I stumbled onto Done Right as a surprise. After going thru multiple contractors quotes, the day we met Alon, we were instantly excited about our remodel. From start to finish, they maintained professionalism and kept fluid communications during the construction and remodeling process. You need to start brainstorming of what u want, but they help with ideas too! They suggested a sun tunnel in our hallway, best decision ever-- so much natural light in our house. They suggested bifold closet doors-- saves so much space. You have your ideas of ur new home, but they tweak it to make it better! Love it. On day of demo, we met Jerry, Luis, Jonathan, and Joshua. Jerry and Luis were on top of communication and kept everything on schedule. Jonathan and Joshua were our main guys. They worked every day. They helped with moving our boxes into the storage bin, then started the demo process. How fun was it to see our house completely gutted out in less than one day.. wow. They revamped our home with a stunning remodel--new kitchen, new bathroom, transformed hallway closet space to a new powder room, broke down walls to create a bigger space for our living area, new flooring, complete electrical rewire, new recess lighting with dimmers in all rooms, new attic storage, new closets, new windows, and fresh paint. Everything feels sleek, modern, and functional. Not to mention... we now have an awesome new movie room too! The kids are loving it. Walking into our house now feels like stepping into a brand-new home! The whole process took about 3 months... from demo, to materials pick up, to permits, clean up removal, repaint. We hired Done Right to remodel our two bathrooms and replace 3 windows (they were leaking when it rained). This project took approximately 7 months to complete (way way longer than it should have taken) This project was a nightmare with lots of headaches, hassles, mistakes and dissatisfaction. They started the job end of May 2023 and they did not finish until February 2024. Poor workmanship, poor quality of work, too many people to go through with lots of miscommunication. -Wrong-color drain -Sink-wrong size -broken sink -broken medicine cabinet -shower head-missing nob -Tiles-shortage -Tiles-wrong color -Cabinets-switch colors -Shampoo Niche-wrong size -Grout-cracking -Shower doors-leaking -Windows-leaking (they did not fix the problem that we had in the first place) -Tube-squeaky. -Cut a hole in downstairs ceiling for inspector to see because they covered up the pipes before the inspection. And instead of undoing it they decided to cut a hole in our ceiling. Water leaking from upstairs remodel bathroom to downstairs ceiling Tile-scratched and chipped It's only been 5 months and we have had numerous problems already. The bathrooms are falling apart and the windows are still leaking water and unleveled. I wish I had read David G. review before I started work with Done Right. Everything David G. says is true, they make it sound like everything is going to go smoothly, and they will be on top of everything. Eliad, Aviad and Miguel were fantastic to work with throughout our huge six-week construction and renovation project. Not only did we want our shingle roof to be replaced and two chimneys removed, but we also asked for a new deck and engineered hardwood floors upstairs. Once the project had started additional items were added: Redoing the upstairs closet walls and installing a new range hood in the kitchen. Communication was exceptional: Eliad and Aviad created a WhatsApp group for my wife and I to track the project's progress. Everyday I would review the work and send notes. They were always responsive, friendly and usually replied in a few hours. As with any major construction project there were a few setbacks and unpleasant discoveries. However Eliad and Aviad held our hands and walked us through the available options. We always felt looked after. Early on we had asked them to check some walls for mold. Sure enough they found traces, and after further investigation by a mold remediation team, the problem turned out worse than we ever imagined: The mold had eaten through the waterproof paper and penetrated the stucco itself! We had to demo an entire side of our house down to the studs, inside and out. I was relieved though that they took utmost care to protect our brand new windows when demoing the old stucco around them. A silver lining was that the exterior wall was rebuilt to modern code standards, with plywood sheeting and insulation. The stucco workmanship was excellent too - several of our neighbours have remarked how great it looks. Likewise for the Sheetrock and plaster work inside. Miguel was an absolute star and deserves special mention. He led the team on the ground and made sure everything was executed to the highest standard. He has a great eye for detail and a desire to do the job well. He even came in on several weekends to renovate the upstairs closets and ensure the flooring was completed on time. He also did a few small items of electrical work including installing a new range hood at no extra expense. Fantastic guy. The project took just over six weeks, a few weeks over the original estimate because of the mold remediation