That and their customer support team (email and phone) is VERY slow / unresponsive and a 180 from the warmth and professionalism of the techs in Union St!

There was one other person in the waiting room and they went in while I was doing the paperwork. I didn't have to wait very long and then Erik the technician came and got me. He was very professional, helpful and kind. I was done fairly quickly and was on my way home before my appointment was even supposed to start. Overall, I have no complaints.

This review isn't for the service so much as the cost. $2000 per vaginal pregnancy ultrasound, when…read morethe national average hovers around $500. I moved to SF and found out I was pregnant. I was about 8 weeks and didn't have a doctor here, so my doctor in Chicago referred me to this center for an ultrasound. I called to see if they accepted my insurance, and they said they did. On the first visit, we didn't hear a heart beat, so naturally scheduled a follow-up for the following week, at which time we did hear one. On both visits, we did not see a doctor, just the technician, who performed the vaginal ultrasound and did not give us much information. She said she would give updates to my doctor in Chicago, who then called us with information. We switched insurance right after, due to the move and new job, and I found an OB here. At the same time, I got the bill from UCSF--$2K per ultrasound, for a total of $4K. The ultrasound had a bunch of tacked on costs, like doctor's fee (I'm guessing the tech showed it to a doctor there), facility fee, etc. Insurance said they would only cover half of each, so we're paying $2K out of pocket. To make it worse, USCF doesn't have an automated monthly billing option, so I have to log in every month which reminds me (hence this review--I just made a payment!). When we went to my first OB visit, he was going to perform an ultrasound, but I hesitated and asked how much it would cost. He said even if insurance didn't cover it, the cost would be about $300. (Insurance did cover it). This is mostly FYI for those of you that may be going there for a basic ultrasound or something, to know about the additional fees that get tacked on, which your insurance may decide not to cover. We would have been better off going to a doctor's office or something without insurance and paying out of pocket, rather than a research hospital/facility that has a lot of additional fees.

The door was still locked, but a kind patient opened it for us and let us in. The front desk staff was friendly, and the check-in process was quick and efficient. Even though my mom's appointment was scheduled for later, the ultrasound technician called her in around 7:15 AM and finished the exam by 7:30 AM. The ultrasound technician was professional, friendly, and explained everything clearly while giving easy-to-follow instructions throughout the procedure. Thank you to the staff and the kind patient who helped us this morning. You made our experience smooth, easy, and stress-free. We truly appreciate it! :)

The scan didn't take very long but was a bit discombobulating since both the table and scanner move during the procedure. This can cause nausea for anyone with cochlear illness. When the printout was coming out of the machine my sales person said I had scoliosis. I wasn't totally straight on the table because I wasn't asked to. Nobody else has ever diagnosed me with this condition. So much for not diagnosing disease. She then took me to the cubicle of secrecy to tell me about a 24/7 availability of her to help me achieve my health goal of muscle gain. The only hands on portion is the monthly dexa scan. The services includes monthly scans and some set exercises you do on your own. Nobody who actually trains with you. Just a list of trainings for you to do solo. I'll pass. But I hope they will give me a high quality image of my dexa so I can submit to my doctor's office as a baseline.

Also I was fasting nothing by mouth since midnight at hospital including water, to do 1 procedure, the next day by 1om, the doctor changed mind, said the procedure cancelled.He think is easy to let people thirsty, hungry, at the end the procedure just cancelled.

I was billed for services that I had already paid for, so I telephoned the billing department on 03/02/21. I explained the situation to Linda and she could not have been less interested in helping me resolve the issue, but told me that she would "investigate" and get back to me. On 03/11/21, since I never heard a word back from Linda or anyone else with Cal Imaging, I called back for an update. Unfortunately I was again connected with Linda (maybe she's the whole billing dept.?) and she was once again very dismissive and extremely curt with me. When I tried to get an understanding of what her "investigation" revealed, she hung up on me. At the end of the day medicine is about customer service and unfortunately Linda's appalling lack of regard for patients reflects negatively on the entire organization. Because of her, I will never utilize the services of this medical group again. My recommendation to management would be to provide Linda with some much needed customer service training.

Receptionist was awesome with me and handled the stressful job very well (kudos to her!).
