I like this place a lot. It's very simple, which I love. To me, there is nothing relaxing about getting a massage at an upscale spa. After coming home one weekend from a stressful public speaking workshop, where I spent about 48 hours being super tense, I knew I needed to treat myself to a massage. So, I hopped on Yelp, and this place popped up at the top. 5 star reviews and located only about 5 minutes from me? Yes please! I called and they were able to get me in about 2 hours later. Awesome. Best massage of my life. The name of the woman escapes me, but I believe she is the owner/co-owner. My shoulders and upper back felt amazing after leaving. The prices here are also incredible. I have paid twice as much at a spa and left feeling not nearly as relaxed. I have seen another woman since and she was just as great. I will definitely keep coming back! read more

I am so thankful I found BodyGood Massage! I started going to Dan for headaches as well as neck and shoulder pain. Headaches are gone and neck and shoulders are doing so much better! He's great at trouble shooting and conversing with you about the issue so that he can get right to the root of what is causing the pain. Had a great experience! Was the first time getting a massage for my girlfriend and I, and we realize that we should have done something like this years ago. All tension in my back is just gone now. Dan and his wife are very accommodating and friendly and made sure our first time was done right. Little extras like candy and roses (for Valentines day, I'm sure) were a great touch! Very great value at that price for the couple's massage as well. Being my first time, I didn't even think about leaving a tip... I wrote a very critical review as I typically do when I am unhappy (see below). Dan, the owner of Bodygood massage, called me personally to address my concern. Not many businesses take this level of personal interest in their clientele. I was pleased to see how much Dan cares about the service he offers. My faith in Bodgood massage is restored - at least for the time being :) Previous review (with 1 star rating): I used to love this place until today. I was assured that the new masseuse was "really good". That is the only reason I agreed since Dan was fully booked. I made it clear that I preferred real intense deep tissue massage. I received a less than subpar massage despite telling the masseuse during the massage I wanted him to put more pressure. The front desk was aware I was not at all happy with the massage and yet they charged full price: $75! read more

I went here on my birthday. Not only did the male therapist talk the whole time, even though I was trying to make it clear that I would prefer silence, he continually commented on my body. He called me "swarthy" and told me he thought I was Puerto Rican because I had big thighs. When he found out it was my birthday he also made a comment I will not repeat here about my age and body compared to his (stating he was nearly 20 years older than me). It was disgusting and upsetting, not to mention insulting. Obviously it sucks and is lame to use Yelp to call individuals out for terrible behavior but I don't know what else to do. I had to wait 15 minutes to get my massage even with an appointment, but they made up for it with a fantastic full-body massage at a great price. It's a definitely a mom and pop outfit, nice and cozy and clean with a peaceful vibe. My friend has been coming here for a few weeks and bought me a massage for Christmas. We decided to do a "couples" massage. I had Dan and she had Li. He had asked me prior to what type of pressure I wanted and I said firm and that he was! He was able to get some knots in my neck that have probably been there for weeks. That is, until I managed to damage myself enough that the services of a professional were in order since my range of motion was being affected. I called on a Thursday morning on the off chance that I could schedule for that afternoon and they fit me in without any problems. I have been going to Bodygood Massage for years now. I remember before making my first appointment, looking for something close to home and I read the many good yelp reviews as part of my decision making process. I have received a lot of massage over the past 20 years and have to say that Dan (one of the owners) is very good at what he does! He's the person to see if you need a great deep tissue massage...the best I have ever had. He's very busy and booked in advance so you have to plan ahead to get an appointment with him. I had one massage with his wife Li and she is also great! I haven't tried any of the other therapists that work there but see good reviews here for them so I would try them out if I couldn't get in with Dan or Li and needed someone right away. I get text message reminders for my appointments which is very helpful! I have been able to reschedule an appointment via text and communicate about issues or questions and this is helpful for me. I don't always have time to make calls during the work day and sending a text is an easy way to get things done! I would and have highly recommended BodyGood Massage to friends and family. Lam used his hands and fingers 90% of the time, instead of his forearm like most places do, and got every inch of my body. I've had good massages before. Or so I thought until I had Dan the Man. Honestly, how he gives an incredible massage sitting down, I do not know. All I *do* know is that my body (especially my legs) took a beating from a race this last weekend and Dan rubbed all the kinks and aches out. I walked in to BodyGood tonight at 4:30 PM and asked if I could get a 30-minute foot and leg massage before a 5 PM event nearby. 2nd Update. 4 Stars. I've since been back to Bodygood for a do-over they offered me in compensation. My massage was great! I felt great afterward and will likely go back. In all fairness, this place does not deserve 1 star. As you can read in my original review (I was in pain, forgive the ranting) I had a bad experience on my first visit, but it should not affect poorly on this entire business. Dan called me to personally address what happened and was very concerned for my well being. He was very professional and courteous to me. What happened - I got a deep tissue massage that was too deep and far too intense for me and the results were unfortunate, and I was left in pain. Dan was truly sad to hear it had happened and invited me to come again and he will personally ensure my next visit is good. The environment was very pleasant, everyone was very pleasant, my boyfriend's relaxation massage was very pleasant for him. I asked for deep tissue massage however, and today I am a wreck. The deep tissue massage I received was overly very deep and intense on my upper head/brain/neck area and lower one half of my body. And my inner right thigh is now spasming. When she was massaging, it was so intense I was breathing through the deep intense pain I felt while massaging. That is normal for deep tissue, for it to feel intense. But I didn't realize she was hurting me. It felt kind of really intense on my skull/neck and left side and so when she moved to the other side of my mid back I asked for a little less intensity. Thank god I did or I'd be even worse off today. Today my body doesn't just feel sore from my deep tissue massage, it HURTS. My upper neck/head/base of skull area and my lower left mid back are both swollen and feel bruised, and moving around is painful. My inner right thigh area was also rubbed very thoroughly, and now it is spasming and feels like a muscle that is ready to snap. The rest of my body feels that normal kind of sore you feel after a deep tissue massage. I am a massage junkie and have had LOTS of massages in the past, and am familiar with getting deep tissue so I know this is not normal how I feel. I feel like someone beat me up :( People at BodyGood I'm sorry to have to write this negative review, because you all seemed so very nice and accommodating on my visit. My boyfriend loved his massage and we otherwise had a nice time. You should probably talk to your employee about not giving such deep tissue that it injures your clients though. read more

