There are clothes, snacks and socks (you need them), water available to purchase and most importantly TOWELS. The ladies that teach are dancers and they know their stuff. They do come over and correct your postures. They do remember your name. They do the class with you... well mostly. Kristi knows her stuff, and gives the most detailed instructions of all the instructors. Huge focus on form! The workout consists of a warm up, stretching, thigh, seat work, abs, cool down, and more stretching. You will shake, you will work, you will tone up, you will be encouraged. You don't have to be a dancer to attend Smart Barre (hello? Have you seen my dance moves?). I am by no means a dancer (In public!) and never felt intimidated or embarrassed. Except the days I'm so tired I can't remember left from right... yes, it's happened. I have been to several studios in the area. If the word BARRE is in the name, I've been there sweating my A$$ off. Smart Barre has THE most pleasant staff. They show you the moves and actually do them with you, not just walk around the room talking. It's ALL barre all the time, not a studio with a few classes a day. This is a legit workout. There are days I think Sara is trying to kill me. Sally will whip you into shape. My friend is a regular member here so she suggested we head to Smart Barre and since it was on my CP and available I quickly signed up and we headed over. I hadn't done a class there in a long time. I did a Pilates class elsewhere earlier in the day and after taking this class made me wonder why I don't come here more often. Great workout! I wanted to start personal training for many years but thought it was something only celebrities did. Nonetheless, I put my preconceived notions aside and jumped in. I chose to start working with Morgan because she had struggled with her weight at one point in her life, so I felt she would understand what I was going through better than someone who had been in shape their whole life. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable, she has such a great personality to make your sessions fun, yet effective. Almost immediately, I could see changes happening. I started to lose weight steadily and had more energy. Morgan helped me make small changes in my diet each week until I finally achieved an optimal meal regimen. To date, I have lost 50 pounds and 14% body fat. I have kept it off thanks to her nutrition and exercise expertise a year and a half later.

Every class the instructor comes up to me and tells me what he did wrong in class, which I appreciate the opportunity to work with my son in addressing issues so no problem there, but the last straw of his attitude was when he took his belt away, I asked what my son was doing because I was actually watching and for the first time mine wasn't being out of line and his response with a snark said "he's just being Ty" well i can't work on anything with him if you won't tell me but the attitude is very telling of how you feel about my autistic child, mild but that doesn't matter, and he still feels your attitude because children are very intuitive. Either way, I've never met a 4 year old that doesnt wiggle. Another day before class the instructor addressed my son and i said "it's not an excuse but he hasn't slept more than 4 hours at a time in the last 2 weeks so it's a little rough" and the instructor literally told me "that's a home issue, give him nyquil" to a 4 year old. When we signed up the paper states $200 termination fee if leaving before 6 months but I was told in person by the lady in charge "but I don't charge that for kids because they change their mind a lot" no I didn't add an addendum the paper because I had a fussy nursing baby so no hands to write entire sentences. She charged it anyways to a card they didn't have permission to use but I used it in their business once to buy his uniform and pay the start up fee, and she tried the approved card first but it was declined because it was stolen recently. she sent a link when we signed up for future monthly payments that were to be charged on a completely DIFFERENT card and permission was revoked in writing to use original card they had on file. She's now saying the contract wasn't notated and initialed, either way you should stick to your word and not lie, but also verbal agreements are binding in the state of Texas.
