Underwhelming Grooming Service, Not Even Sure My Dog Looked Clean I've been using dog grooming services for several years. I generally used to have it done at the doggie day care that I used to bring my dogs to (stopped doing that after they kept getting worms), so I was looking for a new place. I have used Bogart's Bone Appetit several times, but have been generally dissatisfied every time the dogs returned from there. First, the dogs didn't smell clean. Second, the coats did not look groomed after I paid for the service. Third, my dog would continue to "boot scoot", which made it appear that Bone Appetit did not do the anal glands. Fourth, the nails were never clipped. In that light, I had to find a new groomer. Although I paid for the clean and tidy, the groomers at Bone Appetit really didn't do those services. Having prior experience from other dog groomers, I constantly would ask my wife if she only paid for a bath and brush. Finally, being fed up, we switched to Lazy Dog and I can't give high enough recommendations. I will never use Bone Appetit for grooming services again. I'm giving it 2 stars because the staff there are generally polite, but it is overpriced and underwhelming. read more

We have been going to this establishment for 2 years. We have not had any issues until recently. Due to the decline in quality both in physical facility and customer service, we decide to take our business elsewhere. The last 2 visits, we have been told that they ran out of shampoo and conditioner for the self wash eventhough the self wash price includes supply of shampoo. The staff offered me to buy shampoo from their retail store instead of providing them as advertised for self wash services. They told me that they have told the manager to order more shampoo but they are not sure when they will be getting it. Their towels have gotten worn out, over used, old and ripped. More over, the wall are dirty and the base boards are falling off the wall. Overall, this store is going down and they dont seem to care. read more

My dog was injured by the groomer. Cut toe nail too short and split the nail. Resulted in a bad infection which could not be resolved with antibiotics. Had to have a toe amputated. Groomer never informed me of the split mail. read more

Self wash for 11.99! That's a great deal and it came with everything you need. I have a big dog who is 80 lbs and I don't have a yard to wash her in at home, so I had to find another option. I prefer to groom her myself instead of paying a groomer...this shop was perfect for us..it looked like they had a nice selection of pet supplies. DON'T TRUST THIS PLACE! I'm so disgusted it is hard not to cry right now. When you bring a member of your family to the groomer you are trusting in their skill and love for pets. Our dog seemed okay when we picked him up from the groomer at Bogarts Bone-Appetit in Southern Highlands but when we inspected him further we noticed red bloody spots all over his body. Although they paid for his vet bill and "will check with the owner for a full refund" my disgust will not disappear. Its not about the money. Our poor dog was helpless. I've been to Bone-Appetit at least 5 times before for pet grooming so I had no reason to be worried. I just feel so awful. I'll never let anyone touch my pets without my full supervision again. The first time i took my babies here for furcut was 5 star but they were both clean, smelling fresh and the furcut was great but the 2nd time i brought my baby here she got red spots on her neck and they nicked her skin. My baby was hurting the whole night. My dad was the one who brought her to them coz i was working and when he picked her up he didn't notice the deep wound, he just noticed it after they got home. When I pulled this business up to review I noticed how many negative comments there are. I can't comment on the grooming, but I decided to check this place out for dog treats. The treats are reasonably priced. Only a couple bucks depending on what you want. The workers there were friendly too, as I walked through the store multiple people asked if I needed help. I was in a hurry so I didn't get to take a picture of prices, but I took a picture of the treats. So far so good .. let's see if my dogs like them !! read more

Bone Appetit so sweetly provided coupons to our rescue where we got our new pup Mater from. Which was our first time being in there and everyone was SO nice and helpful. We decided to book our three older dogs, Wendy, Tinkerbell, and Ellie for grooming with them. After booking I looked at reviews and was a little nervous but figured we would still give them a chance because I had a hard time believing the reviews after our first experience. I am glad we did! Our pups cuts looked so good and they did exactly as we asked, which we normally struggle with from other groomers. Our oldest is 15 and it is safe to say she is a little on the difficult and grouchy side and they handled her so well and still gave her the best cut she has had in years! I would give this Bogart's ZERO stars but I did not see that as an option. Almost nothing has a price on it in the store. When I asked the woman at the register about it she told me that the prices for everything are changing so rapidly that they cannot put the prices on the shelves. I asked her how I would know how much something cost and she said I would have to bring it up to the register. That does me no good when I'm browsing. And how do I know if they're just making up prices on the spot or not? I picked up two cans of food that had a price on the shelf. They were supposed to be $2.99 each. They rang up for $3.99 each. I asked her if she would honor the price on the shelf. She told me no, and that it was the owner's policy. We've been getting our pups groomed here for some time now, and we've been super pleased with their cuts every time! Definitely recommended to show a photo if you're looking for a specific look, and they do their absolute best to get it right. Grooming can be stressful for our fur-babies, but they are well taken care of here, pretty fast with the services, and they are rewarded with soft, baked treats upon check-out! Horrible experience and 5 years down the drain. I had an scheduled appointment at 1 PM. I called them at 12:00PM to let them know I would be late and to see if they had any other times available. They told me no other times but it would be fine to be late as long as I get there between 1 and 1:30. I called at 1:27 to let them know I was arriving in 2 minutes and they confirmed again that it was ok. I arrived at 1:30 and they denied the service!! They told me to wait 10 min for the manager to get off lunch. After she got off lunch she looked at me and then went to the back room and told one of the co workers to call the owner. The owner gets on the phone and proceeds to tell me it's not her problem but it's my fault and I should not have showed up late. What I explained to the owner was that I was proactive about it and called earlier about being late and to confirm that it would be ok because I live 40 minutes away. My dog has been going to bogarts for almost 5 years and all the other Bogarts are fully booked until May so I had to go to this one which is fine because my dog loves the groomers there. But no wonder they all keep leaving. The owner then continues to proceed and tell me it's not her problem and that she see no need to look into the matter. That lady was so condescending and so unwilling to find a solution. The only thing she suggested was a reschedule after she argued with me for 5 min about how I was in the wrong. We've consistently taken our 4 dogs there for grooming since they opened. Buy all our dog and other animal food there. Buy all shampoos, supplies from there. Treats from there. We bought sweaters and yes it says no refunds. They literally disintegrated in two hours for older dogs who just lay on the couch. By that, I mean the sweaters unraveled from every angle. We tried to take them back. Lady at counter said you just bought them yesterday that's bad. She went to ask the manager and he said they can't sell products another dog has worn. No refunds. Seriously??? They are in shreds. No one would buy them. He refused to come out and even talk to us. They are selling poor quality products and manager wouldn't even come look at them. 2 sweaters. $60. I get that you can't return them for just any reason but these are clearly defective. We bought new ones from pet smart $10 each and almost a week later they are still intact. Worst management I've seen, if you can't even come out to talk to a customer. It was ok, I had asked for my dog to be shaved and they used a 1" razor. I told them that I asked for a shave and they said oh sorry!!

