Well as a member of the…read moreSavvi Formalwear network, they fitted all 6 of my groomsmen plus my dad and brother-in-law, free of charge, and with quality and detail. The wedding was in California so I went with a local Tux shop in Torrance, CA, who told me my NJ groomsmen could and should get fitted at any Savvi Formalwear member in the country, as they knew best how to fit and measure them. I did a web search and found Sarno and Son in Rockaway. I told them I had a lot of guys to get fitted so I scheduled an appointment with them. I went with my guys on a Saturday morning and the employee there happily fitted all my guys. He not only took measurements, he had them try on sample dress shirts, pants and jackets to confirm the measurements. If you needed a neck extender, he wrote it down. If you wanted a tighter fitting shirt to show off your physique, he wrote it down. He filled out the form I gave him for each guy and he handed them to me when he was done. He was such a nice kid, I gave him a nice tip. If I ever were to rent a tux from a place in NJ, this would be the place. While I was waiting for my friends to get fitted, I browsed their book of tuxes, and they even had camouflage tuxes! Oh yeah! P.S. After you make all your friends come here for a fitting, bring them over to nearby Morris Tap and Grill for some craft beer!

I discovered that the seam on my pants had a 2 inch opening in the inner seam on the right leg of the pants. I received an email at 11:00 am on the day the tux had to be returned to remind me about returning the tux. I showed up at the store at opening time (12:00) and had to wait 20 minutes for the worker (in dirty pants) to open the store. When I questioned him as to why they didn't open on time, he said he had to attend a sweet 16 party the night before! Really? I had a wedding the night before! How about taking your job seriously and getting to work on time! I will look for a different store if I need to rent a tux in the future. Poor customer service!

For my senior prom, I went here to get my tuxedo and I wanted it to be perfect. To ensure I got everything right, I asked Mr.Zemo if I could try on a couple different jackets and shirts. Every single time I asked for a new one, he groaned and acted like it was so physically taxing to take a jacket off the rack. Isn't that your job? Why should you make the customer feel badly for wanting to try on other options? At one point he even said to me, "the faster you try on the jacket the faster you get out of my store". Dude, I understand acting a bit offensive as part of a gag, but Mr.Zemo continuously crossed the line as it got to a point where I genuinely felt like he didn't want my business. I kept my composure throughout the entire experience which was hard because he was getting on my nerves, and I made sure I was respectful, but I was just interrupted with "WHAT?" Or some other bitterness. The quality of the tux itself was good, aside from some broken buttons on the shirt sleeve. In my opinion, I just regret giving this business my money because Mr. Zemo does NOT deserve it. Go to someone who is kind and willing to help rather than an old man who complains at every given opportunity.

Since I was leaving town the next day for my son's wedding, I called the store again on May 28. They still did not have it. I asked if the tuxedo could be shipped directly to the hotel where the wedding was being held, and the store agreed. On May 29, while checking with the hotel about the shipment, I received a text message from the store stating that my tuxedo was ready for pickup. I called to verify and was told that my tuxedo was indeed at the store. The package sent to the hotel arrived later that day. Because of wedding events and the rehearsal dinner that evening, I did not open it until the morning of the wedding. Unfortunately, it was not the tuxedo I had ordered and it did not fit. After learning that my actual tuxedo was still at the store, I requested that it be shipped overnight to another address. I was assured it would arrive before the wedding. Instead, it arrived later that afternoon, after the wedding photos had been taken and the ceremony had already begun. In the end, I received two tuxedos, neither of which I was able to wear. I returned both and was ultimately given a refund. This experience was deeply disappointing given the importance of the occasion. This was my son's wedding day--a once-in-a-lifetime event for our family. Unlike many other situations, there was no opportunity to reschedule, repeat the day, or recreate the moments that were missed. The wedding photos will last a lifetime, and unfortunately they serve as a lasting reminder of what should have been a simple and reliable part of the day. For customers renting attire for a wedding or other time-sensitive event, reliability is just as important as fit. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage having a backup plan in place well before the event.

I was told by the owner, Jon, to bring him in a few weeks before the event for a fitting -- which I did. At that time, Jon confidently assured me everything would be "perfect." He made it seem like he was the only person in the city capable of making this tux look good. When I called back for the second fitting, I was told to just pick up the tuxedo. That was the beginning of the disaster. I got it home to discover the pants wouldn't even close, and the shirt sleeves were FOUR inches too short on each arm. I called immediately, and they told me to bring him back in -- which I did, trusting they'd fix it. Instead, they sent my 5-year-old home looking like he raided a clown's closet. The replacement tuxedo had a shirt down to his knees, pants comically baggy, and a jacket hanging off his shoulders like he was playing dress-up. The sleeves were now so long, they rolled them up and pinned them with cufflinks. Seriously. This tuxedo is an embarrassment, and the service is worse. I paid $250 to rent this joke of a tuxedo, and when I called to express how unacceptable the situation was, Jon refused to do anything about it. No refund. No apology. Just arrogance. I found a perfectly fitting tuxedo at Macy's for half the price. Save your money, your time, and your sanity. This place is a scam dressed up in false promises and ill-fitting jackets. I wouldn't trust them to dress a scarecrow. Run the other direction.
