I ordered ahead and got a 4 piece meal, perhaps 4 pieces were too many because I ended up saving some of it for lunch the next day, however it only meant I got two chances to enjoy the crispy, but not super battered, chicken not just once but twice. I was really impressed with the Mac and Cheese. Not many places do the side well, often it's goopy school cafeteria fare but their Mac and Cheese was rich and creamy. The Potato Wedges were spiced very nicely, perhaps better than KFC. What else can I say? If you are driving through C'ville perhaps make your next pit stop at The Market.

Bodo's is the quintessential "local breakfast spot" for Charlottesville. The great thing is that there are numerous locations throughout Albermarle county! Bodo's is known for their delicious breakfast sandwiches and piping hot coffee. They also have great sandwiches for lunch with a mix of meats and cheeses as well. Be it the beauty of simplicity or simple the fact that it's delicious, but my favorite thing to get is a fresh bagel with some of their homemade herb cream cheese. The bagels are made fresh daily so you won't even need them toasted! Staff is always adequate for the demand and they are more than capable to answer any questions you might have. His restaurant has NO WIFI!!! But the bagels fall into the category of BAEgels. They are totally amazing and will satisfy your every bagel desire. There are various options and the staff are really good about giving you suggestions as well as giving you what you want. The variety of options are great and can be overwhelming at your first visit. The workers are incredibly speedy even on busy days and you usually end up with your food in less than 10 minutes on average. Don't take your date here, but do come here when you're dying of hanger. The decorations are a bit dim but the food and joy provided make up for any negative thoughts one might have. read more

Bodo's is fast, healthy, inexpensive, and delicious! You can't go wrong here. The bagel bakers know what they're doing. The line is always out the door (the wait is too long), especially on the weekends, but the line goes not very slow, as the employees have the system down pat. I ordered the lox with cream cheese (which was simply 2 pretty small slices of smoked salmon with huge slab of cream cheese - no capers) and my Mom ordered an egg/ham bagel, although the egg/ham was very thin, with the extra cream cheese. Went to Bodo's last weekend with some friends. This wasn't my first visit. The bagels are delicious and I really love the different combinations you can make. There are a lot of choices. However, the employees aren't trying to be nice. Not in the least. I actually high-fived my friend during this visit because I got the cashier to crack a smile. I bet they are all great people and I can't decide if it's part of the schtick, if they're just overwhelmed, or if the just DGAF. Anyway, the service/attitude is what makes me want to go somewhere else. That's sad. read more

I grew up in Chalottesville, and if you are a Cvillian you go to Bodo's. It is so good. I always order the kalamata olive spread on an everything bagel and potato salad. They are the only place I've been to where, when I order potato salad, I don't feel like I'm eating a blob of mayo. Not to mention, even when I've gone in there and they have a line out the door, they always manage to get my order right and ready relatively quickly. Never disappointed with some Bodo's! read more

This is the premiere place for bagels and bagel sandwiches in Charlottesville. Wouldn't it be amazing if they were willing to toast their bagels. The sandwiches are often under-seasoned, but that's what salt and pepper packets are for. I have been told that their sandwiches are better and that their bagels are actually meant for those (the last refuge of a coward bagel maker, but I digress), so I ordered a sandwich. I ended up with a roast beef and horseradish bagel, but in some perverse nod to tradition, my bagel came with meat and a large dollop of white chrain (raw horseradish). That was all. The herb of affliction, rather than the nice horseradish sauce that I expected. I'd rather go to Arby's. I respect all restauranteurs. Feeding people is difficult ands often thankless work. So, I don't often leave negative reviews. However, I can no longer remain silent while people claim Bodos is good.
