My new 2024 Honda Civic Type R in Championship White was brought here to resolve some paint issues. Told the dealer my concerns about potential joyriding, but it seems like the body shop didn't get the memo. Honestly, their work is excellent BUT for anyone who has a rarer and nicer than usual car, please have second thoughts about coming here. I had a few issues with how they treated my car and how they had a few hard pulls in my car without consent since the car was only in for paintwork. Read this before you sign the waiver! First of all, I want to say that much of the staff at the Burnsville location was great to work with. They were helpful, and courteous. The following review does not apply to them. After fighting with State Farm twice to let LaMettry's do the body work on my car, they repay me by leaving my car in an open lot with no cameras, no fence, and inadequate lighting. As a result, it was broken into while in their care (I use the word "care" very loosely here). After doing $7300 worth of body work on it to fix the original claim, they decided they could not cover the cost of replacing my radio that was stolen after originally leading me to believe they would. In addition, they did not make me aware of the break-in for several days or call the police until I instructed them to do so. Keep in mind that, once you give them your vehicle, you do not have the option to protect it yourself from anyone who happens to know LaMettry's lot is vulnerable and will abandon you when this happens. Here is what the waiver really should say: 1.) While we know we will require you to leave your car here for several weeks, we will not protect it in any way, from anybody, including our employees. 2.) Anyone can come on to our lot (including employees) and take/damage whatever they want and we do not care. 3.) We DO NOT have cameras on our lot to help police identify the thief. (even the police were astounded by this one) 4.) We DO NOT have a fence or adequate lighting where we store your vehicle 5.) When your car is broken into, we WILL NOT inform you for several days 6.) We WILL NOT file a police report unless you force us to. 7.) Once the waiver is signed, we will leave your vehicle vulnerable on our lot and take no responsibility for it. So... no cameras, no fence, forced to leave your car there indefinitely in an unprotected environment, will not call police unless instructed, will not cover damages or be held liable in any way.... AND, you are expected to know how vulnerable your car really is before signing the waiver when you drop off the car. read more

I backed into a tree at very low speed, damaging my bumper and tail light. I got estimates from several body shops and chose LaMettry's because I had worked with them in the past and because my dealership recommended them. While I was satisfied with the result, I was quite unsatisfied with the process. First came a rather terse email saying I was late to prepay for parts. That was the first I heard of the need to prepay. Once the work was started and bumper removed, I was told I needed to approve a 25% increase in cost to cover more labor. Clearly this additional labor wasn't necessary after finding additional issues, nor was it justified as such. I pointed out at this point, I didn't have much choice. I think they were counting on that too. A couple hours later, I received a text saying they had "moved some numbers around" and were able to cut the increase in half. When the work was finished, I was notified that the amount due was 22% over the original estimate, not the previously communicated 12% increase. When I asked for justification, they admitted the error on their end. I don't know if all body shops play these games, but if I need body work done in the future, I will try another shop to see if they do business honestly and up front. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service. When I was questioning the store representative he was only interested in the store policy and not helping me solve the problem. They had the vehicle sit for over one month in their parking lot with no one apparently trying very hard to connect with insurance. Luckily I had other vehicles available for driving so this did not cause me too much trouble. However, it seems to be a pattern for the Burnsville store to have very poor follow through and customer service. Use a different shop for your repairs. You will be happy you did. read more

My car sat for 4 days and nothing was done. Inspector was there and told multiple stories on why nothing was done and then just kept getting excuses. Finally, had to basically threaten to call the cops if they didn't get the person I needed and my vehicle ready and put back together to be picked up. Too find out nothing was even done And my car wasn't inspected or pulled apart. After more multiple stories and then finally got got the other insurance company to take liability they they screw that up and didn't give a true estimate so so the insurance company was gonna send me a check that was underpaid and probably try to screw me over if I cashed it. The lady said they had to rewrite it and inspect the damage. After all the garbage I was told I said you had the vehicle for 4 days and did nothing knew about all the other things you needed to write in on the estimate was given a list as well as called multiple times within within the 25 days before I brought it in for the appointment to be repaired. I just wasted over a month and still have a damaged vehicle. Have to start over. Bottom line, this is absolutely pathetic pathetic that the customer who paid for all these services is having to do all the work and is able to retain everything while single people cannot. read more

