Tom and his crew helped us out tremendously. It is hard to find a trust worthy mechanic let alone a human in todays society. Tom took the time to explain each issue, went over very thoroughly and patiently how I was overcharged by a previous mechanic and what he could do for my son and I. I've been going here for a short time now. I live within walking distance which is great that I am able to drop my car off and walk back home with ease. I've dealt with Tom and Charlie while I'm there and they both speak to me with respect and explain the issue with my car to me. Charlie has even brought me in back to show me the problem. I like to visually see what's going on! I feel as though they are honest and they truly care about their employees. Which brings me to my next point. I think the only downfall about this place is the fact they are not open on Saturday's and Tom does that so his employees can be home with their own families. Wow! My car was towed here late last night at the recommendation of AAA and I'm so glad! Tom and his crew were really busy so they hooked me up with a loaner car for the day and before I could even get used to the new vehicle Tom called me and told me my Prius was fixed! I was genuinely surprised and delighted at how fair the price was, how fast everything got fixed and how sweet they were at this shop. I like that Tom took the time to explain to me (car illiterate) what went wrong and how they fixed it even though it was probably obvious that I didn't understand. I'm fairy new to the area so it's nice to know that there's a mechanic in town that I will rely on should anything else go wrong with my car. read more

As I returned from my recent visit to my automobile technician, Boeser Automotive, in Savage, a disturbing thought crossed my mind. As time progresses, the days of the small business are numbered and being forced under by the larger Corporate enterprise. I thought, after many years of using Tom, at Boeser Automotive, how lucky I have been to get an honest determination and fair pricing for my auto needs. When was the last time you went to your mechanic and was greeted with a friendly hello and even more surprising the greeting using you name? Many small shops still operate in this manner. However, many shops seem to want to replace or repair so many things that I wonder why my vehicle even runs. In the case of Boeser Automotive, I get a breakdown, before the work is done, of what is needed now, and what might need to be addressed in the future.The details of the the work are explained to me as well. When I authorize the work, it is completed promptly and at the quoted cost. All to often we hear about the negative experiences, with a firm, but how many times do we hear about a GOOD experience. This is the reason for my post, a GOOD experience. If you need a good and honest automotive technician, I urge you to consider Boeser Automotive, in Savage. Bought new tires, brake rotors, and pads for my '06 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 so I went to Boeser for install. I called ahead for a quote and was told $290. Another local shop quoted $320. Both good prices. Dropped it off at 7:30am with Tom the owner. After talking with him and getting him the keys he wandered off to the back. I waited a few minutes before going out back myself and asking if we were done for now. We were; he just failed to close the conversation ("ok, I'll call you when it's done" or at least a "bye"). From the little we talked I got the impression he doesn't really know much about or even like cars. Not a "car guy". Perhaps he used to be back in the 70's. A couple hours later he calls and says my wheels & tires are too big so he'll have to send it to another place. This is annoying because I specifically told him my tire size on the phone, but whatever. Finally after 4pm my wife asks if it's time to pick up the Jeep which reminds me to call (since they didn't call me). I call and the employee says Tom was supposed to call me but he left. The Jeep had been done for a while. I pick it up and was presented a bill for $450. I was like "WTF?!" The sad employee said he has been trying to get ahold of Tom but no answer, and he couldn't do anything about the bill. I paid it and signed the receipt hugely "I'M PISSED!". I notice my Jeep now speaks French and my tire pressures are 37,40, 32, 34. That's not right. He was also supposed to test drive my car to see if the transmission is slipping. I got no word if they did this. He also couldn't install an oil catch can (popular item for modern HEMIs) but couldn't figure out where to install the 2 hoses. I called him the next morning (since he again didn't call me) to discuss all these issues. He proceeded to lie about the quoted price and deflect or ignore all the other issues. I asked for a quote for an alternator replacement. Gave me the run around bullshitting me being a smart ass telling me it could be something else. He asked me how i knew it was the alternator, I told him. He got mad and told me he doesn't do quotes and started pulling shit out of his ass, you could of just told me that in the beginning. Pulled out my alternator had it tested at autozone and it was the problem. Poor customer service doesn't get business "boeser". read more

I brought a used vehicle here to have it inspected to see if I wanted to purchase it. Everyone at Boeser was extremely friendly and they gave me a clear and understandable inspection of the vehicle and offered helpful advice. I would absolutely recommend them to others and hope to be back in state to use them as my mechanic. read more

Can I just make a sigh of relief? Car troubles really seem to stress me out maybe more than the average person. I drive a lot so when my car is out of commission (or transmission in this case) I feel like I am not able to do the things that I need to. Over the winter my check engine light came on. Later that day my car would die at every stop I made which is not convenient at stop lights in Minneapolis trafiic.....ok ok ok on to the goods. It ended up being my transmission. I was quoted $5500 from the dealership and charged $120 just to diagnose my car. I then was referred to look for ATRA Certification and call Transmission Specialists with the certification- it ensures it is a reputable repair shop, etc. (Visit their site for more details on that) Savage isnt necessarily next door to me but from the first phone conversation I had with Boeser, I was shocked by their empathy and professionalism. They understood and said they would take care of me and thats EXACTLY what they did! My transmission was fixed with a superb warranty and all of the other upcoming problems were brought to my attention in terms of safety and overall importance. I will go to Boeser for all of my auto needs from now on NO QUESTIONS ASKED! They are honest, hardworking, caring individuals and they get the job done for great pricing. I never ever do this stuff but I am so awe-struck by their honesty and integrity-- sometimes can be very hard to find with car problems!!! read more
