I have been coming to Body Serene for years and while I love the woman who does my hair, the front desk staff is so incredibly rude. Every time I have been in there, they ignore people, act annoyed they have to help, are unfriendly and sometimes downright rude. I don't know if they are told to act like they are above people and are in some trendy LA salon, but they aren't and they should try good customer service sometimes. This is across the board. I have been a customer of the Body Serene for years and have always found it to be a beautiful little oasis where you can relax and restore. While my services have continued to be outstanding, I'm really struggling with the new staff at the desk. The last two times my daughter or I have been in our cards have been charged over 5 times each. Resulting in our cards being locked for fraud alerts and both ended up having to use a second card to pay our bills. This is extremely frustrating as it has required a lot of back unnecessary back and forth. Additionally the cost of services increased during Covid and have remained high since. read more

It's really disappointing how downhill this salon has gone recently. It may be due to a changeover in management or something like that. Who knows. My most recent experience was awful. I booked several salon services because I had a gift card. I was told over the phone that my gift card would be accepted. Upon checkout, after the services were done and after the staff attempted to use the gift card multiple times, they realized they DO NOT in fact take the gift card I was trying to use. I got stuck with a $200 salon charge I wasn't expecting. Had I known and been well informed by the staff, I would have booked 1 service only. I attempted to reach the salon owner herself 2 times, and waited over 3 days for a phone call back. I was finally notified via email (even tho I have repeatedly asked for a phone call) that there's nothing that can be done. I have been a client for several years. Sad to say this was a dealbreaker for me. read more

Was very excited to return to Body Serene for a message but was gravely disappointed. My massage was freezing, there was a small fan blowing on me during my entire massage. I had asked to have it moved and it was redirected for a minute but then moved back to have the fan directly on my back the entire massage. I truly couldn't relax and enjoy the massage because I was so tense from being on the verge of shivering. Sadly, this ruined my image of Body Serene. read more

I got a mani/pedi and a 50 minute massage at the spa. The place is adorable, but the prices are way to high. Reception area seemed a bit disorganized also. Honestly, there was nothing outstanding about the services provided that justified such high prices. I booked the consultation, where the stylist communicated how good she is and how she trains everyone else. I got a false sense of being in "good hands". We never discussed length of bangs. I simply Loved the Lavender dream massage. My massage therapist was very professional and her pressure was perfect. I loved all the little extra details with the moist hot towels too. One went on my back then had a warm beanbag which went over the towel and it was so warm and cozy which made superior to other massages. There's nothing worse then being cold on someones massage table either so all these little details made it superior to others. For the higher priced menu it definitely provides that extra touch that really stands out from the rest. The hot moist towels under the neck, on the hands & feet were great too. It felt like I was wrapped in a warm blanket of lavender and I didn't want it to end. After the massage I was given a little sash of fresh lavender to take home and put under my pillow or if I held in my hand it warmed it up and smelled absolutely amazing! The only downside I had was a few minor things. No spring or bottled water was available afterwards due to not having it in stock; the prices had been raised $15 dollars higher then original menu which for other services with a lot of products being used I could understand but that wasn't the case here; and it wasn't a full 60 mins. It was 50 mins. The Total price for 50min massage at $115.00 + 18% tip $20 is a very high price tag and something I could never afford to have done on my own but it was a wonderful gift that I'm truly grateful for getting on my birthday by my amazing friends. I loved the overall experience and if you're looking to feel fully relaxed and pampered to perfection this was a great place. read more

