I took my 2013 Shelby GT500 Super Snake in for an estimate for a rear bumper replacement due to a rear-ending and a front fender swap to complete a widebody kit. I was told on Wednesday that it would take a day or two to complete the estimate. A week passed by with no estimate and no phone call so I proceeded to call and spoke with the receptionist to which I asked as to the status of my estimates. She had my info and was going to have the estimator call me as well as e-mail me the estimates. Again, no phone call and no e-mail. Not only did they have an opportunity to do a minor collision repair but also some extra upgrades with the a potential for a full vehicle repaint to bring it up to showroom quality, a missed five-figure opportunity. No communication, no follow-up or follow-through, nothing. If this is the kind of service that this local business is going to give it's customers, I would highly suggest looking elsewhere. Would you honestly trust a company with your daily-driver or collectors vehicles, both of which are investments, when they can't or won't communicate with you nor follow up with you in a timely manner? Does the poor service not only stop there but show itself in the quality of their work as well? As a mechanical engineer and a veteran, I pride myself on the quality of my work and the ethics to which I follow, while also providing good communication and follow-up to those I provide my experience and expertise to, as I am expected to provide nothing less by those who do business with me. I expect the same from those I would do business with or I end up looking elsewhere. I'd suggest you do the same. read more

My truck broke in the middle of one of the busiest intersections in Post Falls. We called our insurance, who called someone in CDA that told us they'd be there in an hour. With traffic backing up about a quarter-mile in all directions, we didn't have an hour. So we called Body by Scotty. They showed up in about seven minutes, the driver helped me fix the truck in no time at all, and I was able to limp it back home. The charge? Nada. WAIT 7 DAYS ON A 1 DAY REPAIR Start of 1st day: I left car, asking that frame be straightened. No action. End of 2nd day: car was looked at, BbS determined I was correct, that frame needed to be straightened. [2 entire days only to tell me what I already know?] 3rd day: no action, no contact. weekend End of 4th day: I rang. BbS said short of mechanics, done tomorrow. 5th day: no action, no contact. End of 6th day: I rang. BbS said computer problem, done tomorrow. End of 7th day: BbS rang: car was done. Asked for a discount for having to wait 7 days on a 1 day repair. BbS said no. Side panels had 8 rivets missing. Took it back a month later to get these replaced, they put in 3 more, still left 5 out. Fender was still out of alignment with hood. Took it back a month later, returned in same condition. WRONG PART First day, I rang, asking for a new fender liner, quoted $127 for part and installation. BbS said they'd ring me when it came in. 20 days later, after no contact, I happened to be at the parts yard (for another part unrelated to BbS), same one where BbS told me the fender liner would be sent from. Asked them status of fender liner that was taking forever. They said it had been delivered to BbS on the first day! Fools never bothered to ring me! I rang them and got an appt. Day of appt, I left my car at the start of the day. Invoice had raised price from $127 to $152. At the end of the day: BbS rang me, said wrong part had been delivered. Okay, I get that this was not BbS fault. But maybe inspect a part on delivery to see if it is correct? If not then, maybe the day I make the appt? If not then, maybe the day I bring in my car? Nope, send me home, wait all day, only then have a look at the part. read more

My car got damage from driving through a storm on my way to Idaho from AZ, Nickie and the staff made sure it was all taken care of, I loved the service and completeness of the whole experience. I didn't even have to contact my insurance company many times, they handled it all! I called to open the claim they handled the rest. The second time they handled everything, it was a hassle free easy process. They had a courtesy car that I was able to use so I wasn't put out at all. Unfortunately while still in Idaho I was parked and someone hit my brand new bumper, back to Body by Scotty, Keith helped us out with the estimate and was thorough. The work is awesome and if you are not happy they tell you to bring the car back. Customer service is impeccable, people there are amazing. Beware when they tell you, car will be done in a two weeks, DON'T BELIEVE IT. It took Body by Scotty in Post Falls, Idaho a month and half to get my car fixed after I had my accident. and they gave me a quote but when I got my car back the price was 3 times as much. Then on top of it it all the painted didnt even match, my 2 year old could have painted my car better then them. There customer service personnel are so rude. I will never take any of my business back to them and I don't want my family or friends to get screwed over so I will never refer my friends and family to Body By Scotty. If your insurance company says to go to Body by Scotty, Tell them Hell NO I want my car done right and not get screwed in the process. read more

