I have been training at Fit Factory for a little less than 3 months and in just 11 weeks I have seen major results! I love taking the Strength 50 classes and I go to Roxanne's Wednesday evening class each week. The front desk staff is mostly nice, but some of the staff seems a little unreliable. One class I went to recently, they wrote me in on a station on the marker board and then during class starting another member was sitting on my station the whole time during the warm up. When I asked about it to the front desk, the lady said "oh that's (member name)'s station", and she erased my name from the marker board and I had to pick a new station. Not a huge deal but I arrive 20 minutes in advance to pick a location in a more desirable location. The same thing happened this week, but I noticed the same front desk employee had written in member names in advance of the strength 50 and no other people were waiting in the waiting room. It seems the studio shows favoritism towards "certain members" as one of the same members barged me out of the way to change the temperature in the studio on the thermostat. My own studio doesn't allow this, so I'm not sure why this studio allows this. This experience is why I'm rating the studio 4 stars. The coach Roxanne is absolutely amazing and I would rate her 10 stars. She is a great and thorough coach, makes sure she runs a great class, and checks on everyone's form and makes sure everyone is safe. She really is a gift to the entire OTF community and the studio is lucky to have her.

I was excited to start the day exercising as a family. The young lady at reception wouldn't allow my father to enter because he only had a clear photo of his ID on his phone (not the physical card). I politely explained the situation and asked for a one-time exception, but she strictly followed the policy with no flexibility. I fully understand the need for security rules, but a little empathy and common sense in special cases would make a big difference. Compared to LA Fitness, where staff handles similar situations with more understanding, this left me disappointed. A gym should inspire positivity and motivation, not start the day with unnecessary frustration. For this reason, one star.

Cons: -After a first class, they grab you and go over one year membership (very pushy!!). -It is difficult to reserve a spot. They only allow you to reserve one class at a time if you are not a regular member. -You can only reserve a spot in person or by calling. However, they are only available to answer your call a couple hours before the evening classes. -When you finally get a chance to talk to them, the classes are full. The instructor told me that they can only allow 4 beginners per class. Thus, although the classes weren't full, I couldn't take the class. In conclusion, it just took too much effort to take a class and enjoy the workout.

This gym offers a unique variety of things that you can't find at your regular box gyms. You can take Kickboxing, Sanshou, Kung Fu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or Bootcamp. They offer classes for both kids and adults 7 days a week. From the time you walk in to the time you leave, they really do take the extra time to focus on you. Your needs, your goals, your weaknesses, your strengths. Always encouraging you and always there to call you out if you need it, and trust me sometimes I did. Walking into John Wai, you feel warm and welcome. It reminds me of Cheers "Where every body knows your name, and they are always glad you came". Not only do they offer a gym where you can really reach those goals that you want, they offer more, they offer an amazing community, a family. Walking into a new gym is often scary and you always run into these cliques, but this place is the only place I have never ever experienced that. From the owner down to the newest member everyone is happy, helpful, and friendly. Tucked away in the back of a tiny plaza in the middle of Plantation, this place really is a diamond in the rough. Stay away, stay far far away from this place…read more My girlfriend brought her daughter in for the trial packaged that was advertised as a 2 week trial, after 2 classes Parker told her he would make a special rate for her, and put together a "custom package" for her, that he then did not honor after her daughter had already started to feel comfortable coming to studio. She asked to talk to the owner, not sure if we did or if we got another employee, who said "I am the owner" and never gave his name and he went on to berate her and tell her he would not honor the price Parker gave us. I personally called myself and told Parker I wanted to sign up and he would not give me a price or a trial membership. I have never seen such high levels of deceit in my life, especially around something that requires honor and respect like martial arts. This is just another south Florida scam, the man who claims to be the owner spoke to my girlfriend in a way that no man should speak to a woman, and definitely not anyone I would want around my children. We frequently go to other places in the plaza and spoke to other partners getting food next door, who shook their head and were like yeah, that's Parker for you.... So sad, our daughter became collateral damage of the bait and switch scam they run, like they can't even tell us a program price over the phone? Find a more honorable studio to teach something like martial arts that requires honor.

Make sure to bring your water and a towel. The work out starts with a 2 lap outside run, then mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 squats, and end with mile run.
