Came here while waiting on a table reservation at a local restaurant and decided to grab a few treats for my dog. Thought that wouldn't take long but there was no one checking people out. There were 5 people in line and no associate came to help for like 5 minutes so we had to leave the treats and go because our table was ready. A bit disappointing. read more

I can't say enough good things about Chris the groomer at this location. He was so friendly with me and my two dogs. Two older chihuahua/weenie mixes can be a handful but he handled them gracefully and gave me an overview of everything that would be done. And when I came back to pick them up he told me all about their behavior. I will be bringing them back. read more

Vetco Clinic - took my 3 dogs to Vetco/Dallas Hwy for their annual visit and specifically told the vet tech two required Simparica Trio, but was given two separate prescriptions, neither are what I asked for. One dog did get a written prescription with 0 months and 0 refills! Called Petco and explained the issue, after explaining 3 times to the same person, was transferred to Vetco. Explained to the Vetco support again and she said for me to go back to Vetco and explain to the vet, and the vet will make the correction to the prescription but I needed to make an appointment. I went online and had to schedule another appointment a week later and appts are only on the weekend. Did not take the pups because it was explained I just need to see the vet and explain the problem considering this will be 1 week from their checkup. The vet on duty would not write the CORRECT prescription without seeing the pets, evidently the vet that gave the vaccinations the week prior is incompetent. She wants to see my 3 dogs before she will give a prescription. This whole process has been a complete cluster and I guess I'm back to scheduling 3 appts again in order for the prescription to be written CORRECTLY, since the vet tech enter the wrong prescription! As a note, make sure you check your receipt and prescriptions are correct before you leave the clinic! Now the dogs will be 3 was late with their monthly meds. read more

No one was at the registers, waited 10 mins before I could find anyone to ask if there's a cashier. That person calls for one and took another 5 mins meanwhile there's a line of customers waiting to get checked out. Terrible service! Top it off, they don't provide bags for your items and if you want one they charge an extra .10 cents per bag. No where does it say that they are environmental conscious store. Won't be back! read more

My Bichon Frisé Kane Well not happy at all I took my dog to get a hair cut nails trim well the works told them not to cut his body short a Bichon Frisé hair cut when I got him he looks like a llama I almost cry he didn't even smell good and they had the never to charge $79.00 Ridiculous! never again! I just left Petco on Dallas Hwy to drop my dog. Grooming manager went on the attack because we were a few minutes late. I told her I left a message to inform her we would be late and she continued the nasty words. Told me I was banned. Terrible customer service and I would not trust leaving my loved one with a place like that. What are they doing when you leave your precious animal with people like that. Think twice before going there. read more

Will never use this store again... we went in to buy Dog food, cat food, ferret food and cat litter.. totaling over 150.00 Last we go to the fish where we were getting my younger son a gold fish (36 cents) the employee ALYSSA comes over (Long blonde hair with purple in it and glasses) we tell her we would like 1 gold fish. She starts asking about our set up etc we explain it's a 10 gallon tank etc. we just had a gold fish for 3 months that died (mind you 36 cents for these goldfish) she start arguing with us and being so disrespectful refusing to get the fish out saying she was not comfortable selling us a gold fish that was going in that type of tank and she feels bad for the little goldfish (as there are multiple dead ones in the tank) she continues to argue and be so disrespectful with us with many customers now standing around, so I ask her to get the manager, she says the manager is going to tell you the same thing and refuse to sell it as well.. Manager AMICHI comes over and right off the bat starts arguing telling us she is just concerned for the goldfish and she feels bad for them, and doesn't want the fish to die (again these are feeder fish) All good and dandy but they are feeder fish that people get to feed other fish to start off with.. he continues to argue with us. Another customer walks by and says he was going to purchase a 14.00 dollar fish but because of the way the employee and manager acted because of a goldfish/feeder fish that's 36 cents, he would take his business else were.. so because of the manager and the employee they definitely lost 2 customers one who spends a lot of money on food there and another customer which said he will also call corporate and will shop else were over a 36 cents goldfish for a 4 year old child! We have never had trouble before at this store, we bought our ferrett from this store as well as hundreds of dollars of fish for my older sons 60 gallon tank. Very disappointed read more

For years and with 2 dogs I have been bringing to this location to get groomed. Paperwork questions, up to date vaccines, etc, never once an issue. Today(4/7 @3p), the groomer on staff was rude from the get go and generally lacked customer service skills altogether. Really disappointing because every other staff member I've ever encountered at this location has been great but I won't be back for anything. read more

There is something seriously wrong with Petco. They are unapologetically ignorant to what is happening and gets their animals from Marshall's who is apparently well known for animal abuse. We purchased the sweetest most loving baby albino girl ferret on Good Friday. We saw she slept a lot but thought nothing of it since the associate said they sleep tons. Fast forward this Holiday weekend we noticed she was lethargic, wouldn't eat and had discolored nose and pads of paws. After spending the night in the animal hospital we were told it was a rash and some skin infection. Next day she had her first dose of meds. I got a call soon after I got to work from my worried husband who told me she was wheezing and started bleeding from the mouth and then finally said she passed. I was hysterical. The vets at The animal hospital the night prior said it was viral and sent her back home. Mind you that Bill was almost 600. Then she passed the next morning. We are waiting on the results from the necropsy but was told she had thickened skin and blood in her lungs consistent with a chronic (meaning long lasting). My boy Moonpie started seeming off, maybe it was paranoia but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I took him to the vet and the same rash was present but not as bad (Thank God.) That bill was just over $600 including the necropsy. Petco said that if we brought her to them they would have performed the necropsy..as if I trust them to be honest at this point. The vet also found ear mites that (as I was told) were there since before I had him. Do I expect Petco to pay me back 100%?NO. But it sure would be nice if they did since we are under all this undue stress and sadness. My son doesn't quite understand. $1500 and being without my baby and all they want to do is pass the blame and responsibility. I was appalled at the way the manager acted when I explained. It literally made me think of the hippies we see in movies all stoned. Never again. Oh and one week later and no call back. Color me surprised.. read more

