Jeff installed some closet doors in 3 of my bedrooms. When I bought the house originally there were none. Jeff showed me how the walls in my house where the doors were to be installed were slightly bowed and not level or square. It was a very tricky job to make things look right. He was able to tweak things to make the doors close flush and level with the walls despite the difficulty. I am very happy with the quality of workmanship and my wife loves our new closet doors. Jeff is a very detail oriented guy. He did a great job, the price was fair, and he was done in a reasonable amount of time. He was onsite everyday until the job was done and he was pickier about the quality of the finished product than even I was. I have had my fair share of experience with contractors and what makes Bodhi Tree Construction stand out in my mind besides the high quality of work, is that Jeff actually answers his phone 9 times out of 10 and when he doesn't answer, he calls back very promptly. The same was true of email and text communication. He is a great communicator. When he took our deposit he didn't disappear for weeks. He got to work, got it done, and kept me updated on progress. Another thing I have to add is that he's just a really nice guy. Very personable. He even helped me out as a favor with a few things that he really shouldn't have since they were outside of the scope of the paying job. He also gave me some advice that really made me feel much better about a roof issue I was having. Jeff Gomes did an outstanding job completing an entire home remodel project for us.  He was consistent, reliable, and honest.  I've not had many good experience with contractors in the past and most people don't either.  I'm happy to say my experience with him was the opposite and very enjoyable.  He was very careful in explaining all steps as we went through our multi-month project with him and he was flexible within reason to our change requests as the project went on.   I think the key to his success is the strong relationship he built with us as a client, as well as his relationship with the subs he works with.  All of them do quality work and he does NOT cut corners.  Everything is to spec and code.  It has been over a year now and there have been no major incidents after the fact.  Any minor issues that have come up, he has worked with us to resolve which is great as he sees the whole process from start to finish, even after the last payment has been received.   If you pick Jeff, you can trust him and know you're going to get quality work.  If you're looking to cut corners or nickel and dime him, that is not how it works.  Hire Jeff if you want to be proud of your home, otherwise take a chance on someone else. read more

We love the new home Jeff made for us. Not really a new home but a nearly total remodel of existing home plus major kitchen remodel / addition. Jeff was a fantastic fit and partner for us and delivered above expectations. He had great ideas and input when things were being planned and was great about soliciting our input along the way while keeping our best interests in mind from a cost perspective. Always driving hard to complete the project on time and reacting to the little (and big) unknowns as well as taking great pride in his workmanship, adding great behind the scene extras and holding other suppliers accountable (like not letting sub par counter installation get by us). His relationships with his high quality subs were also all great and the sub crews were pleasure to work with. I had a falling "awning" in my courtyard. It was installed by the previous owner of this townhouse. 2 other people and I tried to take this thing down, but it was really heavy and we didn't have the right tools. So it was best to call professionals to come remove it. I was fortunate to have found Bodhi Tree Construction on Yelp, because Jeff came to look at the issue the same night I called him. He came the next night (7:30pm) to fit my busy work schedule to remove it. Initially he quoted $150, but he charged me $100 instead because it was already partially fallen off already. He was the most honest contractor I have ever met. Also, the reason what I quoted the word "awning" at the beginning was because it was actually an old door with some hinges and zip ties that the previous owner installed...one of the many clown works he/she had done to this place. I was surprised how long (4 years) it actually lasted; I have been very lucky that this did not fall on anybody who is living here or have lived here before. Anyway, long story short, Jeff was very approachable, fast, reliable, and honest. I might even call him if I need any construction work done in the future. Jeff and Bodhi Tree Construction recently completed a 750 sq. ft expansion to my house, which included a brand new living room and 1st floor bedroom w/full bath. As a new homeowner and first-timer for such a large scale home project, I could not have asked for a better contractor. Some things to know: Jeff is responsive. From my first initial contact expressing interest in his services (he responded within hours), all the way until after the project was completed, Jeff is a professional through and through. Jeff makes his customers and their satisfaction his #1 priority, and with three decades of experience, he demonstrates this again and again. Jeff is all about quality. The completed expansion of the house is beautiful and seamless, and is pretty much indistinguishable from the existing property. The exterior and the interior was expertly done, and we have no qualms whatsoever. Jeff also knows how to manage a site-- having the property cleaned and in order at the end of every day, being cognizant of neighbors and minimizing noise and disturbance of those living in the household was also a big priority for Jeff. Jeff is a communicator. Jeff was very upfront and transparent about costs, about scheduling, about issues (and solutions), and is a very pleasant person to have running the project. Family, friends, and neighbors often stopped by to inquire about his business and enjoyed his warm personality. Jeff gets things done. Jeff estimated a 3 month job from start to finish (no one I spoke to believed it would be done in time) and Jeff delivered it in just under 3 months, beating out his own promise. Despite using subcontractors, Jeff was there just about every day pitching in. We saw him lending a hand to raise the walls, eating lunch with the crews, and sometimes popping in on the weekends by himself to prepare for the next group of subcontractors. The subcontractors were equally as good, respectful, and timely. From a cost perspective, I felt that Bodhi Tree's costs were in-line with my expectations. There were a few additional costs that came in due to the shape/layout of the house and adding in additional sewage lines, but those increases were purely because of some required engineering (and not Bodhi Tree inflating costs). My highest praise for Jeff and Bodhi Tree Construction. I could not have found anyone better to help me build my home. read more

