Came here after a long day of work, and it was the kind of treat that made the wait worth it. A coworker had raved about it, and like with most hyped-up food, I assumed it would be overrated. But I was wrong! We walked up, and I ordered a dairy-free Dole Whip in pomegranate flavor with rainbow sprinkles in a cup. I wasn't sure what to expect--I'm usually not a huge pomegranate fan--but from the first taste, I was sold! It was sweet with just the right amount of tartness, and the sprinkles added a fun pop of color. It was the perfect cold treat to make an 8-hour workday feel worth it. Especially when we want to minimize drive time. Soft serve twist (vanilla, chocolate) + cookie crunch is the way to go. Best if the cookie crunch marinates a little. We tried both soft serve and hard; the strawberry soft serve (8/10) was great - a nice subtle but great taste. My kids liked the banana soft serve (8/10) as well. For the hard ice cream - the coffee tasted as if it had burnt espresso beans finely crushed (6/10). The chocolate chocolates chip was really not that great in taste and very heavy in chocolate with a slight sticky consistency (4/10). I've enjoyed a fair amount of ice cream this summer, but my imagination has returned to this place. It is not especially fancy, but they offer a generous portion for a reasonable price and I haven't had a mint like that in a long time. Maybe somebody spilled a little extra flavoring in the mix at the dairy, maybe that's the recipe. My tongue has remembered it all summer, in a good way, hence this review after the fact. Went for the first time this season last night. In a word, DISSAPOINTING! I had a hard ice cream chocolate-chocolate chip waffle cone. In the three scoops of ice cream I counted 4 chocolate chips. The ice cream was icy and not creamy as it used to be. The waffle cone was broken into four pieces. They charge 75 cents extra for hard ice cream and 75 cents extra per topping, and the topping portions are VERY skimpy. Not going there again, Stewart's is way better. read more

If I could give a 0 rating, I would. My husband and I have been going there for years to buy milk, ice cream, etc., and have always had a great experience. There have been some super nice people working there in the past. However, things appear to have changed drastically. I'm not sure this is still a Boice Bros. business... When we went there today, my husband asked if he could use the public restroom, and was told no by a young man at the cash register. There are two restrooms there, so I asked if he could use the other, and was told no, that they no longer were allowing the public to use the restroom. So I stayed to do our shopping, while my husband left in our car to find a nearby restroom (we'd been on the road for 3 hours)... Noah, the young man at the register, was arrogant, rude and belligerent. I asked if he was the manager, and he said yes. I started to go about my shopping, when Noah confrontationally asked me if there was a problem. I told him no, there was no problem, and turned back towards the shopping area. Noah began to harass me about there "being a problem", and I told him there was no problem, but he continued to insist that there was. I told him I just wanted to do my shopping and that there was no problem. He said that he and his wife were the owners, and then his wife came from behind the counter and reiterated that there was no public bathroom--something that had been established from the very beginning--and I told her I understood that. I repeated that I just wanted to get our ice cream, milk, etc., and Noah told me that I did not have to shop there. WOW!!! Then he told me to "just get out", and his wife told me sarcastically to "have a nice day"... What is wrong with these people?!!! That is no way to run a business! Maybe it's because they're very young and don't know any better? Or maybe they were raised by parents who told them they were special and could treat people any way they want without consequences?... The consequences of this encounter will be that we will NEVER go back there, and we'll make sure we tell everyone all about it. But it won't matter, because Noah is an angry young man who apparently is more interested in seeking confrontation than building or maintaining a successful business... read more

I have tried every brand of mint chocolate chip icecream you can find in the grocery stores and local icecream shops, and green is just eons better. That being said, I was unhappily surprised when I ordered my mint chocolate chip hot fudge sundae and it was white. Have stayed away from here for a while due to past issues. Wrong orders, lack of customer service and inability to reach anybody in charge. Stopped there today and nothing has changed! My order was wrong again. The girl told me the total was $7.25 but charged me $8. Wanted peanut butter topping, with whipped cream and nuts, no cherry. This was my first visit to The Milk House. The soft serve selection is vanilla or chocolate which they will twist for you. The soft serve was to my taste a bit similar to frozen yogurt in texture and flavor. I wasn't impressed and I probably won't go back.
