Well I was very hopeful based on other yelp reviews, but I'm sorry to say I hate my haircut. Went to Kenny as he was recommended for short hair. Showed him a picture, he agreed the cut was perfect for me. The cut I got was awful. There are patches that are way shorter than other areas and not by design. It's way shorter on top than I wanted. It's not like you can stop someone once they've started cutting. I'll be wearing a hat in public for a month till it grows out. How bad is the cut I got? So bad I drove home sobbing, a first, and called off from work the next day. The embarrassment of showing up with a shockingly short, ugly cut was too much. It had NO resemblance to the chin length cut I showed the stylist (which the stylist agreed it would be a perfect cut for my face shape and hair texture). BE CAREFUL OF BAIT AND SWITCH/FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!! This review is for ONLY @hairbydaniellerose or Danielle or Dani on Instagram. First, she had a promotion saying that she had 50% off of blonde services. So I sent her a picture (the second picture, Pinterest) and was quoted for $160. I had a budget because of this pandemic and got laid off from work and said my budget was $100. She then sent me the third picture and said I could do this for $100. I agreed and booked my appointment. The hair salon was nice, spacious, and is very clean. When I sat down and opened her mouth and instantly, I knew it was going to be a disaster. She first kept saying that I can only do a partial balayage for your budget, which she didn't clearly state in our Instagram chat. If I knew it was going to be partial, I wouldn't have come. It was my first time bleaching my hair, so I didn't know there was an option between partial or all. I can tell she kept trying to push me to get the $160, but I wouldn't budge, so she decided to let it go. She said it so loud and tried to shame in front of everyone because I didn't upgrade. She then kept lecturing about purple shampoo and trying to upsell it. I knew about purple shampoo, but I was going to get it on my own. She told me, "you're only getting $100 worth of services." But I thought to myself, wasn't the deal was $200 worth of services??? So she basically did a BAIT AND SWITCH on me. This is clearly a FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!!!! So you're telling me that $200 is for this partial balayage??? She kept trying to talk to me and asking personal questions like if I had a boyfriend/girlfriend, which I found very unprofessional. I was quiet most of the time and responded very vaguely because I like it when someone is doing a service for you; I like them to focus on their work. She then teased my hair for the bleach, and it was PAINFUL! I flinched a few times, but she didn't seem to care. Everything was rough, from washing my hair to combing my hair and drying it with a towel. I thought my hairline was going to recede when she did it so rough. She blew dry my hair and kept burning me. I flinched, but she still blew on that spot. She brushed my wet and vulnerable hair without using her other hand to hold onto my hair. It was painful, brushing through all that clumpy wet hair. Another painful time was when she is combing near my bangs, I leaned a little to the front because of her toughness, and she used her four fingers (picture below) to push my head. (Very rude) You can notice my left and right side of my hair is uneven and was not blended nicely. My left side had more bleach, and I have a patch on the top, left side of my head. (I circle it on the picture. On my right side, she was speeding through it, probably to make up the lost time that she spent talking instead of working, and that is why my left side had more bleach than my right. (She told me it would take 1 and a half hour, but she spent two hours total, which I told her I didn't mind and I wasn't in a hurry). She did two money pieces for the front of my hair, which was the only thing that I liked. The color was okay. For the back of my hair, there was barely any bleach and except only little lines. She spent so much bleach on the front and sides that she didn't have enough for the back. I also notice that when my hair was done and during the blow drying portion, She never let me look in the mirror because she knew some of the section was bad. She blow-dry and curled my hair without letting me look because she was trying to cover the mistakes. When I finally looked, I was disappointed. The small patch was the first thing I notice, but I didn't complain because I didn't want to be there any longer. Initially, I would tip her more than 20%, but as the service kept going worse, I just gave her 10%. Even after the bad hair, I would still be fine, giving her a decent tip, but her service and attitude were mind-boggling. She tried to tell me to come back again to do the bottom portion, but I was like never again in my head. I'm so glad I didn't do the $160 because I would have been bald by the time I was done from her harsh service. Overall, her service was bad, her work was okay, but I would never go to her again. read more

Go to DiDi y'all. She is awesome. 5 Stars for her because she's in a league of her own. So here's the jist of it.... Went in last week for a balayage. Had dark hair... wanted blonde and lots of shaggy layers. Got a different person doing my hair. Didn't do anywhere in the ballpark of what I wanted. Chopped off so much of my hair and I still ended up being a brunette. Spent 5 hours and $200 later just to come out with practically the same color I came in with. It just didn't work out. Not much has change. Waste of a day since I only get one day off from work a week. My family and friends couldn't even tell that I just got my hair done. There wasn't any difference in color. Was very unhappy. Especially after $200. But I didn't feel the need to be rude about it or hurt anyone's feelings. I figured worse case scenario, I'd never come back here again. BUT LUCKILY, DiDi and some of the staff caught on and called me the next day offering to fix it at no charge. I was so relieved because this Yelp review could have gone the other way and I would have turn this into a Stephen King novel. Needless to say, DiDi did a wonderful job with what she could. She gave me more depth and dimensions to my hair. She listens and she's attentive. Will just stick to her now. She's great! read more

Omg, Kenny changed my life. I've only had 2 out of maybe 18 stylists actually have me saying months later "I HAVE TO GO BACK." Most of the time you're just like 'eh, that did the job.' but Kenny was magic. I've never played with my hair so much. Kenny's the best! Originally went in to chop off 7 inches of hair but ended up getting the perfect color melt and long bob just in time for summer. So glad I did! This was the best cut and color I've had in a while. Kenny really knows what he's doing, and also super fun to talk to (and patient!) Pricing was reasonable considering how much time I spent here (6 hours!) and after he was patient enough to follow my request for a less blonde/ more caramel colored melt.
