    Exotic Envy Reptiles

As a reptile aficionado of many decades, usually reptiles in pet shops make me sad. Even most so…read morecalled "specialty" reptile stores. Tiny filthy cages, sick animals, and employees who know absolutely nothing (but won't hesitate to give out incorrect advice) is the norm. Not so at Exotic Envy! Stopped in for my 1st visit today and was so pleasantly surprised. They have a unique assortment of animals (not just ball pythons and bearded dragons). Everything is immaculately clean. I mean 100% spotless. All animals were housed appropriately according to their species requirements, as opposed to the typical pet store who acts like substrate/lighting/humidity/UV/etc are one size fits all. All animals had live insects and/or fresh veggies (whichever was appropriate for their species) not those god awful pellet foods that should be banned. Signage on the cage was truthful. Said things like "fragile species- display animal only. Shouldn't be handled." and several monitors and tegus were truthfully labeled "Bites!" Shows you that Exotic Envy is more interested in finding the right home for their animals then in making a quick sale. So many reptile shops will tell you their tegus/monitor/iguanas are "puppy dog tame" and then some unsuspecting person takes it home and loses a finger. Google "iguana bite" if you don't believe me. Exotic Envy was such a great experience. Most definitely the best reptile store in the Atlanta area. Would enthusiastically recommend. Oh, inverts aren't my thing, but if they're yours, they had a wide selection of those too. 100% worth the visit

But unfortunately I can't remember his name. But he shared his knowledge and opinions on things we should look for in an enclosure and everything else we might need. We were allowed to handle a couple of the ones they do have. Even though we didn't make a purchase at this time, this will be the place we do it from. Was even told by the owner that they could also special order us one if there was a specific color of dragon we were looking for.

I would strongly caution anyone considering boarding their pets at Regal Beagle in Dallas, GA…read more When I dropped off my two puppies, I was quoted a total price of approximately $429 for their stay. However, when I returned to pick them up, I was presented with a bill of nearly $600. When I questioned the difference, the employee who assisted me at drop-off acknowledged that multiple prices had been discussed but could not remember the exact amount she quoted when I made the decision to board my dogs. Rather than taking responsibility for the confusion or attempting to resolve the situation reasonably, management and several staff members came out and insisted that I pay an amount that was significantly higher than what I had been quoted. The interaction quickly became confrontational and unprofessional. The manager was rude, dismissive, and even threatened to call the police because I did not want to leave without my dogs while trying to understand why I was being charged hundreds of dollars more than expected. Businesses that care about their customers should honor quoted prices or at least work toward a fair resolution when there is a clear discrepancy. Instead, I was met with hostility and a complete lack of customer service. Based on my experience, I found the pricing practices misleading, the staff unprofessional, and management unwilling to take accountability. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend leaving your pets in the care of this facility.

UPDATE - I really, really love this place…read more Today - I went to PetSmart and Petco because they're closer to my contract gig. And neither store had refills for Gizmo's new favorite toy (PetSafe Busy Buddy Bristle Bone). To get to Pet SuperMarket, I have to drive past my home - and I didn't want to waste a trip - so I called - and the friendly employee who answered the phone actually checked and confirmed that they sold both the toys and the refills! (Unlike some places who will tell you they are going to check for a product and just leave you on hold forever.) The fact that they are a much smaller store than PetSmart and Petco - yet still manage to have a more diverse inventory / greater selection - AWESOME! And there was an employee, cute young bearded ginger, who spent nearly 30 minutes with me - acommpanying me to various sections and answering all my questions about various items. I felt like royalty. Keep up the good work Pet Supermarket! ********************************************* Of all the pet stores I've gone to since getting a new furry roommate - I have to say I think this one is my favorite. It's tiny compared to some of the other 'chains,' but the staff is just soooo knowledgeable and helpful. And they remembered Gizmo after just one visit.

I am extremely disappointed with the grooming experience my dog had with Sydney at Petco…read more My dog was injured during her grooming appointment and sustained a cut serious enough that she had to be taken to a veterinarian and receive stitches. Thankfully, she is okay now, and I do appreciate that Petco covered the veterinary expenses. What is most concerning to me, however, is the explanation I was given about how this happened. I was told that my dog was moving on the grooming table, allegedly tried to bite the groomer, and that Sydney flinched, resulting in my dog being cut. That explanation does not align with my experience with my dog whatsoever. She has been groomed by different people before and is accustomed to being handled and groomed. She does not bite, and I have never experienced behavior from her that would make me expect something like this. I contacted the store because I wanted to understand exactly what happened. I wasn't looking for an argument--I simply wanted a clear and honest explanation of how my dog ended up needing stitches while in their care. Unfortunately, I never received the promised callback. The fact that my dog was injured badly enough to require stitches is concerning on its own. The lack of a satisfactory explanation and the failure to follow up afterward makes the experience even more troubling. I am grateful that my dog is okay and that the veterinary bill was covered, but that does not erase what happened or the lack of communication afterward. I would strongly encourage anyone considering grooming here to think carefully about whether they are comfortable leaving their pet in this groomer's care.
