It's a small school where you get to know the staff pretty well, unlike some other preschools/daycares that make you feel like you're just one faceless number in a crowd. The only con is the location (fort lee) makes it hectic to drop off/pickup because the street turns into a 1 way and it's right across from one of the public schools so it get crowded. Our family recently went through an unexpected TERMINATION at iPlusOneAcademy with only THREE days'…read morenotice. We are heartbroken and feel deeply sorry for what our child, and the other children who were also impacted, have had to go through. The 2025 school calendar did not include a February winter break. A winter break was newly introduced in 2026, and the winter camp program was added shortly before the break, during a week that was originally scheduled to be closed according to the academy's school year calendar. More than ten parents collectively raised concerns and requested clarification from the academy regarding the basis for this decision. Subsequent to the meeting between the parents and the director, the academy implemented a new policy addendum mandating parental signatures as a prerequisite for continued enrollment. The original agreement signed in the beginning of the school year did not include any terms addressing the academy's right to amend or modify its policies. The new policy addendum imposed limitations on parents' ability to collectively voice concerns about school policies and restricted their freedom to share honest reviews online. We did not consent to the policy and did not provide our signatures. The academy issued a termination notice merely 10 days after introducing the new policy. Following receipt of the termination notice, we formally requested an in-person meeting with the director to seek clarification regarding the circumstances and explore the possibility of resolving the matter. However, all of our efforts were declined, and we were notified in writing that communication would be restricted solely to email. The academy provided us with only a 3-day notice of termination, despite its own policy requiring a 30-day notice should a family choose to withdraw voluntarily. Arranging a new childcare on such a short notice caused a significant strain for our family emotionally and physically. Our child did not have any behavioral issues at school, and no payment issues. We strongly believe that when misunderstandings or disagreements arise between parents and a school, open communication and mutual understanding should be prioritized. However, in our experience, was more of a unilateral decision by the academy. Based on our two years of experience at this academy, we believe that the focus was placed primarily on tuition and fees rather than fostering a child-centered environment. We recommend that any family considering enrollment seek feedbacks from current and former families before making a decision. We are now in our third classroom and each one has been cheerful, nurturing and supportive of learning and playing. His teacher Aneta is a dream. She's incredibly compassionate, patient, empathetic, loving and above all genuine. There is no one else like her and my son loves her truly. She's the only one who calls me if my son has an accident or isn't feeling well. She keeps me in the know always. I thoroughly appreciate the care and her positivity toward my son and everyone around her. Her people skills are incredible. The past 2 weeks I've been receiving emails requesting feedback on the staff. Today there is a need to write this review ...I'm sad I have to write it. This week has been difficult trying to find childcare for my daughter for spring break. Bright Horizons has been notifying me there is no placement in my area. Imagine my surprise when I saw Lightbridge Academy- Westwood pop up as placement. I was thrilled since my son goes there it would be perfect to have my daughter there for 4 days for 4hrs a day. I spoke to the assistant director this morning and told her I was surprised they were listed as a center. I told her I submitted a request for my daughter for the following week..and asked if she could confirm my daughter can be at the same center as my son. She said she'd look into it. I said do you mind letting me know sooner rather than later since it's Friday and I need to lock in childcare for my daughter..her response "I'll look into it" ..I was thinking to myself ..wouldn't she say "of course" and try her best to assist especially since my son already is enrolled at this academy for several months...As I turned to leave, I said to her again do you mind letting me know by 3pm ET today. and her response "I'll look into it... I already knew my daughter was not going to be taken at this center for the 4days with Marisa's lack of enthusiasm and her apparent annoyance at my request. I'm truly disappointed in Marisa. As a working mother like herself..I wish in that moment she put herself in my shoes but instead I didn't leave the building yet..and her and her colleague at the greeters window were talking about me behind my back. Who I am is a mother who needed help for 4 days- for 4 hrs per day ...and instead of trying to accommodate a parent who already has one of her child enrolled at their center...Marisa called me and told me sorry we don't have placement. (There was NO surprise there) ...I told her I was already notified by Bright Horizons. I told her I'm disappointed and it's unfortunate..she apologized she couldn't do anything ...I have worked with Bright Horizons for over 7years ..accommodations could be met especially for a parent who has a child already enrolled in the center. That's who they accommodate first (siblings). Marisa said it's nothing personal. I hope she understands my review is not personal. I wish they had more Aneta's in the world ..and above all I wish there were more Aneta's at Lightbridge Academy-Westwood. The world would certainly be a happier, friendlier, kinder place.

But it was our children's response that really informed our decision to apply as they were eager to spend more time with everyone they met that evening and excited to learn more about the school. Fast forward to today and we couldn't be happier with the decision that we made. Pine Street School truly supports the whole child: the curriculum is rigorous and engaging, and we visibly see how they are preparing our children to go out and make a difference in the world. Students go on more field trips than any other school I've encountered - they really make sure that they have an opportunity to go out and experience the world. It is apparent that the thoughtful approach to learning supports the development of our children intellectually, emotionally, and socially and we couldn't be more pleased. And they continue to impress us and exceed our expectations, especially during this unprecedented time where our children need more love, support and consistency than ever; they are the only school that I know of that offers 4.5 hours of synchronous learning each day while school is physically closed due to social distancing! Incredible! They have managed to maintain the academic standards and preparation that we've become accustomed to during this challenging time: it doesn't get more committed than that.