Overpriced Stylist that refused to listen and said "I'm an artist, I have to be able to do what I want." She pretended to listen to my needs, argued with me at one point, declared I was the worst client ever (because I knew what I wanted and brought pictures) and it wasn't what SHE wanted to do with my hair. I am the one that has to wear this hair day in and day out, not her. If someone comes in and doesn't know what they want, sure go to town and be "an artist", but you only showed your lack of skill by saying you won't do want I want (translated can't). This was one of the worst consultations I've ever had! At one point I said, "fine just cut it", so we could be done - she decided to be nice, but it was only so she could pretend to do what I want, in the end she did exactly what she said she wanted to do, and I was stupid enough to still tip her the full 20%. I have now another lesson learned and have to wait for my hair to grow out - again! It was overpriced and she was rude! I wanted FULL foils, she gave partial! And not even the colors I wanted. NEVER will I return for that kind of insult again. Score: 0 I paid over $700 for the 1/2 day for 2 people NOT including product and tips. Somehow $20.00 disappeared between the time I handed the cash over and the time the woman finished ringing everything up. I know I gave a $20 it was the only one I had. Had to give another 20 in $10s - begrudgingly. Apparently my pedicurist called out sick, but they didn't tell me until we arrived. Score 3 So, I had to share with the person I came in with making us wait for one another instead of at the same time which is how we scheduled it a month ago; which was sort of fine, and the girl who did the pedi did a nice job (thought there was a slightly off-handed comment insulting me for my age, and probably didn't even realize she did it, but still we should be more aware potential offensive language). She did a nice job and she was social, was very quick but also very clean and did a great job. Score: 4.5 Then, to the pedicure. That girl said all of 8 words. "This foot", then tapped it to put it back, then tapped this one, then said, "is this the color you picked?", because basically she never asked about a color, then when I said no, the other girl from the mani said oh this color. Seriously, if you're in the business where you have contact with clients all day, you need to learn to be social. She did a decent job, but the anti-social behavior is off-putting. Score: 3 People must be making a lot more $$ than I make to afford these prices. Because of the services I received it was NOT relaxing to have to deal with the Hairstylist as she kept REFUSING to listen to my needs and put her "artistic needs" ahead of the client, and then even after all that didn't do what I wanted. That was very STRESSFUL and not at all the relaxing day envisioned for a "spa-day". The missing 20 was annoying especially considering how much money I spent. I had to save for over a year, yeah, I don't make much so I scrimp and save to get something special and it was not the special I thought it would be... I had gift cards I got as presents before Covid hit and wanted to use them to treat myself. It was my first time going here. I opted for a facial because it was the cheapest on the menu. The women who checked me in were very nice. The girl doing the facial introduced herself and walked me to the room. She told me to get as comfy as I wanted and get under the sheet. I opted to take everything off up top and kept everything on waist down. Then it began....the most incredible 50min of my life. I'm not even exaggerating. She was doing her thing on my face and it was so nice. The part where she digs out all the black & white heads wasn't the best but later I'd come to find out how incredibly worth it it is. She put a mask on my face and asked if I wanted a hand or scalp massage while we wait for it to dry! Scalp please! Sweet Jesus, It was better then a massage. Unfortunately, all amazing things come to an end. When it was over she says "wow, wait till you see your face," and hands me a mirror. I couldn't believe how amazing my skin looked. She removed years of redness & yuck. My skin was all one color & radiant. I looked like I had makeup on! That was the best experience & I couldn't have been happier. I have now come to Body Serene 3 times and each visit has exceeded my expectations. It is my understanding that the spa and Mira Salon have now joined forces, so some of the menu items have changed. Anywho, I knew I wanted to get a pedicure, but had recently broken one of my nails on a run. The technician was gentle and efficient, even putting down some synthetic tape and filing it down so my nail could be painted evenly. The results were better than I could have ever hoped. My only negative was not being able to stay longer to take advantage of their customer appreciation special -- a 50-minute massage or facial for just $50! You are guaranteed to leave feeling refreshed and relaxed, and I may even venture into the salon for a hair cut next time. read more

I received a Birthday pak gift card for this place and decided to try it out with my sister and mom. We all had the express pedicures, which for $30(regular price) should be worth it and relaxing. All three of us were done at the same time which was nice. But I was the last one to sit and the first one finished. I did not feel like I received the same service as my sister and mom did as they both got leg and foot massages and friendly, bubbly girls performing their services. My sister was pleased with her service and she had a manicure as well. I can get a better pedicure at a cheaper place. The only good thing is that I could use the 2 birthday pak gift cards I had because I will no be going back there any time soon. For $30 you can get a spa pedicure elsewhere , so save your money and go somewhere else. read more

I love this spa!! The staff is warm and welcoming. The ambience is soothing. It is beautifully decorated. The services are amazing. I've had manicures, pedicures, massages, and facials, and every experience was five star. The manicurists are meticulous and I leave with perfect polished nails every time. They are all great but Regina is my favorite. The other great thing about this spa is that they don't do hair, so there's never the hum of hair dryers or the smell of product. I never noticed it before, but it really does make a huge difference in the total spa experience. The employees take a lot of pride in their work. I challenge anyone to find a better spa experience. Basic and unprofessional. My mom went for a massage and it was overpriced, the girl working with her never stopped talking about herself, and was also way too weak. The women at check-in never noticed she walked in until she said "Hello?" after a few minutes (and it wasn't even busy...). My mom was a massage therapist, so she knew what she was talking about. It's so unprofessional to talk when your guest doesn't want to. The girl's work ethic made her doubt she's even licensed or insured. Maybe they're better at nails or hair or something, but massages are not their key. She definitely will visit Rose at TLC Spa for a good, STRONG massage. No more browsing for others! read more

My first visit and I loved it. Very cute place and super friendly staff. Cara did my massage and gave me the best massage I ever had. Really worked hard on my problem areas without beating me up and still left me totally relaxed. Felt very well taken care of. It's a little pricey but It was definitely worth it. I'll be coming back soon! My only complaint is that I was distracted by all the noise/voices from the front of the salon from my massage room. I went to Body Serene today for a facial and a pedicure. Kathy did a great job with my facial. She was very friendly and professional. I paid 50 dollars for a pedicure and the girl was very nice but very inexperienced. I usually pay 27 at a nail place near me and get a much better pedi. For the expense, the service should be outstanding and it was just mediocre. However, she did bring my car to the front door in the snow which was great. read more