My bumper had to be replaced. Not only did they give me a date they would be completed, and completed on time, they called me twice during the week they had my car to give updates. I received my car back in perfect condition, including the inside being cleaned and a car wash. The manager even told me he was "sorry that it rained" because the outside wasn't as clean as they wanted it to be. Great service. Fixed my car with no issues. Cleaned the car on top of it. And kept me informed the whole time. Would go back there in a heartbeat! read more

All 3 of our cars have been worked on at the Burnsville LaMettry's. The latest was for a nuisance issue with a loose piece of molding on the rear driver's side door on my '06 Camry. This made it necessary to open the front door first and then the rear door. I took it to the shop, they took it right back told me it would be done in 15 minutes. As I walked my golden retriever around the block it occurred to me that they never gave me an estimate. When I got back they had taken care of it at no charge! They simply asked that I consider using them if/when I have more significant damage to repair. I'm completely confident referring people to this shop when the need arises. read more

I've tried contacting them several time to schedule an appointment to get my windshield fixed and when I finally got something scheduled they told me they would call my insurance and then call me back...they've done this a few times. I have a Mercedes SUV and have been recommended to use Lamettry's in the past from Feldmann Imports where I bought my car. I have had damage to my front end due to a hit and run. I had a front light replaced and some light body damage. They did a great job, very courteous, friendly, fast and responsive. I traded in my car and bought a 2022 Mercedes SUV. Someone hit me in a parking lot when their car down slammed into my passenger side mirror due to it being so windy. It hit with such force that it knocked the casing apart and caused the wiring to come undone so that my right turn signal on my mirror would not work. I took it to LaMettry's, due to being a past customer and pleased with them, to take a look and give me an estimate. Burnsville was very friendly, I called to make an appointment and they just had me come in same day and saw me immediately upon arrival. I was helped by the manager Justin. He took a look at my car and said he thought he could fix it on the spot and pop my mirror back together. I told him the wiring must also be loose due to me getting an error about my turn signal. He was gone for a few minutes, came back and said all fixed! I couldn't believe it! I asked how much and he said no charge!! I tried to pay him for his time but he said since it just took a few minutes, don't worry about it. I would recommend this place to anyone! Due to me driving a Mercedes, he could have said that I needed a whole new mirror and kept my car just to charge me. However, he was very honest and up front! I will be using them from now on and have been recommending them to everyone I know. I am not publicizing that they will do work for you for free ha but that was just my experience. At first I was impressed by their exceptional customer service, but that all changed when I received my vehicle back. First of all, my driver's door handle lock sensor wasn't properly hooked up again. Next, the driver's side front and rear doors didn't line up with the quarter panels. Finally, the paint had pin holes and looked like amateur paint quality. Note that they tried to line up the doors again, but scratched the clear coat in the process. Overall, I'm not happy at all with my experience. Considering they were recommended by the dealership, I was expecting a lot more. After experiencing terrific service at LaMattry's for a past dent, I had no reason to look for estimates when I got a new dent. The staff are kind and courteous. Estimate was clear and easy to understand. I received a call letting me know where they were in the process of the repair. When I picked up my vehicle they buffed out my hood for free, when I had estimate for and chose not to do, LaMattry's went ahead and did it for free!! If I could give them no stars ..I WOULD! SERVICE AND WORK A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT!. The quote they gave us was nothing compared to the actual cost!..Went from 1050 to 3400..actual bill was 3266..Maybe the work n service would be different if the insurance pays for it instead of private pay! I had my windshield and frame around the windshield replaced due to rust.Here to find out it was the whole roof that needed to be replaced. A job that was suppose to be 3 to 4 days took 2 weeks and a day!.They even broke my back sliding window( which was fine when i dropped the truck off!). I had to file 2 claims for glass instead of one.The customer service recetionists would lose claim numbers n messages from the tech wasnt returned. It was hard to leave a vm due to it being full!. The windshield contractor SLOPPED glue all over inside my truck n the tech doing the work said it was my NAIL POLISH!.The courtesy detailing was a JOKE!..I still had rust shards all over the interior!..I even had to return to LaMetterys to finish the work they were pd for! The windshield corner of the liner was missing and my remote control starter unit was dangling from the ceiling..I LOVE MY TRUCK!..BEST INVESTMENT I HAVE EVER MADE. I bought it brand new 2006 Toyota Tacoma when it first came out!...The Burnsville Toyota recommended them!..What a ripoff!..NEVER WILL I GO BACK TO THEM..I just thought id save someone else the trouble n heartache that i WENT thru!!!!! read more

