd be. They have an option to get three empanadas on the menu and I'd suggest doing that! 3 things about this place: 1. Decided it was time to try a different spot for Cuban food in Cape Coral and found this place not too long ago and decided to give it a try. The place might be easy to miss if you don't pay attention. 2. Churrasco, Ropa Vieja (shredded beef), and Masa Frita (fried pork chunks) were ordered. Churrasco lacked in flavor and figured the meal would come with the sauce like chimichurri, but no sauce. Ropa Vieja was tender and full of flavor so I definitely recommend this item. The pork chunks were so tender that it melted in my mouth. One of the most tender pork chunks I've had. 3. Rice and beans were okay but I have had better ones and the beans were a little salty for my taste. Fried yucas were fantastic but I wish they had different sauces instead of just one sauce. Overall, this place is good and I would come back to try different items on the menu. Definitely recommend the fried pork chunks. read more

This place had a nice ambiance, the food was delicious, the staff were friendly and attentive. I had the steak and onions with white rice, black beans and sweet plantains. It was a delicious entree with the beans well seasoned, the rice was really good and the plantains were sweet and tender. I'll definitely be coming back to try other dishes. read more

My friend had told me about this place and when I first walked in, I thought this is very plain and almost looks like a cafeteria, but I tell you it was fantastic. Chuchi's is really the only place we go to for delicious Cuban food. The prices are great considering everything is super expensive and the flavors are amazing! My go-to is pechuga de pollo a la plancha (pounded grilled chicken breast with onions) and yucca fries. My husband loves the churasco (skirt steak). We are always amazed as to why this place isn't crowded when we go. It really is a hidden gem and we love Chuchi's. As a Puerto Rican we know flavor and there's no shortage of flavor here. The servers are so attentive and really are tops! The ambiance is nice with music that's super chill and I love the garden wall. If you're looking for a new Cuban restaurant, give them a try! read more

I came to visit southwest Florida expecting to find great Cuban food. Chuchi's did not disappoint. We got lechon asado (roast pork) and churrasco (grilled steak). Our sides were black beans and rice and sweet plantains. Everything was perfect! The steak was perfectly cooked and flavorful. The pork was succulent. While black beans and rice may not be exotic, their preparation made for a tantalizing flavor and texture. Finally, the plantains were tender with just the right amount of sweetness. Service was attentive and very personal. Prices are very modest. Overall, Chuchi's is a slam dunk! I suspect we'll be back before heading home. My meals here are likely going to be my favorite of the trip. read more

So, so good! We ordered the Ropa Vieja, which comes with white rice-it had the perfect amount of peppers in it. We also ordered lechon asado (pork), which comes with two sides. We opted for papas fritas (French fries), and yuca frita (fried yuca, which is like potatoes, kind of). It all tasted as close to traditional as it gets! Even the toddlers liked the French fries, lechon, and yucas fritas! I'll let the pictures do the talking for this one, but we will definitely be eating from here again, soon! Nice Cuban spot in Cape Coral with plenty of seating. They have a few dishes that really stand out and they always give huge portions. There are a lot of Cuban spots in the area and this one is definitely worth checking out. Favorites: Tostones - One of my go-to items from here. These are always perfectly done. Crispy on the outside and nice and soft on the inside. Lechon Asado - Once again huge portion. A bit on the oily/fatty side but it made it all that more delicious. Served with sautéed onions that also were done nicely. Simple but great dish that hit the spot. Masa Frita - Absolutely delicious. Huge pork chunks that are extremely tender and juicy. Simple and classic dish. Nice crispy outside. Other Recommendations: Ropa Vieja - This dish is a big portion with a bunch of meat, but the beef usually comes on the chewier side. Sauce is quality with a good mix of pepper, onion and garlic. Cuban Sandwich - Massive sandwich with plenty of meat. The lechon is tender and moist and the spiced ham was tasty. The only downside here is the bread they use - I don't think they put enough fat on the outside or press it right, so the bread wasn't crunchy. Trio Empanadas - Comes with one beef, one chicken and a spinach empanada. They aren't as big as I was expecting but the beef and chicken ones were good. My spinach empanada was empty so not sure what happened. read more