and exterior wall reconstruction. It was completed in time for my family's return from abroad, which is all that really mattered. As with any project this size there were few hiccups along the way, but Eliad and Aviad were receptive to feedback and quick to make things right at no additional expense. This really is the best one can hope for given the challenging and unpredictable nature of construction. Integrity is everything. My wife and I are delighted with all their hard work, and our home really has been transformed for the better. It's now a very different house to the one we moved into several years ago. Ryan had reached out to me saying that he's been looking for me to apologize and address all my complaints that I wrote in my original review 3 years ago. I was hesitant because I had such a negative experience but he asked I explain what exactly happened. It sounded like the estimators that I interacted originally misrepresented him. I didn't want to fault him for someone else's mistake. Additionally, I think it's possible for people and companies to change. So I had no problem accepting his apology and moving forward. He asked that I consider removing or changing my review after speaking with him and I said I rather modify my existing review after a fresh slate with a new interaction. I'll treat the review as though this is the first time with a new company. Coincidentally, I had plans on doing a reno on a small bathroom and Ryan was quick and accommodating to meet on such short notice (within the day we spoke). He broke down the process and told me what was included in the quote and gave me a rough estimate that he would provide in writing if I decided I liked the price after getting quotes from other people. I had to ask whether certain things were included such as design fees. I'm grateful he cares about his reputation to reach out to me and make peace. It is always a bit of an arduous process to have your house remodeled, but Done Right Home Remodeling very much lived up to their name and made sure the end product lived up to and exceeded our expectations. We lived in the house during construction and were very satisfied the way plastic barriers were erected that minimized dust in the house while allowing us to still access all the rooms in the evening after construction hours. After procrastinating far too long I finally decided in late 2019 to remodel my home's three bathrooms. The Master Bathroom's layout was a terrible use of space and needed to be completely redesigned. I needed to move the shower to another wall, and seal off the entrance to the closet and relocate it into the Master Bedroom. The downstairs guest bathroom (tub/shower) and upstairs powder room needed a full redo with everything located in the same location. I've done three major projects since buying this house and all contractors were problematic. So this time I had a strategy. I started with the direct mail catalogs I found in my mailbox and cross-checked with reviews on Yelp. I only kept the companies with 4 stars or better and over 50 reviews, resulting in 8 on-site visits for estimates. After a few weeks I had a clear decision - Eli from Done Right Home Remodelling won my business for a few key reasons. Eli was very attentive and really listened (unlike others). Eli was the only person who wanted to see the basement to understand how the plumbing was laid out. His hands-on knowledge of the process was reassuring, offering a lot of great suggestions and advice such as staying in the house and not getting a rental. I could move out of the Master Bedroom and into the Guest Bedroom while they did the Maser Bath and Closet, then swap back into the master while they did the other bathrooms. He explained that it would only add 4-6 weeks onto the timeline and would save me a significant amount of money while being able to keep daily tabs on the progress. When Eli finished with the survey I expected him to give me the estimate on the spot as the other contractors did. He explained that he needed to go back to his office to run the numbers correctly and make sure everything was line-itemed correctly, a practice I do in my service based company. This was the final detail that sealed the deal. Eli and I were on the same page with process, and his itemized numbers aligned in the median of the other estimates. And luckily he had an opening to begin the work right after the new year. So it was a no-brainer. We were on. My day job consists of CG modelling and rendering, so I spent time designing the Master Bathroom in 3D down to the millimeter. I had a photo-realistic printout of the rendering hanging on the bathroom window for Eli and Uslises, his "Master Craftsman", who led the team. I was really picky with this design, and Ulises was more than happy to make sure everything was done to perfection. The 24" tiles on the floor (matte) and shower walls (glossy) were perfectly matched to my blueprint. Eli coordinated the glass installation with his glass expert who did a fantastic job with the minimalistic frameless execution, as well as provided the large custom floating mirror for the vanity, custom built by Hesti Cabinet in SF. The result looks shockingly close