Reading several other reviews I want to state that it's up to the pet owner to do research about their pet and how to best take care of them and to check the accuracy of any advice given by employees of any pet store. With my expectations not being to high I enjoy shopping here. The employees are always friendly and my dogs enjoy walking around and getting attention from some of the workers. The space for puppy playtime is very small and there's a waiting list to bring your dogs so I find the dog park preferable. read more

The employees here are very knowledgeable about animals, and very helpful. I have come in multiple times and been helped by ALYSSA. She is super knowledgeable about fish and will take the time to talk to you and make sure that your tank set up is good for the type of fish you have. She helped me figure out that the tank I had my goldfish living in was too small, and that I needed a bigger one. From talking to her you can tell she really has a heart for animals, and wants to help the customers as best as she can. I am so happy with her help and the petco brand as a whole. read more

I never believe in writing a review for a service or a good that was provided once. It kind of kills because everything is always great the first time around. This particular PETCO has definitely deserved 5 stars through and through. Considering all of the other places I have visited since I moved here this is by far the best experience. After spending a ton of $$ at a few different grooming spots around the area, we finally decided to try Petco. I was so pleasantly surprised at the incredible job they did on our sweet dog Ellie. They talked with me about what was available and what they planned to do before taking her back. They listened to everything we said and treated our concerns with care. Rae was our stylist and you can tell she has a wonderful way with animals. We are so grateful we gave Petco a try. We will be regulars now! The quality of service is better than anywhere else and even less expensive than other places. read more

I would NEVER recommend this grooming salon for your dog. I was a faithful and loyal customer with one of their experienced groomers for almost 2 years. After Amanda left the salon, we used an inexperienced groomer and my dog had anxiety with the new groomer. I discussed it with my vet and she gave her anxiety medicine. When I called to schedule another appointment, the manager told me my 4 pound Yorkie was no longer welcomed at their salon. I was appalled by the treatment a loyal customer received. I would understand if she had bit, hurt, or if it happened multiple times. Petco should be embarrassed by the customer service of their employees. read more

Definitely would NOT recommend having your dog groomed at this location, UNLESS you don't mind having your dog shaved. Apparently that's all they have time for. They overbook and only care about getting the dogs in and out. NO THANK YOU. Shaved my Australian Labradoodle without ANY notification . Second , and LAST time I went, I discussed the cut that I wanted.(after waiting in line for 15 mins and listening to the receptionist state they were very busy and overbooked) Due to a matte near my dog's rear end, and one on her leg, neither to the skin, the groomer felt it best to shave my entire dog. Are you kidding me??? She half listened and was rushed so I told her, no thank you. read more

I don't usually write reviews and I usually give people the benefit of the doubt, but I have had too many horrible experiences with the grooming at this location. My poor 10 year old dog sat there for four and a half hours. When I came in at the four hour mark, which is the amount of time you're supposed to give them, he had not even had a haircut yet and I had to wait there for 30 more minutes and was told "oh well that's because we had a lot of walk-ins." Well my dog should have been priority because I had an appointment. I didn't get any apology and the customer service was awful and they just tried to argue with me when they knew that they were in the wrong. The worst part was the smart aleck employee, Brandon who was extremely rude and condescending and did not seem to care about the experience my dog and I had at all. He just wanted to argue and keep making nonsense excuses that were not valid. He always seems to show up to try to handle every situation and transaction, when it has nothing to do with him and he is not even a manager, and I wish he wouldn't because he just goes on a power trip and never stops talking. I eventually got to talk to the actual manager, and he at first, also made excuses, until he realized it had been 4.5 hours and offered me my money back. I will certainly not be coming back to this location. Management, I would hope that this prompts you to talk to your employees and explain what decent customer service is. read more

By far the worst service and experience I have had to date. It all started a couple months ago when I came in to return an online order. Even with the invoice it took the store Manager Shawn 30 + minutes to complete the transaction. He then issued me a credit on a gift card although I had a receipt. Because I still needed other items and I believed in second chances I took the gift card with my credit and returned to complete a puppy trim and bath. Got my puppy back and his face was trimmed and he smelled delightful. He had an appt at the vet the next day and his pointed out that while very healthy his ears and nails and sanitary area needed attending to. Called the store and the unfutunate experience to speak with Shawn again. After a long convo he stated to bring him back in and they will complete for free. Bring him back today to get a trim by their lead grommer and they now state they recommend me taking him to a vet because he would hurt himself. I watch from the window and could see that My boy was super nervous about the trimmers but for a lead grommer you would think she would provide a bit more comfort or even utilize something to distract him like a treat. So I asked can he at least get his bath and explained my confusion as they trimmed him the last time. Her idiotic response was well I would take him to a vet because they can restrain him differently and they can issue a refund. Can't understand how he stayed to have his bath and trim the last time but now you recomend taking him to a vet. Worst experience ever needless to say I won't be back. Ended up taking my pup to Reagle Beagle who saw him right away and was very accommodating read more