Today's paella was absolutely the best paella I have had on America shores. It was not paella Valencia but the flavor and seafood ingredients were all there. The other day I noticed that the crappy pizza place that I used to drive by had a new sign and was therefore a new place. My eye sight is not great but it took me three drive bys before I figured out that the place was not called Church's. We have been wanting tapas. With Mix and Time To Eat both gone we figured we'd have to go to Miami to get some. I was pleased when I yelped Chichi's and saw what they do. I was actually on my way to meet my friend at Nice Guys when I drove by and had the inspiration to change the plan. I called her and was able to redirect her here. The front door is located on the North side. I parked in the parking lot to the South. No big deal except for the tropical storm. On a typical Florina day they have outside seating. The current menu lists 13 tapas tending in probe from $2-$2.5. We ordered one of each. For some reason this was startling to our server. She questioned if we understood what tapas were. (I questioned to myself if she did). We assured her that we understood. We heard her laughing as she relayed our order to the chef. There was also a check in special for a free appetizer. After checking to make sure there were no tapas with iberico ham in them were ordered that on toast. The Iberico came out first, served with a tomato dipping sauce Next came a plate of plantain cups with assorted fillings. My favorite was the potato salad. My friend liked the avocado shrimp combo. Our next plate was 3 toast points with salmon, chorizo and ham respectively. Followed by two more, this with a potato frittata. And more Iberico. Then, three more, this time, octopus and cod filet. One difference on the final batch was instead of toast, they substituted slices of potato Overall, I enjoyed my meal. We cut each one in half so by the time we were done we had each eaten our fill. We left sated and would likely come again to try the rest of the menu. Upon receiving the check they had charged me for the appetizer (even though when I ordered I showed her the check in special). She went into the kitchen and the boss told her that it was not a legit offer. She honored it anyway but you might want to exercise caution before expecting the special that is advertised. read more

Just got back from eating at Chuchi's. I had the churrasco, my wife had the chicken cordon bleu and the other couple that was with us had the ropa vieja and the pork dish. Went here for a work lunch. We were the only people there - 5 of us. Staff was helpful and friendly. Pictured below is the steak sandwich a fried egg on it. Shredded beef and fried yucca and sweet potato chips. All of it was very good! They have Jarritos to drink also. The meal prices were in the $8 range for lunch. Priced right for the quality and amount. I could only eat 1/2 my sandwich. It was huge. They have a lot of items to try at this Cuban restaurant. I will be back and recommend it to all. Extremely weird experience in here. We live right behind here and wanted to try this place, as the menu looks great. We didn't have a friendly experience to say the least. 1) the door was locked even though the door says they open at 8 am, and we arrived after 1 pm.. 2) the women was reluctant to open the door. 3) the women who gave us menus was SO RUDE to the point where we were so uncomfortable that we left. The way she forced the menus in our hands and didn't give us a single second to sit down and get settled, no good morning, no how are you, just incredibly rude. We all work in restaurants and get excited for our first table of the day... it was very strange how it seemed as though we were annoying this woman when they had been open for several hours, so it's not like we were interrupting her opening. We felt so awkward that we will never return and never get to try the food that looks so good. Please don't treat your people like they're bothering you when they want to tip you and also just because we are Caucasian does not mean you are don't understand Spanish. We heard everything you said! (To the young girl with glasses, who's name we did not get because she was so rude and did not even say her name) We will spread the word. This is a very good "Spanish" style restaurant. The tapas were perfectly sized for mini appetizers. We tried almost everything on the menu. No complaints. The atmosphere is modern and not extravagant. The serving staff were very pleasant and accommodating, understand English and Spanish. I can't give this restaurant a better recommendation.
