Friendly atmosphere. High ceilings and nice space. Kind service. Came on a Saturday morning around 10am and it wasn't too busy. Ordered coffee, vegan pancakes, and challah bread French toast. Paid by card at the counter and then grabbed a seat in the window. We were given our coffees right away and food arrived in around 15min. They didn't have milk or milk alternatives out on the counter, but offered to get some for us from the cooler if we wanted it. Someone came by and offered to refill our coffee. Then another person came by and grabbed the empty plates. Loved the Challah Bread French Toast- so good, and so happy to see a vegan pancake option with vegan chocolate chips too! I got a cream crepe, it was delicious. The staff were very kind and it was in a wonderful location with a very nice atmosphere. 10/10

Had Dolce for the first time today. We ordered the croissant sandwich, crepe, potato leek soup, and the omelet. It was definitely worth the wait. Even thought it was busy it didn't seem like that compromised the quality of preparation. It was fresh and scrumptious. Can't wait to return. read more

Very disappointed. Sloww and we couldn't have been more patient. Was clear they were training and it was super busy! Totally understandable, no big deal at all. Went in to check in on a coffee ordered 20 minutes prior (literally just to make sure I didn't forget to grab it!), and got such unnecessary attitude. Like, actual major attitude. I was honest and let the manager know I thought she was being a little rude - it was soo out of nowhere. She then told me nope, I was rude I was so taken aback! Overall: 5/10. Went for an early lunch today, and ordered a cheese and egg croissant sandwich for $7. I asked for the croissant to be switched for bread, and was told no problem, and then asked for tomato to be added also. when the bill came, somehow my $7 sandwich escalated to $13! I couldn't understand how this had happened, and was told $2 extra for the tomato (OK I understand that)...BUT $4 EXTRA for the 2 slices of bread ($2 each for a piece of 2 bread...AND they saved on the cost of the croissant)! when I spoke to the manager, he said "this is what we charge"! I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK THERE, no matter how nice the food or the ambiance. Yes, everyone has to cope with current inflation, but this is highway robbery. DOLCE, not so sweet! read more

Cute spot in historic district. Sucked it up and dropped in to do a to go egg and sausage sandwich at an exorbitant $9. Happily overtipped since committed helping out the service sector. Asked to add a splash of oat milk to coffee and was told it would be $1.62...for a splash!?!?! AYFKM??? Unfortunately this was the worst restaurant I've been to, when I first walked in the door I noticed they had a 10 people maximum capacity and then I looked at the table to notice a group of 10 people (with children that ran around) that took up about three tables and two other groups of people who were seated 3 feet away and 8 feet away. Not only did they have 0 soda options other than an Izzy but we waited for over half an hour for an egg sandwich and a pancake. When they came they looked flat, which I ignored however they tasted horrible, you could still taste the egg and they felt slimy/raw on the inside and they shouldn't have costed 12 dollars for something I'd expect from a place like Chuck E. Came here with a friend to have a nice sit down breakfast. We ordered buttermilk pancakes fruit, bacon, and the salmon crepe. The pancake was pretty good and the whipped cream was home made. I was a fan. The reason for the 3 stars? The bacon was like microwave bacon. It was super thin too. This is supposed to be a breakfast place and for $3.50 I expected something real... The salmon crepe was more like a smoked salmon salad wrapped in crepe. I would have enjoyed the crepe more if it was rolled like a transitional crepe with the right balance of ingredients... The salted Carmel hot chocolate drink was heavenly. By far the best item here that we tried. Dolce has great food. Period. The seating is a little bit tight. So it tends to get crowded quickly. But did I mention the food rocks? It does. The staff is also very friendly and the coffee is quite good. The best part? My whole family likes it - even the kids - so I can't really go wrong there. Stopped in our way back to Long Island. Dolce is nestled near the harbor in Kingston in a very hip neighborhood. The vibe in the place was fantastic and the decor was great. It felt like Brooklyn. This is a gem. Everything detail about it is exquisite. If you just want a quick, cheap breakfast or lunch, go elsewhere. The food is superb; it's food to be savored slowly; food prepared and presented professionally. The crapes - sweet and savory - are perfectly done, with interesting combinations of fillings/toppings. The same for the lunches. The service is prompt, attentive, young and intelligent. The atmosphere is, again, exquisite. The unfinished, largely uncluttered brick walls are a pale color which contrasts, softly, the trim of soft ochre, seats a spotted navy and the tables thick, varnished, knotty pine. We stopped at this place for breakfast twice while visiting Kingston for a wedding two weekends ago. It was both delicious and unpretentious and felt like a diamond in the overall rough of Kingston. The menu is simple yet tasty, and had vegan options aplenty, including some amazing vegan pancakes. On the first visit, I had an egg sandwich with pesto and my lady had the tofu scramble. The server was very nice and attentive and recognized us when we returned the next morning. My only recommendation to Dolce would be to offer some sides. I would've loved a pile of potatoes or an order of veggie sausage to accompany my breakfast. read more

