I am going to miss this place! Now if you're reading this review and don't know who I am and/or haven't seen my previous reviews for Bodega then you might be wondering, "what is he talking about?" Let me clarify. Bodega isn't going anywhere, I am. And as I begin the moving process I have created a mental list of places I will miss in the Augusta area. And trust me, I know all the places. Fancy, hole-in-the-wall, no online presence, hyper online presence. I know all about them. And Bodega has consistently been a go-to spot for me over the years. Typically it is a Sunday morning/early afternoon, with a cup of coffee, and about half the time a soft shelled crab sandwich. Every other time, I throw caution to the wind. Could be a biscuit. Could be a pulled pork sandwich or The Lox. Who knows. But here's what I do know. The service, ambiance, and quality of what I order is always always at a level of excellence. And where else can you interact with the furry team member (Ash) as part of the experience? Such a relaxing spot, with the ceiling fans cooling you off (and the table fans keeping flies at bay) and the fountain trickling in the background. Please, if you are in the area be sure to go by and make up for my absence!

The vibes were amazing! I wish I got his name, but one of them makes the absolute best lattes ever!! The food was great! I will definitely become a regular here.

This is a nice place for lunch. It has a very nice outside patio area and get busy quickly. The best part is the fact that they are dog friendly !! We like our girl to be with us and this was a nice spot for lunch and our Maggie girl got to enjoy also. We had the grouper sandwich is tasty with a flavorful sauce. The Cuban was perfect , with Cuban bread the way it is intended. Lots of ham and turkey, cheese, and a tangy mustard with pickle. Potato salad was served as the side and it was a delicious surprise - sweet potatoes along with small red - a yummy difference. An added bonus - all pups are brought a bowl of water

Bodega Ultima located on Highland Ave Augusta, GA It's been four (4) years since my last review of this establishment. Food: We had the Pat's Chicken Sandwich and Trashcan Wrap (chicken) both with fries. Both dishes came with a house sauce that I didn't think compliment the meals nevertheless the Pat's chicken sandwich was delicious, The Trashcan wrap was good however probably wouldn't get it again. Service: Our waitress was really friendly and attentive. Ambiance: I simply love the raw brick decor and covered patio seating.

Been a while since I've been to Bodega Ultima. Their hours are usually until 2:30 on weekdays and 3pm on weekend. It's a cute place with indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely dog friendly for patio seating. Lots of good food options. I went with the chicken sandwich that was juicy and flavorful. Will plan to come back foe more brunches.

Cool pub and restaurant. Turkey Reuben and burger were both good! Also the Trashcan sandwich was awesome!

When we pulled up for breakfast on a weekend at about 9 a.m., and the parking lot was empty, that should have told us all we needed to know. The food here was horrendous. Our table had 2 chicken biscuits, scrambled eggs, grits, yogurt with "homemade" granola, bacon, and a bagel. The bagel and bacon were the only things that were good. The eggs were not only burnt, but they tasted like someone accidentally spilled the salt shaker in them, I sent them back and didn't wish for new ones. The chicken was dry and tough as a rock, and the grits were average at best. I'm not sure how on earth this place has any good ratings. Our server was wonderful.

My croissant was so good! It wasn't quite enough for a full meal, so I recommend getting a side as well. The staff were very kind and accommodating for our large group. And they have a dog that wanders around!

On the road again and made the stop for breakfast on the go. This time around was different. The food continues to be fantastic. Today the wait staff was not good. To be honest they all had RBF (Google it), they did not want to be there. It was busy but there were more staff standing around and doing nothing then serving. If we had to rate the staff it be a 1, if that. This feedback is raw to hopefully provide management help for training. PS- what coffee/restaurant runs out of sugar? They had NO sugar at all. Purchasing may need some help, with the Masters in a few weeks one would think they want to be well stocked.

Came here for breakfast with my family a week or so ago! It was great. We loved our food. My favorite thing was surprisingly the coffee. I had a hazelnut latte and it was delicious!! Can't wait to go back.

I hadn't been here since my last visit to Augusta in 2019. Decided to grab brunch here after a run at the brewery down the road. The outside space is now full of tables and has a tent over it -- I'm sure that's a holdover from Covid but it is nice to have more seating outside. Even though it was hot out the temperature under the awnings was not bad. Pet friendly patio, so getting my dog fix is always fun, too. There was a roaming dog out on the patio, not sure if it was a staff member's, but if I had my dog on a leash out there I would feel uncomfortable with a dog being able to freely walk up in my dog's space with no human to stop it. Very friendly dog, but even still that is not respectful of other dogs' space. I got a mimosa, which was good as it was not just pure orange juice. But I really do hate when people charge you close to $10 for a champagne flute. Their bottomless option is absolutely ridiculous, though - I think you had to have at least 5 or 6 to even get your money's worth. Definitely the worst bottomless drink special I've seen in Georgia or anywhere else. We started with the hummus, which was incredible. It was light and delicious. They didn't proportion out the pita super well with it, but we made it work. Either way, the food is fantastic. I came here specifically because I wanted a healthy breakfast after eating a bunch of military food all week... but it's hard to resist a fried chicken breakfast sandwich lol. Our server was phenomenal, she suggested adding an egg to it... so I got some nutrition on my otherwise not exceedingly healthy sandwich. But it was delicious as expected. My co-worker got the fried chicken lunch sandwich option, which was also good. He was not impressed with the potato salad.

Sitting along busy Central Avenue, it's actually pretty easy to pass right by if you aren't looking for it. From the outside, it looks like what it is -- an old Augusta bungalow that found a second life as a neighborhood coffeehouse. Walk inside, though, and something happens. Everything slows down. The rooms are small. The furniture doesn't necessarily match. The chairs look like thousands of people have already found their favorite position in them. There's a porch, little tables tucked into different spaces, and none of it feels staged or designed to manufacture some trendy "coffeehouse aesthetic." In fact, I noticed something while sitting here: I don't see electrical outlets conveniently positioned at every table. I don't see a sea of laptops. Instead, I hear locals talking about doctor appointments, seeing the grandkids this weekend, and how ridiculously hot Augusta has been. People are simply here. I came in expecting to grab a coffee and leave. I have places to go and things to do today. But I sat down. Then I started looking around. Then I realized I didn't really want to leave. At some point they had probably been calling my drink for several minutes and I hadn't even noticed. And then I ordered a second coffee. That might be the best review I can give Buona Caffe. The coffee itself is absolutely on point. The staff knows what they're serving, makes thoughtful recommendations and genuinely seems to care about getting it right. But what makes this place special is everything surrounding the cup. It almost feels like they don't completely realize what they have here -- or maybe they do and simply have no desire to make it anything more than what it already is. As this part of Augusta continues to grow, with new homes and businesses coming into the area, I hope places like Buona Caffe remain exactly as they are. Sometimes you need a place between where you've been and wherever you have to go next. Somewhere neutral where you can sit down, let a little time pass, decompress and breathe before heading back out onto Central Avenue. Buona Caffe is that place.