I got my vehicle towed there and I had a knife sitting on my front passenger seat. This was also on a Thursday night and Friday was a Holiday so they were not there for me to get my vehicle nor were they there Saturday or Sunday so I had to pick it up Monday morning well I was charged storage fees for all four days and they justified it by saying it was cheaper for me to pay for four days of storage than it was for me to pay a gate fee and would not even wave any fees. So I signed some papers and took my vehicle and went on with my day. I started to look for my knife because I wear it every wear because one of my good friends who is no longer with us gave it to me just before he died. Well when I was looking for my knife I could not find it after three to four times looking through my vehicle, so I called them and they claimed that they never saw it said the only person who got into my vehicle was the tow truck driver. So they had me talk to him and he said he never found the knife. Well on a police report it said the knife was placed on the passenger seat and on their report the knife was not on the list. So who am I going to trust the police. Moral of the story if you do not want your personal belongings stolen and to be told that there is nothing they can do about it DO NOT GO TO Body by Scotty. read more

Staff here are nice people but unbelievably incompetent. It took them exactly a month to even get my car in after my accident. The whole experience dealing with these guys was worse than the accident itself. I even had to get my insurance involved at one point because it had gotten so ridiculous, and I even typed up an itinerary of all of the delays that I had to go through. Throughout this entire process not once did I lose my patience with these people over the phone I waited until I got off the phone to lose my temper because I knew that losing it while I was on the phone wouldn't solve anything nor would it get me my car back any faster. And even after all was said and done and I went and picked up my car finally after 3 whole months of me not having my car (2 months of them actually having it) no resolution was offered for the inconvenience. Here are the details of my experience: -Got in the car accident 10/25/2017 -got the estimate of damages done at Body by Scotty 10/27/2017 -Body by Scotty didn't take car in for repairs until 11/27/2017 -Gave me an estimated time of completion as 12/13/2017 on the day we dropped it off. -Told me that a courtesy car would be available around 12/04/2017    Courtesy car wasn't actually available until 12/06/2017 Where they then informed us that our estimated completion date had been pushed another week to about 12/21/2017 because they now realized they had to take the engine out, which they would have to send it somewhere else in order to do this. The courtesy vehicle they had at the time was a Durango (not practical for our travel needs) They informed me that they would get me into their Subaru courtesy car once they got it back.The Subaru wasn't given to us until 12/17/2017 I called them on 12/16/2017 to get an update on my car and to inquire about the Subaru and the guy said "oh yeah, we are suppose to be getting you into the Subaru, huh?" he put me on hold and then when he came back he said "Oh, looks like it was returned while my back was turned. We'll have it ready for you tomorrow." -I had filled out a paper that asked how many times I would like to be contacted I selected for every Wednesday and when the repairs where complete. I had to call them EVERY Thursday because they failed to contact me on any Wednesday. -12/21/2017 I contacted them to get an update on picking up my car and they informed me that they were about to send it out to get the engine out and now it wouldn't be done till the beginning of the next week. -12/28/2017 I contacted them to get an update on picking up my car and they informed me that it now wasn't going to be done until the first week of January Because they were finishing repairs and then they just had to send it back out to get the engine put back in. -01/04/2018 I contacted them to get an update on picking up my car and they informed me that it now wasn't going to be done until 01/08/2017 Because they still had to get the car back from getting the engine put back in and then they were going to send it out to be painted. -01/08/2018 I contacted them to get an update on picking up my car and they informed me it now wasn't going to be done until 01/09/2018 afternoon or 01/10/2018 Early morning cuz it still needed some paint touch ups and a test drive. -01/10/2018 I contacted them to get an update on picking up my car and they informed me that they were getting 2 lights on the dash and were trying to clear them. they told me that one of the codes was usually associated with wheel bearings and that they weren't sure about the other code. They said that they were sending it back to the same place that took the engine out to have them figure out the codes -01/11/2018 I contacted them to get an update on picking up my car and they informed me that One of the codes had been cleared but the other was not and that it was related to my transmission and that their system showed that it had been on since before the accident and that I needed to take the car into the dealership to get the issue resolved, He stated that the warranty for second time owner would cover it with it being under 60,000 miles.He mentioned that when they test drove it the cars transmission did feel "Draggy". I informed them that no such light was on when I had the car and that it didn't have any of those problems. He then stated that the light wouldn't normally show for this issue. -01/12/2018 I contacted my insurance and got them involved -01/15/2018 got a call from Joe Green with Allstate went over all the issues. He talked to BBS and was told that they were going to fix the transmission issue there before giving the car back to me. -01/16/2018 Got contacted by BBS Stating that they had just sent it back Over to the dealership to get the transmission issue figured out. And that my vehicle should be done by the end of next week (01/26/2018). -01/26/2018 Received a call from BBS stating that my car would be done after 4 that day. Picked it up Monday. read more