The prices went up in the last year. They took away the all you can drink coffee. Sadly , this place USE TO BE a favorite weekend breakfast place but I am thinking that it too pricey now. The pancakes start at 10.00, the crepes are 8 and up. The specials this weekend were 13.50 and up. So sad..... I do not think breakfast should cost 20.00 a person. I haven't been to Dolce in a long time, but all of a sudden I have a craving for this AMAZING breakfast sandwich they make: Swiss cheese, avocado, tomato, and an egg on a flaky, buttery croissant. It always came out perfectly, and their cappuccinos were the best I've ever had. The space is gorgeous with exposed brick, sunny window seats, and paintings for sale all over the walls. Dolce is a really cool place. The previous reviewer captures the ambiance. The food and coffee were all excellent, with a "fresh" feeling to everything. There's also a small cupboard with toys and games to keep the kids - or kids at heart - occupied while waiting for their food. Speaking of waiting, be prepared to wait a while. While we were seated quickly and ordered almost immediately, the food took a very long time. It was well worth it, but I recommend being prepared to linger here a while if you'll be ordering food. read more

Watched another server wipe the tables down with a dirty sponge - gross. Ordered the special of the day - Challah french toast - received 2 soggy slices with 3 strawberries and half a banana and less than one oz of maple syrup = $14. When i asked for extra maple syrup the waitress said - we charge extra for that (Really? on a $14 special??) waitress brought it out 10 minutes later when i had already finished my meal - to add insult to injury the extra charge was $2 for the syrup I didn't get the chance to enjoy :( With other hip and trendy breakfast places that treat and feed you right locally in Kingston and Woodstock there really is no reason to waste your morning at Dolce. read more

What a find! After seeing a performance at UPAC with my 9-yr old, we decided to explore for a place to luncheon. We wandered down toward the waterfront and seeing a row of cafes and restaurants, parked and walked up the block. My son loves crepes so seeing that on the menu, we ventured in to this most adorable cafe, with old world style, tin ceilings and exposed brick walls, open kitchen and cozy tables, and were greeted by a lovely young woman. My son said "Oh I hope they have Nutella" and by stroke of luck they did! He ordered the crepes (of course) with Nutella and I had a request to have the egg salad with spinach and avocado sandwich as a salad, which was no problem. The salad was delicious, with stone ground honey mustard dressing served on the side. We also both ordered hot tea which was served in ceramic tea pots (to my boy's delight) and when the waitress saw him pour water into his cup of tea she asked if we wanted more hot water and I explained it was just a tad too hot. Very intuitive service. The crepes were made on the spot (we watched!) and were so yummy that my son said it just might be the best day of his life. The atmosphere was so delicious also that he mentioned he wanted to work there when he grows up. We will be back! read more