I have been to a dozen or more massage therapists in Seattle. I have never found one I have been happier with than Dan, the co-owner. I have neck and shoulder problems that cause me a lot of pain. He is able to work them out and I end up feeling so much better afterwards, and the relief generally lasts all the way to my next appointment a month later. He's also strong, so if you're looking for deep tissue work, this is the place to go. The entire staff is very friendly and nice to work with. They were extremely helpful when I was fighting with my pain-in-the-butt insurance coverage. The studio is pleasant, rooms are clean, and the atmosphere is relaxing. My only recommendation is to try to schedule in advance if you're looking for an appointment at a typically busy time of day, because they seem to book up pretty quickly. Can I just say how in love I am with this place? All it took was one visit to know how amazing they are and that I would for sure be back. I'm glad I looked on Yelp and read the reviews because I may not of trusted it if I just drove past it. It's in Columbia City (not that it matters but it's often crowded and not much parking available) and from the outside it looks pretty small. They have a neon sign in the window, so it wasn't that hard to see when searching for it in the evening but I had never noticed it until last night, so thank God for Yelp! :) My girlfriend and I decided to come here being they were the only massage place open late in our area that offered couple massages (seeing they had 4 stars helped, as well). They're also open 'til 9:00 pm, which is nice. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a male and female. I'm not sure if they were the owners and unfortunately I was in my own little world after having a good dinner and arriving there, so I don't remember what they said their names were. It was a white male and an Asian lady though. Mr and Mrs Fantastic! Haha. When they brought us back to the room where we'd be getting our couples massage, they let us know which bed they work on and it was our choice on who we wanted to work with so to lay down in which ever bed we want. I like that we had a choice and didn't have to tell them up front. It may be awkward if someone was asked, "Who wants the male?" Although I don't mind, I'm sure there's others that might. They let us know the male goes deeper and harder for deep tissue massage, so if we needed a lot of work he'd be the one to go to. Well, apparently I've been going to some weak massage therapist because the female did a terrific job giving me a DEEP tissue massage. She was very strong and did certain things to my shoulders and arms that have never been done before and that I could tell would make a difference. My girlfriend was next to me the whole time so I heard a lot of what was going on during her massage. The male seemed like he has been doing massage work for a very long time because he was very knowledgeable and knew of places my girlfriend most likely had pain in without her even telling him. He provided her with a lot of tips with how to better things, such as her knees. My massage therapist was pretty quiet the whole time and got the job done, so no complaints there. :) It's a pretty cute and decent place there. I was surprised at how big it was too. Very clean, comfortable beds, and they offer the same prices you'll get from an upscale spa that probably won't offer near as good of a massage as they provide. I will definitely be back! I've had a ton of massages done in the past and the level of quality and skill that they both have is quite exceptional and clearly differentiates them from the other therapists that are out there today. After getting into multiple accidents, Dan has been able to effectively treat all of the injuries from the accidents and always does exceptional work on my back and neck issues even when others are unable to. I had the misfortune of being in a car accident and my doctor referred me for a massage. I had only been going to PT prior. Body Good had recently opened up near me and Li became my MASSEUSE.