I brought my car in to get good work done and what I got was extra money out of my pocket and my car gone for two weeks. This was all before covid19, I made an "appointment" which I thought would only be a week or so.... It was 3 weeks total!!! After having me car for two weeks they asked a question that should've been at the beginning of my scheduled appointment, "do you want us to repair or replace the bumper. I told them I wanted it so it wouldn't fall off. "Okay well we cannot guarantee...." fine, do it, my insurance is paying for my car to be the way it was. Then after it is done, I got a bill from them that wasn't covered by my insurance they claimed. I called my insurance, they told me that they would cover it had LaMettry's submitted a voucher saying what was necessary. I called them back and the "manager" returned my call days later saying that there was prior d'amante and they weren't responsible. LIARS!!! LAZY!!! CANT DO PAPERWORK!? Wow, can't say stay away enough... the extra nearly $400 was paid out of pocket to me, so thanks for a lot more money on an insurance claim. I recently wrote a review on LaMettry's auto body shop in Burnsville, Mn with a one star review on work done over four years ago. Two days later I get a call from the new manager, Chawon Clough, for this location. The old manager refused to offer any correction. Chawonn apologized for the poor paint match and customer service issue. The previous manager no longer works there I was informed. He also offered to try to do something to correct a wrong. I am about to trade the vehicle so I said let's not do a repaint. To find me, he had to go back in past records to find the repair and called me. As I indicated before, they had done other work for me and I was satisfied prior to this repaint. When a shop reaches out to correct a issue from years past says a lot. I recommend this shop now for any work as I will return for future work. I also am impressed with Chawon for reaching out to a customer who was not happy and try to make amends. Well done. read more

After the first snow this winter, I got t-boned and brought my car in to see if I could get it repaired. They worked well with the State Farm insurance of the person who t-boned me and got the work done in a matter of a couple weeks! Excellent customer service. I have used LaMettry in Burnsville for more than 10 years; referring many people to them. I trusted them with my high performance, classic vehicle on many occasions. Knowing the value and high profile of the car, they still chose to park my vehicle outside for many weeks while they were waiting on parts. The car while parked in their lot was the target of vehicle theft. The perpetrators did so much damage to the car attempting to steal it, the insurance company totaled the car. LaMettry has chosen not to take responsibility or even offer to pay for the balance of damages after the insurance company pays for the totaled amount, to get this classic, loved vehicle back in working condition. They claim to be focused on customer service. This may be true as long as it doesn't cost them any money. I would expect after many years of customer loyalty to them that they would step up and do the right thing. Do not expect your vehicle to be cared for while in their possession and if something happens to it, they will not care if your insurance premiums increase. Again, be careful in entrusting anything of value to LaMettry's of Burnsville they will will not take any responsibility, even when they made the choice to leave a high performance vehicle parked in the open with no real security. read more