I wanted to share my great experience with Jeff. I called Jeff on Saturday morning for a small job the I wanted to get done the same day and he said he would call me back to confirm in two hours, which he did. I was lucky that day because Jeff happened to be able to finish his work earlier that day. The job was to enlarge the cooktop cutout in my kitchen slightly as I bought a newer cooktop to replace the old one and unfortunately the newer model is about 1/4 inch wider than my previous model despite both of them are Whirlpool cooktops. Jeff initially gave me a quote on the phone that was slightly higher than what I wanted to pay but it was Saturday and I wanted to get the job done so I agreed to the price. Jeff came to my house on time and informed me of the risk that the granite might crack or chip and wanted me to not hold him accountable for that if it happened. So I signed an agreement that he drafted and he started to work on the job. I was helping him along the way as much as I can so our teamwork worked very well and he was able to finish the job smoothly for me (yeah, no crack or chip in the stone). At the time I was going to pay him, he presently surprised me as he asked me to pay him much less that what he quoted me. I completely did not expect that. Although this was a small job but I wanted to highly recommend Jeff because he took the initiative to lower the price without me asking and this kind of impressed me that he is a honest person and I am confident that he won't over charge you. Our long anticipated kitchen remodel.... Finished. The Bodhi Tree Construction team got it done and we love it. We chose Bodhi Tree Construction for several reasons. We liked the personable and positive approach of owner and general contractor Jeff Gomes. His enthusiasm and can-do attitude impressed us. He asked good questions, ones we hadn't thought of, and ones that appeared to show attention to planning and detail. He listened to our questions and responsed in a helpful, honest manner. We liked the pictures of his previous work on the Yelp! page. Although Jeff's was not the least expensive estimate from the bids we received, it fit our budget. The construction process---demolition, plumbing and electrical lay-out, drywall installation with mudding, texturing, and painting, pre-ordered cabinet and granite countertop installations, floor and wall ceramic tiling, and new appliance hook-up---all went relatively smoothly. The biggest construction challenge appeared to be the existing out-of-squareness and imperfect levelness of the walls, floor, and ceilings in our 40-year-old residence. This is where Jeff's commitment to quality work resulted in a new kitchen we are really satisfied with. Jeff didn't "cut corners"; he took the extra steps to address creatively and competently the less-than-ideal conditions. Finally, I will mention a quality which my wife and I totally appreciated: Jeff's habit of keeping us apprised of the job, its schedule, its problems, and its progress throughout the process. He kept us as involved as we wanted to be. A kitchen remodel is a major home improvement project. We used Jeff for a long overdue kitchen remodel. Not the biggest kitchen but with termite damage repair, a wall coming out and dealing with some of the consequences of the previous owner's do-it-yourself work it wasn't a small job either. From day one we were impressed. He handled everything with permits and inspections without any headaches required on our end, his crews had multiple jobs going on but he was on site personally every day there was any significant work going on making sure everything was right and staying on schedule and getting in next to his crews and getting hands on himself. Everyone he sent over was professional and polite. We were kept consistently updated on any new developments (termite damage was more extensive than we thought once one of the walls opened up) and consulted on how to proceed if anything needed to be adjusted. He made sure we knew what aspects of the job needed to be scheduled in advance with other parties (counter top suppliers, etc...) to avoid delays. He would drop by on a moments notice if we had any questions and concerns and he wasn't already on site. Almost every day Jeff was there once his crews finished making sure everything was cleaned up and in order, the only delays in the job were due to some other subcontractors we had to work with because we were getting Ikea cabinets (which Jeff foresaw and warned us was likely in advance). A clear accounting of expenses was maintained, all work was done precisely and with attention to detail, and everything is looking great. We'll probably have some other major project to tackle at some point in the future and he'll be getting another call when we do. read more

The owner of this company, Jeff, did an amazing job with my kitchen. He took it from ghetto to modern in a short about of time. I still am in awe when I walk into my kitchen. It looks like something out of HGTV, seriously. Jeff worked with me from start to finish to create exactly what I wanted. I changed my plan many times and he accommodated my every wish. He helped me coordinate my complete kitchen. He is very skilled, with excellent customer service and a strong work ethic. Jeff was always on time and left the site neat and clean. He really cared about how I would like my finished product. He wanted me to "love" my kitchen, and I do. He moved gas lines, tore out walls, redid the floor, tiled the floor with radiant heat underneath, installed USB outlets, did amazing lighting and more. He did all aspects from top to finish at the best price, actually less than I could find anywhere else, much less. So if you don't want to get ripped off, and want someone who truly cares about their work and will make sure you "love" your project when it's done then you should call Jeff as soon as possible.