to the renderings as you can see in the attached photos. Once the project got underway, it became evident that the water pipes in my house were corroding due to my close proximity to the ocean. Since walls were getting opened and I was already in the thick of it, I figured it was as good a time as any to fix this inevitable problem. As soon as the Master Bathroom was complete, the re-piping team swept into the rest of the house (4 stories/2 structures) for the weekend while I escaped to an AirBnB. This was the only time during the entire project that I needed to leave the house. The last two bathrooms were on schedule to be "quickly" done in parallel, but we got hit by COVID-19. The team continued working but slimmed down for social distancing, and were always very respectful of my personal space as I transitioned to working from home. Materials became harder to source, some taking a month to arrive. Fortunately Eli and Ulises were extremely flexible dealing with this along with the insanity of the city permitting and inspection departments during a pandemic. They wrapped up the bathrooms, then finally doors for the Master bath and closet were designed by Pacific Shoji Works and installed. Throughout this insane project Eli kept a cool head, always keeping me in the loop with their progress and plans. I loved the fact that this was a very consistent team. And unlike past experiences, there was not a sense of fear or tension between the workers and the project managers. They all worked together like passionate artisans taking pride in each other's work. Hearing their laughter coming through the walls says a lot about Ulises and Eli as leaders. Obviously I am thrilled with the results and highly recommend Eli, Ulises, and Done Right Home Remodeling. They truly made it an amazing experience and delivered fantastic results. I've contacted Done Right two separate occasions for tiny projects, unrelated to what they've already worked on at our home, looking for plumbing/electrical recommendations (a leak in our guest bathroom and an outlet without power). They sent someone out and fixed both right away! They certainly could have not responded or sent us on our way with recommendations, but they replied within minutes and came out next day to fix. We supplied parts and they fixed at no cost! We've worked with other construction companies and the customer service drops out once projects are complete, but not Done Right! We recently completed our second home remodeling project with Done Right Home Remodeling and we are totally thrilled with the results. The first remodel several years ago was for the bathroom, which we still love and this time it was for the entire kitchen. Custom cabinets, quartz countertops and a new counter for four barstools. Phase 1 - 2nd floor bedrooms (4) remodel - 2nd floor bathrooms (full + master) remodel We talked with the DRHR team about possibly relocating while this work was done, but ultimately the team convinced us that we could stay put (saving us money) and have their guys work room-to-room in a way that enabled our family of four to go about our daily routines without interruption-we could not have been more happy with how it went! The guys were super respectful and took great care to ensure dust and debris remained isolated in only the designated work areas. Quality of the work (including installation of new shower, tub, vanity in the bathrooms, plus recessed lighting, doors, baseboards and flooring in the bedrooms) met our expectations and the team did a great job communicating their plans week to week during the 2.5 month phase of work. Phase 2 Scope - Complete ground floor remodel + new construction / kitchen addition Our home was built in 1980 and its interior layout had not been changed much at all in 40+ years. At first, we were only thinking about replacing a rec room on the back of the house with new, properly insulated construction and then updating our existing kitchen space with new cabinets/appliances/flooring. DRHR asked us, "why not move the kitchen to the new construction on the back of the house?" Once we knew that was an option, we started thinking big. Load-bearing walls were removed, beams were installed and we ended up with a beautifully sky-lit kitchen complete with a new island and sliding door walk-out to our back patio. This phase of work required plumbing and electrical work, cabinet and countertop installation, interior and exterior painting + stucco and the DRHR crew matched its high level of execution from the first phase of work. The deck now basically started deteriorating and it has just been four years. I had a couple of other contractors taking a look at this and they both said it was because they used sub-par materials. I wrote a review for Done Right in 2022 when they completed our full home remodel to change a 3 bed 2 bath to 4 and 3.5. We had the home down the studs and they helped build all aspects of the home. I want to write that after 2 years, their work quality continues. Everything is great and we get effusive compliments. the few minor patch work we requested (for example, resealing our bathroom floor tiles) they have been incredibly responsive and addressed our asks.