My dog Nico used to hate grooming and some groomers would tell us in the past that he would bite for his feet! Recently since we been taking him to Bogarts with Andrea he has been happy to go see her and no longer bites for grooming and looks amazing. We've been taking our toy poodles here for over two years & every time they do such an amazing job on their cuts. Always clean & even and exactly how we request them. The entire staff is great with every dog. Weekends are really busy for grooming so we take our pups on the weekend bc it's a lot calmer for the older one. I have been coming to this place probably about 8 months now. We recently got a German Shepherd and being that they shed a lot we need to take him in. Last time I took him and my fiancé picked him up and took him home he realized they did not cut his nails. I had called because it is frusturating considering that is one of the MAIN reasons we take him to get groomed. They informed me that he was too hyper and not capable of getting them cut and that they needed extra help and my fiancé could have helped.... Yet they failed to advise us that they had an issue to begin with. It took me calling them and complaining for them to tell me. I eventually ended up going back because it is convenient distance from my house. We ended up taking him today where I had an apt for bath and tidy and de-shed. I got a call saying he was done and that again they could not clip his nails. When we picked him up today we were told we just got the bath n tidy and not the de-shed. I advised them that I specifically asked for it, the guy who did his grooming said that Zeus was not shedding and he did not have any hair to take off. Basically lying to my face considering he sheds all day everyday and that was why we brought him in.. to get a DESHED. I won't be coming back here again. They failed to clip his nails once again as well as not even doing the service I had made an appt for. I'm confused what type of grooming place does not clip the dogs nails. That is a main reason people bring there animals to get groomed. Basically this place did nothing except lie to me when I asked why they didn't do the de-shed. Do not recommend. read more

They have a separate area if you want to bath your oversized pets. They also have a groomer named Joey that grooms their pits and show pits including the larger breeds. Our pups smells and looks good every time we pick them up from grooming. The store is well kept and clean. They have a good program - buy 10 dog food, and get 1 free! Also, make sure to call in to check if they have your dog food in stock before going there because sometimes, they are out of stock and takes a couple of days to re-stock. Hate writing this as I have been a customer for over 10+ years, even back when they were in the small shop in the same shopping center. But I recently took my dog who has been there no less than 3 times a year for 10 years and she has always received a decent to really good groom and cut. Until this particular time. I am not sure if they are getting unqualified groomers or if this is just a 1 time situation (which is why I feel bad). But the real reason I am writing this is to inform people to not tip the groomers til you actually see quality of grooming that your dog received. I paid by card prior to seeing the dog and they ask if you wanna add tip and of course I always do but seriously regretted this time as it was an awful uneven groom job. I still recommend you give them a chance but just don't tip til after you see your dog. read more

They really stepped up their staff. Nobody seemed to know what anyone was doing and it was all messy. But now there's the same girl up front all the time when we go in, I can't remember her name, but she has clear glasses and tattoos and she is amazing! She is patient, informative, helpful and very polite. She doesn't talk to us like we're idiots when we don't understand something and she kindly explains anything to us if we ask her. Then we took her back and the second session was worse. She came out with her eye damaged and they didn't bother to tell us that anything went wrong till we went back in. I've brought my golden doodle here to be groomed 3 times. First 2 times were fine but this last time was absolutely horrible. Paid $65 for a bath and trim and got my dog back with a horrible hack job. The groomer immediately tried to say he was a biter ( he's never bitten anyone and I never had complaints from the previous groomers) but if he was nipping it was probably because she was being rough and giving him a garbage hair cut!! His nose is totally irritated from where she cut a huge patch of hair off and when I got home I noticed his belly was all patchy. Husband called to let the manager know of the situation but she just said sometimes the groomers and the dogs don't "vibe". Such a disappointing response and definitely feel like they overcharged us. No offer for any type of compensation or anything that would have made us feel comfortable with taking our fur baby back. Don't take your dog here!
