The issue was straightforward and resolvable in a single day. After eleven days of vague and questionable excuses, I finally got my car back. I don't know if Tune Tech's policy is to "just get them in" and then manage as best they can, but it would explain the overpromising and underdelivering I experienced. I hope their scheduling and policies don't reflect their technical abilities. I hope they fixed my car correctly. I wish I didn't have that doubt. Time will tell. I opted to wait and find a small(er) biz neighborhood shop, which is how I ended up at A-Pro Auto Body. From the jump, Tom was friendly, easy to work with, and quoted me a much lower number (even after adding another unrelated repair), so I was happy to entrust them with fixing my girl. He didn't even give me a hard time when I had to pay them the 50% down in 20s (there is a fee for using a card for payment and I am trying to keep as much of that insurance payout as I can, y'know). He told me it would take about two weeks, and I was mentally prepared to wait longer, but they ended up needing less time, and I was pleasantly surprised to get the call well before I had expected it. When I picked her up, I was thrilled to see her back in fighting shape, and way cleaner than when she was dropped off. The vibe of the place definitely reminded me of auto wrecking/transmission shops that my mom and I have worked at in our younger years. Is it super fancy and shiny? Nope. Can you tell that they are/like a family and care for their customers? Absolutely. Tom playfully told me that they don't want to see me back there, and I do hope that I don't need to visit again anytime soon, but I will definitely recommend them to anyone who mentions car repair in my presence.

They've been absolutely great every time we've had to bring our vehicle in. Their prices are more than reasonable, there's even been a couple of occasions where they have told us of less expensive ways to get repairs done. Which I really appreciate. Unfortunately, during my last couple of visits, I was disappointed by how much their pricing has increased and how much they upcharge for parts. I understand the need to charge a diagnostic fee. However, charging $150 to scan a vehicle--a process that takes only a few minutes--and then not applying any portion of that fee toward the actual repair labor feels excessive. During my most recent visit, I had already identified the problem and had priced the cost of both OEM and aftermarket replacement parts before bringing my vehicle in. When I received the invoice, I was surprised to see that the part had been marked up by approximately 125%. While I recognize that repair shops mark up parts, this level of markup seemed unreasonable. As I mentioned, I have always trusted the quality of Lloyd's workmanship, but I no longer have the same confidence in their pricing. After comparing estimates from several other repair shops for the same repair, I found that Lloyd's was by far the most expensive. Because of this, I have made the decision to have my vehicles serviced elsewhere. I regret having to do so after being a loyal customer for two decades, but I hope this feedback is helpful as you evaluate your pricing practices.
